Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 10:00 pm EDT, Mars in Leo will conjoin the South Node in Leo at 20* (additionally it will oppose the North Node in Aquarius) The South Node rules past life karma, and can at times be pretty bad...if you have ever experienced a South Node transit you know what I am talking about!

To get an a better idea of the transit we look back and see what's been going on in Leo for the past few years. The last Mars transit was about 2 years ago in June 2006-July 2006. Mars has about a 2-2 1/2 year transit around the entire zodiac. Saturn was the last big transit through the sign of Leo. It was at 20* degrees Leo in September 2006, February 2007, and June 2007. So you see that the 20* degree point is very important to us or why would Saturn have repeated through those degrees 3 times! Direct, retrograde and direct again!

The sign of Leo (ruled by the Sun) rules our soul, it rules our ego, and it rules love. When these things are not in harmony with our inner being we have trouble, lots of trouble. The South Node in Leo, rules attached Love. However the South Node can be over idealistic about love and no one seems to fit the bill. When Mars transits the South Node, the planet always has the power. So Mars pulls the South Node and we have a burst of energy. These experiences can range from falling madly in love, to fights and arguments over being disillusioned about love.

This suggests that there is something going on in each of our lives that is unresolved and quickly needs to get resolved. Be aware that it can explosively get resolved too!

The South Node can produce a mighty and forceful energy and certainly will pack a wallop in most of our lives! It can be a spiritual boon that fills you with incredible knowledge or it can be a time when you feel the heaviness of the day.
To further complicate matters there is a Fixed Star at 20* Leo too! It's name is Ras Elased Austrakis. The Southern most Star in the Head of the Lion. This star conveys spiritual gifts to those who are capable of receiving them.
As the Map shows this aspects will be more potent over certain geographical areas than others! So it depends on where you live, if there will be a collective experience, like fires, earthquakes or attacks., and additionally if you personally have any planets at 20*. My SO has sun at 19 leo and mars at 20 leo - so l guess he will be affected. It will be interesting to see how this transit gets to him, seeing as he and l are going through a pretty bad patch right now! lol

I just realized that the mars in Leo thing will affect me too cos my moon/venus/saturn/NN are all between 18-21 degs ARIES! lol
