I planned to show you this synastry with a colleague of mine as an example for a synastry WITHOUT soulmate-potential and without many signs of attraction.I don`t have a relationship with him, other than working with him, but I guess we basically like each other; at least I think so, since his eyes lighten up everytime we meet in the building. There`s no attraction, or attempts to make it more than just a professional, harmonious work-relationship, but it`s pleasant to be working with someone, with whom you get along. So, I thought this could serve as an example for relationships that are just nice and pleasant, and not intense, and not fraught with painful attractions and so on. Here is what I found: Rule 1: My DC trine his Sun my DC trine his Pluto* my DC trine his Valentine* my DC conjunct his dr Karma Rule 2: his Sun trine my Pluto* his Sun trine my SN his SAturn opposes my Sun his Pluto conjuncts my MC His NN conjuncts my Sun his Amor trine my Sun* his Valentine conjunct my Pluto his Valentine conjunct my MC
his dr Sun conjunct my dr Antivertex* his Venus conjunct my dr Pluto his dr Pluto conjunct my Venus his dr Mars opposes my Moon* his pluto conjunct my dr Karma* his Amor conjunct my dr Venus* his dr Amor opposes my dr Pltuo* his Valentine conjunct my dr Karma his dr Karma conjunct my dr Moon
other asteroids: his Chiron conjunct my dr Sun* his dr Chiron conjunct my Saturn his dr Chiron conjunct my Vertex his dr Chiron conjunct my Eros my Chiron conjunct his Parvati his Juno conjunct my dr Pluto his juno conjunct my dr MC his dr Juno conjunct my dr Isis and dr Osiris my Juno conjunct his Kaali* my dr Juno opposes his dr VAlentine my dr Juno opposes his dr Pluto his Karma conjunct my dr Siva his dr Karma opposes my Mars his dr Valentine conjunct my dr Isis and dr Osirs my dr Valentine conjunct his Kaali his Amor trine my Parvati his Amor conjunct my dr Isis and dr Osiris my Amor conjunct his dr Siva his Eros conjunct my dr Pluto and dr MC his dr Eros conjunct my dr Venus, dr Isis and dr Osiris my Eros conjunct his Parvati my dr Eros opposes his dr Sun his dr Psyche conjunct my dr Sun his Isis conjunct my dr Saturn my Isis and Osiris conjunct his dr Pluto and dr Valentine his Osiris trine my Juno and Eros his Siva conjunct my Parvati* my Siva opposes his Mars his Kaali trine my Saturn I really didn`t expect such aspects this time. ROFL Well, it`s quite noticeable that there are about 6 aspects with his Amor and 5 aspects to his Valentine and Eros, while there are only 2 aspects to my Eros and, 1 aspect to my Valentine and 1 to my Amor. Hmm, I wonder what that means. DD IP: Logged |

Lara, yes, I said it, NO CHEMISTRY; NO ATTRACTION! A certain liking, yes, but from my side no attraction.
EDIT:
This is so weird. I looked into the composite and there is: - Sun conjunct Venus EXACTLY - Pluto conjunct Siva EXACTLY - Uranus conjunct Valentine (3) - Isis conjunct Neptune and Neptune conjunct Osiris (strange) BUT - Sun / Venus exactly squares Chiron
And there is not much else in the composite, as far as I see it. We even have a nice aspect in the progressed synastry: my progressed Sun is EXACTLY conjunct his natal Venus (o°07). Since his natal Venus is retograde, and just has turned to direct motion, my progressed Sun is ALSO conjunct his progressed Venus with an orb of 2° and approaching. And again it`s his Venus that is triggered, not mine. Hmm.

