Just curious. Both degrees are 2 and 1. One conjunct is in Gemini, and the other is in Virgo.

I don't know if I'd call that a whammy since in this case the conjunction is a positive aspect.
(the true definition of a double whammy is with hard aspects, hence whammy)

Either way, same principle
I like this inner-aspect
it fires you up, challenges you
it attracts you, you bounce ideas off of each other, you relate.
all the positive traits of your Sun Sign

Mars conjunct Sun in a comparison quickly becomes a favorite friend.

hey! i have this with a guy that i normally wouldn't be attracted to, but i am, oh i am!! we actually have sun-merc-mars conjunct (all three, all in aquarius, all conjunct one another.. we were born 4 days apart). i find his mind (merc) and the way he applies it, and what he does, what he believes in (mars) EXTREMELY arousing!! definitely excites me, challenges me, fires me up, motivates me, and i definitely feel we relate easily and innately.

they're all about 6 degrees apart, except for his mars which is exactly conjunct my sun. we also have everything else (except our moons) conjunct, so this could be part of it.. but i think i can really feel the mars/sun thing happening. it's very.. energizing!!

Its a very sexual synastry aspect to have, I would guess it being mutually aspected, just gives mutual sexual desires. Im very attracted to men with my Mars sign.
