On a free online birthchart site, it says that challenging Sun/Saturn aspects mean that: "Her father must seek to express a warmer, more flexible, and more positive attitude to help BABY's expression of her personality."

I'm reading a chart for a new baby and have the chance to bring this up with her dad. Do you have any experience (as adults) with challenging Sun-Saturn aspects? And if so, did you or do you feel rejected/judged by your father?

I have a Sun/Saturn parallel, and I've never met my real father.( and I never bonded with my stepdad AT ALL!!!)

According to Wikipedia, Arnold Schwarzenneger's ( sorry about the spelling ) father never really believed Arnold was his, and treated him accordingly ( He also has a Sun/Saturn parallel).

I personally know someone who doesn't believe his firstborn is really his.

The firstborn has a t-square, with the Sun at the midpoint of a Saturn/Pluto opposition.

I have an anecdote that might be helpful on this one, and it concerns the father of my own children who has Sun CNJ Saturn on his chart. You will have to bear with me as my own father has Sun CNJ Saturn on his chart and he comes into this story.

But to summarise it, I'd say I think it is important that dads intereact with their children and don't shut themselves away in their study/garden shed/office/golf club/pub. Kids like it when their dad sits down and plays lego, computer games or whatever.

My husband's dad is a very serious man who doesn't really interact much with his family, and I only once recall him sitting down and playing lego with my lads. By contrast, my own dad can get quite silly, and will do playfights and other things little boys like though he is getting a bit past it now, lol.

My husband's dad was raised on his own without any other children about, and had his doting granny, auntie and mother did everything for him. My dad's mother had poor health (see premature passing of mother thread) and helped do the housework. So as a father, I saw my dad do housework, his dad didn't do a thing. That's nothing. At all.

Another interesting comparision is that my dad would be insulted at the idea he couldn't manage to look after 2 kids for a few hours because his is a man in his 60s, he thinks it is sexist. By contrast my husband's dad was left with one of them for half an hour while I nipped to the shops with his wife. He found it a real challenge ~ don't know why when he was sat engrossed in Star Wars on the box.

My expectation of what a father should be wasn't quite what my husband had grown up with so he faced a bit of a learning curve but he has done fine. Not exactly pro-active on housework though and we've had words about that.

This is only one aspect of the Sun/Saturn aspect but as she is a baby this seems relevant.

I would like to think that Saturn can also present the mother - as long as she is the dominant figure... sometimes mothers are the father figures...

Seeing Stars...

I would suggest a google search for "declinations"..."parallels".. "contra-parallels" etc.

I know that you can see your planets positions in the declinations of your own chart by running it at astro.com, and then clicking the "view additional tables" link (or something close to that)

The appropriate orbs to use might be somewhat confusing though.

Go to the Magi site ( or your own personal favorite astrology site) for more info.

I have Sun in Scorpio quincunx retrograde Saturn in Gemini in 9th

I never knew my father. He left when I was a year old. He had drug problems. He also had communication problems(speech, auditory) like me so the Gemini involved makes sense.

The only father figure that I have ever known was my stepfather who was very strict from his experiences being in the military. He met my mom when I was 2 years old. He was 25 years older than my mother and 43 years older than me. I haven't seen him since I was 18 years old when my mom broke up with him.

hi lucia
my father is a sagittarius I have moon in sagittarius but they don't make a conjunction.

he is a very funny man, has a good sense of humour (venus mercury conjunction in sag.)
He is very generous. He was and is there for me for my whole life.a good father and a good husband.

he got cancer I don't want to loose him.Not just bec.I LOVE HIM AND HE'S MY FATHER BECAUSE HE IS MY FRIEND ALSO..

10 years ago when I have no information about astrology (only sun signs),I went to an astrologer. She told me you must have some problems with your father (I have sat sq.mars also)I was very surprised.

we have to look at the whole chart before we come to a conclusion. But of course like I said before,it is not a tight orb square and my moon is well aspected in the 4th house..
