What do you think about semisextiles in synastry? Would this aspect be felt and if, how?I have a synastry, in which his Venus exactly semisextiles my Sun (with an orb of 0°01) and also semisextiles my Mercury. His Venus is also parallel my Sun, and my Venus is parallel his Sun. IP: Logged |

Hey DDWell in natal l have venus semi sextile mars exact and being a Taurus sun with Aries moon/AC l find that the semi-sextile naturally happens a lot in my synastry with men. Most of my ex's are Aries sun or moon so unless these are conjunct my moon then it happens! I think it's a positive aspect but then i'm biased with my venus/mars IP: Logged |

I have researched this alot. I actually notice it much more in natal charts than synastry. In synastry it is not an energetic aspect. It works as a connector if there is another aspect like a sextile, trine or square which is expands. For instance, if venus and mars are square at 13 pisces and 13 gemini in synastry and the sun semisextiles venus at 13 aquarius (and therefore trines mars) that sequence will tend to work together. And the sun will aid in working out the mars venus square. It is not a binding aspect on its own.Another way the semisextile works is as potential in a natal chart where 2 planets can work together. It is more intellectual a connection than experiential. The trine is hard to miss and is felt. The semisextile is not felt as much as perceived. IP: Logged |

Bucketrider, thanks a lot for that explanation. It actually confirms what I have thought myself. BTW what orbs do you consider relevant in synastry? Lara,
I have a Venus - Mars - semisextile myself. I find it kinda difficult to balance, to be honest. But in my case Venus squares Pluto and Mars conjuncts Neptune and square Jupiter, so they are really WAY different from each other. DD IP: Logged |

Hmm, I just thought about the sequence of aspects that are all aspecting each other. Wouldn`t it make sense to include semisquare and sesisquare into the analysis then, as they often appear together with the square aspects and are a part of midpoint-astrology?Have you researched this, Bucketrider? Something like a square of Jupiter to NN and Neptune in one chart, and the Venus in the other chart being semisquare to both? DD IP: Logged |

How funny, Lara, Pltuo is actually loosely aspecting my Mars and Venus, too. Mars: 05°10 Sagittarius ASC: 07°01 Sagittarius Venus: 06°07 Capricorn Pluto: 09°05 Libra MC: 04°58 Libra Oh and no man salivated after I have walked past. LOL
But then again I don`t have Venus and Mars in such fiery and sensual signs. DD IP: Logged |

WOWTell me, are you attracted to men whose sun sign is in the same sign as your venus OR scorpios due to pluto aspecting it all? I'm wondering if my attraction through life to Aries men is due to my venus being in 1st H, in aries! IP: Logged |

Yes, actually you can read this in the celebrities I like(d). (and there I like to have Neptunian-influence, too)Jude Law: Sun: Capricorn Mars: Scorpio ASC: Sagittarius Venus: Sagittarius ASC conjunct Neptune Venus conjunct Neptune Orlando Bloom: Sun: Capricorn Mars: Capricorn Moon: Scorpio Venus: Pisces Stuart Townsend: Sun: Sagittarius Venus: Scorpio Mars. Scorpio Ewan McGregor: Sun: Aries Mars: Capricorn Venus: Pisces I have always had a thing for Arian-types, too.
my first crush: Sun: Aries Moon: Taurus (opposite of Scorpio) Venus: Taurus Mars. Pisces ASC: Pisces another musical singer I liked: Sun: Capricorn Venus: Capricorn Moon: Aries ASC: Aries Mars: Libra the "new" guy: Sun: Sagittarius Moon: Sagittarius Venus: Capricorn (square pluto) ASC: Pisces I seem to rather like ASC in PIsces than Venus, though.
a boy I liked in school: Sun: Aries Moon: Libra / Scorpio Mars: Gemini (opposite sign of Sag) Venus: Pisces
I`m boring I guess.

OMGLook at your pattern! I am sun taurus moon aries venus aries mars taurus yeah, well here are a selection of men i've fallen HARD for. ex husband sun aries moon libra AC scorpio venus aries mars taurus 1st husband sun pisces moon leo AC scorpio venus aquarius mars scorpio 1st true love sun scorpio moon gemini AC leo venus libra mars scorpio mike sun leo moon sagittarius AC scorpio venus virgo mars leo father of my youngest son sun aries moon taurus venus aries mars taurus AMAZING sex but he was a terrible kisser!!! my 1st boyfriend sun sagittarius moon taurus venus capricorn mars libra guy i'm having dinner with on Friday lol sun aries moon aries AC capricorn or virgo venus taurus (sign conjunct my mars) mars cancer (square my venus)
amazing how, with libra on my DC l never dated a libran sun man. My ex husband had libra moon and he drove me CRAZY with his wishy washy crap... honestly, l strangled him in my mind over a thousand times! Is it correct that the woman looks to her venus to find her male mate and the man looks at his mars? IP: Logged |

You really like the fix signs, especially Scorpio and Leo, don´t you? Well, there are several theories on where to look for your ideal partner.
One theory sais that a man should look at their Moon and Venus, and a woman should look at their Sun and Mars. But I have found that I feel majorly attracted to my Venus-connections. I actually prefer the theory of looking at DSC and 5th house for the partner; the good thing about this is that it doesn`T matter if you are hetero or gay or whatever. DD IP: Logged |

hmmm.. yes, l do like my fixed signs. No idea why seeing as most of my planets are in cardinal!well my sun/mars is in taurus and i've never dated a taurean either! neither someone of my DC. My 5th house is cancer (placidus) and i've never dated a cancerian... although this guy on Friday has got his mars in cancer so who knows. If he is a cappy AC then his 7th is cancer ruled and his 5th is taurus! Doesn't seem to be any kind of pattern for me, l have to say!

