I just graduated from high school. I'm going to pick the classes I'm going to take in college soon and I'm a bit undecided about what I'd like to major in. I'm leaning towards psychology but I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for me based on my chart. I'd really appreciate any insight you could give. *** should say if and not is in the title. :-/

I'd say journalism, radio, or something in communications.IP: Logged |

yes... I agree.television - preferably in front of the camera but learn how tv works too. Learn about broadcasting, producing tv shows and film. If you are going to be in the front of the camera, you must know how it all comes together. journalism- and work towards being a tv anchor for CNN/BBC/EuroNews... etc. Or a field reporter or correspondent. Knowledge of broadcasting is also important here. If you are really passionate about psychology, you can work towards being Dr. Phil. Or you could have your own column where you give advice to people or a life coach, to help people find balance in their lives. IP: Logged |

Thanks everybody. Honestly, I've also seriously considered a career in make-up artistry too. I've been weighing out the pros and cons of each and one of my biggest issues with psychology is I'm just not sure I can handle spending the rest of my life listening to other people's problems and telling them why they have them. On the other hand, I'm not sure I can handle the instability that would come with being a make-up artist, especially when first starting out. Then on top of that, Journalism doesn't sound at all bad either and I was planning on learning Latin on the side anyway (probably the only thing I'm 100% on. lol) As much as I'd like to settle on something now, I know that I'll change my mind later and that just bugs me. I'd like to start working towards something as soon as possible. IP: Logged |

I can see why pyscholgy interests you. I went to college for psychology as well and after my first year I had done a 180 and my views on psychology had turned to radically opposing. funny. either way. psychology is bullsh*t.. well atleast the part about people becoming psychologists to try to help people. treat it like the adventure that it is - start somewhere and see where it takes you - you can always adjust your path as you go. something will come along that will just grab you by the heart and that will be the thing for you.IP: Logged |
