Today was school sports day. The kids were arranged in teams of blue, red, yellow and green ~ for water, fire, air and earth. They had to wear a t-shirt with that colour on it. My imagination comes into play here but I am not exaggerating too much when I say: Fire ~> were very competitive and won. Earth ~> came second, they were the quietest group. Water ~> were very vocal in their support, and had someone break down in dramatic tears when she came last. Air ~> sat around chatting but cheered their team on quite enthusiastically. This is absolutely true but will sound like b.s ~ I have a Libran son (Venus/Mercury/Sun) who came in last at a leisurely pace, smiling and blowing kisses to the women in the crowd. There may be problems when he is a teenager. I knew as soon as I saw the race he had to do that he wouldn't be bothered breaking into a sweat running up and down picking up beanbags, he would take it easy. But to be fair, I was lying around on the grass, I wasn't standing at the end of the finish line with a camera and a pep talk. He raced for Air ~ Yellow. He had a blue shirt though, but that wasn't his fault. IP: Logged |

At school, I was in the blue team. We were chilled. The red team always lost. The green team always won and the yellow team alternated with us for second and third. The blue team, my team, was the most academic when it came to intellectual competitions. The red team was still last. And as we went to high school, because one never changed teams, it became more individual competitions than houses. I liked my house, we had more variety than other houses. Our house reminds me of Harry Potter's house sans the magic and spells. IP: Logged |

Back in the day at Scumbag Comprehensive sport wasn't really my thing. I can't remember any competitions, I must be blotting them from my memory. Fire on my chart: Jupiter/Neptune in Sag in the 1st. Er, that's it. My idea of sport is watching Wimbledon on the T.V. IP: Logged |

Also, at the end of the year the head master announced the winning house. The criteria was taken from sport, academics, extra curricular activities and discipline. The last criteria was mostly where points were deducted. Man, the memories. whoever was head boy or girl scored their team big points. I was deputy head girl. Also, colours and honors scored high. I didn't manage to get honors but I had a lot of colors- which meant that my school uniform was different from the majority. Sorry guys, there has been a black out for almost 8 hrs so it became easy to go back in time. I love Wimbledon. I also veg out when it comes around but the plan is to some day see it live.IP: Logged |

The academic side was more my area. But we didn't have these kind of competitions back then. It's good that kids at state schools today (like mine) are getting house points and sports days. IP: Logged |

blue moon.- school was hectic. As I grew, I did less sport too. I used to sprint for my school but somewhere that changed and I became a young politician. Lol. I was into art too. Basically I was one of those derailed over achievers because I also partied hard. My friend, who was the smartest in school, and I used to go do our thing, bring back trophies for our school then pass the bottle store on our way home.IP: Logged |
