I think this is a part of the grand "cycle" of things... Anyone remember when MTV used to play music videos? (LOL) IP: Logged |

...was that a dirty joke? lolum, idk every generation has the "nostalgia" factor. i mean, look at the 50s. that was all about nostalgia for the good ol' days before the war. and then the 80s was just nostalgia for the 50s. IP: Logged |

This is the best age to live in. People are kinder to one another. We don't use racist or chauvinistic comments half as much (trust me, if you had lived through the 70's you would know. Women were treated like garbage)We have the internet and can contact our loved one's at the touch of a button. When I lived in S.Africa during the late 70's and 80's it took 2 weeks minimum to get an airmail letter back and forth so for a couple of weeks at a time my parents didn't know if I was alive or dead. I could only telephone them at Xmas because it cost £4 a minute....even then!! You have so much personal freedom to express yourself now and be what you want. Look at this forum for example. I remember buying a magazine called Fortune in 1988 from a large book store and someone hissing in my ear "Witch!!!! Now to believe in something esoteric or metaphysical or to question things is not considered barking mad. Even 15 yrs ago alternative therapies were considered ridiculous. I love it now! Love it love it love it! Nostalgia is great. If you can see it in it's rose tinted perspective for what it actually is. Nostalgia. IP: Logged |
