Howdy! I hope someone can help me out here because maybe I'm missing something. Is it normal for these charts between the same people to have similar planet placements and ASC? It doesn't seem like they necessarily should because they are constructed differently, but maybe there's some sort of mathematical phenomenon that I don't know about (or understand!) that makes it happen.

In other words: the midpoint composite chart is constructed using the midpoints between planets, ASC, etc... The Davison chart takes the 2 birth dates and birth locations and constructs a chart with a new birth date and location, based on the halfway point between each. So, in theory, these are two completely different ways of constructing a chart and there is really no mathematical reason for them to be even remotely similar, right???

And yet, I have been comparing these 2 charts with all different people and I keep coming up with very similar planets placements, etc...wtf??? lol Someone know the answer to this one?

------------------
Sun - Capricorn (10th House)
Moon - Gemini (2nd House)
Mercury - Sagittarius (9th House)
Venus - Aquarius (11th House)
Mars - Aries (12th House)
ASC - Aries

Coincidence. Composite and Davison charts are reflections of the relationship, so it would make sense that they would have similar placements.

With one relationship I have, we have 10th house stelliums in both the Composite and Davison charts (the Composite 10th house is Pisces and in Davison it's Virgo). Together we're really 10th house oriented people. We always talk about our careers and we go shopping for career clothes. We even talk about marriage and what it would be like.

Hi Amowls! Thanks for your reply. Are you sure it's just a coincidence or a reflection of the relationship? When I DO see planets shifting, it's like you mention with the pisces and virgo...a change to opposite signs and/or a change to the opposite house.

Okay, so...if it's not just a function of some mathematical formula, what does it say about the relationships where the 2 charts are similar? Does it mean it's a more significant relationship because it appears to have some inherent structure? Or does it just go to show that astrology works because 2 totally different charts can say almost the same thing??? lol

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