"with all those amazing aspects, shouldn't you guys be teary-eyed over each other?" Yeah, probably. But we ain`t. *shrugs* However, it seems more understandable if you only take the tropical into consideration with only the important planets and Karma, Valentine, Amor and Eros.
His Sun: sextile my Neptune trine my Pluto sextile my NN sextile my ASC
My Sun: conjunct his NN opposite his Saturn sextile his Uranus trine his Amor my Moon: probably sextile his Moon square his Mars conjunct his Jupiter widely sextile his Chiron
his Mercury: widely sextile my Mercury
my Mercury: opposes his Saturn# conjuncts his NN sextile his Uranus his Venus: square my Uranus sextile my Amor my Venus: square his Pluto square his Valentine his Mars: square my Moon sextile my Saturn my Mars: sextile his Pluto square his Karma his Karma: trine my Uranus square my Mars square my Amor my Karma: sextile his Chiron his Valentine: square my Venus conjunct my Pluto conjunct my MC sextile my ASC
my Valentine: sextile his Eros his Amor: trine my Sun trine my Mercury my Amor: square his Karma sextile his Venus his Eros: sextile my Valentine my Eros: ------- This doesn`t look all too intense, except for the Valentine-Pluto-conjunction, does it?
Also, my DC-ruler (Mercury) only has those aspects with his chart: - opposes his Satunr - conjunct his NN - trine his Amor - sextile his Uranus my 5th house ruler would be Venus (Placidus) or Mars (equal): so for Placidus my 5th ruler would: - square his Pluto and Valentine for equal my 5th ruler would: - sextile his Pluto - squar ehis Karma There are no strong aspects to MY Valentine and Amor or Eros (strong aspects being: conjunction, opposition, trine). And my Venus only has this square to Pluto and Valentine.
Maybe ther eis the secret of the "Non-attraction"?

Well, I doubt it's just one thing, but a lack of attraction is usually due to Saturn and a lack of affinities, especially with his Venus. His Saturn opposes your Sun - this may give him an immediate feeling that you're not his romantic type, and never would be, but he still respects you. His Mars also opposes your moon - this probably disinclines him from pursuing you romantically. Affinity has more to do with major natal aspects, signs and houses than aspects. For example, I have Pisces Mars in the 1st house, and I tend to have affinities with men who have strong a Pisces, Neptunian, Aries, or Mars "flavor" about them, regardless to what our actual cross aspects are. Another thing I've noticed is that I'm drawn to people who are very Mercurial - Virgos, Geminis, people with strong Mercury aspects or a prominent 3rd house - because my Mercury conjuncts my Sun. I feel like a identify with this people, that there's a rapport. Another example is if you have 9th house Sun, moon, Venus, or Mars - you may find yourself attracted often to people who have active 9th houses or significant planets or aspects in the 9th that give them a 9th house vibe. I have a friend who has a 9th house Venus, and she always finds herself attracted to men with 9th house Suns, regardless to other indicators of attraction. Pinpointing affinities can be a little tricky, and some affinities are more significant than others. Sometimes it depends a little one what an individual needs to feels he/she needs in their life. Sometimes affinities can simply indicate a general comfort around someone, especially if there's no strong, harmonious romantic cross aspects. But usually the more obvious the affinity, the more likely there's an attraction. Look for affinities with Sun signs and houses first, then with Venus and Mars. IP: Logged |

Mercury, you are absolutely right. I`m relieved someone else mentioned the affinities this time. I started feeling like I was a broken record in the other threads. And I think that is the real reason behind the lack of attraction. His Venus is on 0° Aquarius, and I NEVER feel attracted to men with Venus in a Yang-sign. Also, usually I need strong aspects to my Venus to be attracted. Here we only have the square to Pluto. And as much as I like Venus-Pluto, it`s just not enough; there has to be some personal planets involved in this. Also, I have Venus in Capricorn square Pluto. And I`m really looking for this in a man, I think. An earthy Venus with an aspect to Pluto, or at least Mars / ASC-Pluto-connections. He has the Sun trine hsi Pluto - but it`s not enough. My Mars falls into my 12th house and conjuncts Neptune - so Venus/ Neptune or Mars/Neptune would be a requirement, too. As far as I can see it he doesn`t have it. Also, MErcury is my DSC-ruler and it is in my 1st house (Aries-house); I need strong Mercurial-aspects in synastry; they are really attractive to me. There`s not much going on in synastry with MErcury except for a sextile of his Mercury to my Mercury, and my Mercury sextile his Uranus and opposing his Saturn (this is not what I look for in MErcury-aspects btw ). He has a Mercury-Jupiter-conjunction and I have Mercury in Sagittarius natally, so that is a level of compatibility, mental compatibility. His Venus is in Aquarius and squares his Uranus; my Venus is in Capricorn and squares my Pluto - this alone screams a loud NO; Uranus and Pluto are in some cases just plainly incompatible.
His Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Venus are in Aquarius, and my Moon is in Aquarius, so there is a basic compatibility with my emotional nature I guess. Also his Moon is in Aries, which fits to my Fire - Sun, Mercury, Mars and ASC. His Taurus Mars is probably much to earthy, solid and grounded for my Mars in SAgittarius squaring Jupiter and conjunct Neptune. And on top of that the synastry (without asteroids) shows a definite lack of Venus-aspects. Not good.