WEll, I do see some kind of pattern; just look HOW often you were with a man with Mars in Taurus, Scorpio or Leo! Where is the ruler of your 5th house and what aspects does it make.
Well, I see it is in Aries and : ex husband: Sun in aries, Moon in Libra nd Venus in Aries 1st husband: doesn`t really fit here, but has AC and Mars in Scorpio 1st true love Venus in Libra Sun and Mars in Scorpio Mike: ASC in Scorpio (Sun and Mars in Leo)
father of your youngest son: Sun in Aries Moon in Taurus Venus in Aries Mars in Taurus
1st boyfriend: Moon in Taurus Mars in Libra guy: Sun and MOon in Aries Venus in Taurus I`d say you have an Aries-Scorpio-thing going on (the opposite signs are always complimentary). I don`t really get the Leo though, which house is ruled by sun in your chart?
BTW how can the sex be good, if he couldn`t kiss? DD IP: Logged |

lara- it makes perfect sense to me that a very cardinal person would be attracted to the fixed signs...you're a great starter, but for sustained attention you need fixed signs...we(i'm leo!) are really good at keeping things going!myown chart has a sextile between mars/venus, but they are BOTH semisextile my sun. the most obvious effect? that every aspect to one of these planets is felt differently by the others...very frustrating, really, when a gorgeous trine of the sun is squaring venus, etc! though the hard times always have some benefits to offer...but a smooth love life is not in my stars (sigh)... placidus - my taurus sun is in 1st/mars ruled equal - my taurus sun is in 2nd/venus ruledI don't get the leo thing either... it made sense if l was leo AC but with aries AC (i'm def Aries) it doesn't! He was just so Arian in bed... yet he was so bad at kissing, l don't know it was weird. IP: Logged |

Well, the ARies thing makes sense, since the ruler of your 7th house seems to be in Aries in 1st house. Very Arian. Maybe the Leo is an attraction via the trine? It is the same element after all. Where is Leo in your chart, is it on the cusp of your 6th house? or Intercepted in 5th house? What does make a good kiss btw? IP: Logged |

Lara,I think a man looks to his Venus and a woman to her Mars for what type of mate they want. At least that is what they say on cafeastrology.com.
------------------ Virgo Asc & Mars Gemini Sun Libra Moon (conjunct Pluto 0º in 2nd house) Gemini Mercury Cancer Venus And yes, i'm a guy! IP: Logged |

Yes, GG, that is one of the theories. It doesn`t always work though. But then what does work ALWAYS? Lara,
no problem, take this thread wherever you want. have you looked if you fit into each other`s partner patter. I mean, look where the ruler of your 5th and 7th houses are and see if he has something to offer in that respect. It doesn`t have to be just signs, could be houses or aspects, too.
Example: Ruler of 7 in 1 (we share that It hink) a good candidate could have: - Sun, MOon, Mars, ASC in Aries - Sun, Moon, Mars in 1st house - ruler of 1st house in 1st house - ruler of 1st house conjunct Mars (or in strong aspect to Mars) (sometimes we are also attracted to the complimentary opposite, Venus or Libra in that example. But it depends on the rest of the chart; for example I do also have a certain attraction for Venusian men, but my Mars is conjunct my ASC, so someone with Venus on ASC would complement my Mars on ASC - with reversed roles though). And for good sexual connection the ruler of 5th house could be interesting. Also which planets are in 5th house. I`m terribly boring: Both, ruler of 7th as well as 5th house are in 1st house. But ruler of DSC is in Sagittarius, and ruler of 5th house is in Capricorn. (I think the sign does influence this, too) IP: Logged |

Yes, of course. A few years ago I woiuld have sworn I am NOT drawn to my Mars and Sun-sign (Sagittarius), but since then I had to take that back,a s all at once men with high Sagittarius-emphasis have become very magnetic to me. Just like I had a period, when I was drawn to Arians like the moth to a flame, and boy did I burn, everytime I came to close to an Arian - guy. IP: Logged |

Taurean make you fall asleep? lol However, both theories may hold true under certain circumstances, but I have the DSC-theory work more often than the other one.
But often both will work. Just I believe that Venus shows what we are attracted to REGARDLESS of gender. But then as I said, she rules my 5th ho use, so that may also be a factor. IP: Logged |
