Any advice would be appreciated from Leos or anyone with anything to add. Im struggling at work with a Leo guy who I manage. He is able to do his job but he does need additional support because he is dyslexic - this in itself is not a problem (I actually work for a charity supporting learning disabilities). I mention it because I find this guy gets very frustrated with himself and often sets himself standards that are too high for him to achieve. He likes to be seen to be important, particularly in front of other staff and he tries to run things (leo leadership) but sadly, he often cant cope and cant be trusted to do a job correctly. He has the most fragile ego I have ever known - when you say he does well he gets very overconfident and gets carried away with himself and when you try to bring him back to earth and constructively critise him he sulks and gets angry. He is very emotionally immature.

I recognise the Leo side of his nature, tremendous pride and ego. He needs to be seen to be doing well. How can I help to bring this side out him, make him feel good about himself and do a good job whilst keeping him within realistic and achievable goals.

Any advise or experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks guys xx

No idea... My best friend is a Leo male, and I have some of the same problems with him that you mentioned above.

"often sets himself standards that are too high for him to achieve"

No kidding... And, seems to not understand why everyone is rolling their eyes when he puffs his chest out spouting how he easily is going to accomplish them... Half the time I just want to smack him upside the head and completely shatter his ego so he can get a grip on reality, but I never do (he is my best friend). A hard accomplishment for a Scorpio... LOL!

I'm a Leo Sun - you can tell him to 'cut the crap, and set manageable targets'

Let the guy sulk. Male Leos are so prone to emotional sulking and it can really make me baulk. It really lets the majesty of the lion down.

Leos do listen and their pride doesn't want them to get caught out on an error again, so they will change tactics to avoid mistakes.

Tough love (with a smidgen of compassion) works well with Leos. Then pay him a compliment a day to two later, like "I noticed the way you did that task differently. You must be able to think laterally/visually/four dimensionally"

Have fun!!

Thank you. I think you are right, I suppose I wasnt being fair (Im a Libra!!) to the Leo when I said he sulks, what I failed to remember was that he does come round a few days later and tries to act on the advice. Perhaps, if I acknowledge his work rather than overly praise him this may help him gain some sort of balance (oooh another Libran word, its not deliberate - lol) and consistency instead of the overconfidence > over ambitious > fail > crash, cycle that hes been in.

Thank you knowflakes - this has really helped. Im new to my position and Im learning alot about managing people - astrology is really useful.
