I have natal Pluto in House 12 (in Libra) and for a long time, I was very frustrated with its overall suckiness. For so long, I have had virtually no real power in any group, organization, workplace or social setting, no matter how much I contributed, how qualified I was, how much others seemed to like and appreciate my presence. It's my Jupiter in Leo in House 9—it wants recognition and is ****** it almost never gets any.

But just lately, I've had a number of experiences typical of Pluto in H12 natives that make me think what I've read about its advantages are true: I may not have any real power, but I have a kind of true power, which is the best kind, the kind that must never be misued (and what kind of a sick ******* would want to misuse it anyway)?

There's no role "greater" than being the supportive, behind-the-scenes friend who becomes the first stranger a young gay man comes out to in public, or the first person a woman tells about her joyfully-conceived new pregnancy. That is awesome. These aren't the sort of achievements anyone gets recognition for, because it wouldn't be appropriate for them to be recognized, but they're there.

I don't think I would trade Pluto in H12 for any other Pluto I could have.

wild ~

I too love my Pluto in XII and would never trade it for another placement
As for the “true power” angle, I see the distinction you’ve made – I have an example from my work that’s in agreement with your experience…..
I’ve worked for this company for 13 years now, started at the bottom. When they upgraded computer systems, I found myself in a position of being able to basically create my own job description. I’m the software trainer and people come to me with their questions and problems. Even though I don’t make particularly good money, I’ve become the GoTo Person for most of the people in the company, and I have to make decisions for different departments about what they should do (which makes my Libra Sun just wriggle with delight ). If I had a “true power” management position, I would have the same amount of authority as I do now, but more responsibility – and I’d rather not take my job home with me every night like the company officers do. I like working undercover, behind the scenes

Something I read a long time ago that really resonated about H12 Pluto is that the natives have an unsurpassed facility for bouncing back from enormously life-altering circumstances – and I can testify to the validity of that

Then it just means you aren't ever promoted or recognized outside the company - you are just used around because they don't bother with technical details and you do.

It's good that you are making yourself useful but oh, you wouldn't dare misuse power for you will go to hell when you die and be reborn in a worse state than you are now.