I have another coworker, and the case with him is a bit different; it feels like there is not much compatibility between us, we really don`t have anything in common, and we don`t notice each other for weeks, until we bump into each other again, and there`s some attraction on my part to him (not earthshattering and btw he`s really out of my league); there`s sometimes an almost flirtative athmosphere between us, not strongly, hmm, maybe not really flirtative, but some kind of "spicey smalltalk" - it`s just fun, for we often share the same kind of humour, and our verbal banter (it`s not THAT bad) is very revitalizing I think for both of us. It`s just a bit of fun. However, as I said this case is a bit different.
His Sun and Moon fall into Scorpio into my 12th house (but almost in Sagittarius - just one day early) - and they don´t have aspects to other planets, but his Sun and Moon both are conjunct my Amor and Valentine. However, this is what I sense as an absolute lack of basic compatibility. He is coming from a total different world. His Mars is conjunct his Sun and Moon, but is already in Sagittarius and widely conjuncts my Mars.
His Mercury is in Sagittarius and sits exactly on my ASC and conjuncts my Mars, Neptune and NN - there we have the Mercury-emphasis, I like so much, again.
Of course my Mars in Sagittarius square Jupiter really likes his Mars in Sagittarius, which opposes his Jupiter. He`s lacking this mystical, dreamy attitude (my Mars conjunct Neptune), that I like, though. Our Moons are very incompatible, unless he was born in the evening or night, then his Moon would be in SAgittarius, and fit my Sagittarius-Stellium including Sun quite well. But if he really has a Scorpio-Moon, there`s another clash with my Aquarius-Moon. There are no good Moon-aspects either; his Saturn opposes my Moon; well, I think SAturn-Moon-aspects can be very binding and lasting, I know, because I have a double whamm of Moon-Saturn square and opposition with my best friend, BUT our Moons are basically compatible (hers in Aries sextiles mine in Aquarius exactly; her Moon is also in her 11th house). But in this case, the incompatibility of our Moons AND the Saturn opposition to my Moon spells a lot withdrawel, rejection, disinterest I think.
But the interesting part is our Venus-positions. His Capricorn-Venus is square his Pluto, as my Capricorn-Venus squares my Pluto. They are actually closely conjunct, and my Pluto squares his Venus. This is not an easy aspect, but it probably is the only way to explain why there is this slight attraction despite a very obvious incompatibility. Well, if I look at the asteroids: his Sun conjuncts my AMor and Valentine his Mars ocnjuncts my Amor and Valentine his Karma conjuncts my Valentine And in the DRaco`s there´s an exact double whammy on Venus-Mars: his dr Venus opposite my Mars his dr Mars conjunct my dr Venus
Alont with his dr Sun conjuncts my dr Venus exactly his dr Venus conjunct my dr Moon his dr Karma conjunct my dr Venus and some more. But those both synastries tell me, that it`s not enough to just list the synastric aspects; you really have to look at the natals first and see if you fit in each other`s "type" AND if there is basic compatibility.
In the first case there was basic compatibility (especially emotional and mental), but no attraction. He needs a Venus-uransu-woman, and even though I have a Moon in Aquarius, I am not very Uranian in Venusian matters.
In the second case there seems to be some attraction on the Venusian level, but not much more than that (except for a bit of mental stimulation). DD
