Is there a sign you notice that never really wants to eat? Ive noticed this with gemini influenced people, sometimes theyll eat like 1 thing off something expensive they ordered, and not finish it. drives me nuts.

I always say I don't live to eat, I just eat to live. If eating were optional, I'd mostly just opt out.

I cannot cook nor do I have any interest in cooking (baking and dessert making is another story though. Love doing that!)

I am an extremely picky eater also. I could probably count the things I like to eat on both hands. My friends tease me and say that I just eat 'Faerie Food' - fruit, veggies, nuts, bread, and chocolate. I agree hehe!

I've never really thought to analyze why I am like this...
Let's see, I do have a 29* Gem Asc which does indeed put Cancer on my 2nd house cusp.
I have only 1 earth sign which is Mercury (my chart ruler) in Virgo. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not.
Uummm, Scorpio on my 6th house cusp. Neptune in Sagi inside my 6th.
Maybe Saturn in my 2nd opposite my Moon in the 8th?

If I have ordered something I would finish it. It would probably be something non expensive and it would certainly be something I am familiar with. The only time I might not finish something is if I get roped into going somewhere that I am not familiar with and have to try a new food. There's a good chance I probably won't like it and would not finish it. I am completely unadventurous when it comes to food!

`Who are you?' said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, `I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.'

I agree with the above posts! My Grandma, who is a Gemini doesn't eat much and I'm like that too with Gem rising. Eating is too much of a chore at times and I can have one meal a day and it doesn't bother me. There are some foods I just love. Most of the time I get very bored with my food and can't stand the same stuff, week in and week out. I quite enjoy trying different foods from many cultures.

My boyfriend on the other hand loves his food and when he was growing up he would eat the same stuff over and over again.....I've been introducing different foods to him and so far he likes it!

I have venus in gemini. I eat lightly.
I think people put way too much emphasis on food. I find it somewhat barbaric or too self indulgent or something. I feel more etheric if I eat lightly.

I'm Gem rising and I eat only a little bit in one sitting. I generally eat little bits here and there throughout the day.

I do love food, though. I generally don't think too much about it. I eat when I'm hungry and I stop when I'm full. I've never been on a diet.

It saddens me when I hear people say they don't care much for food, like I'm hurt & offended on food's behalf. I feel the same way when people say they don't care if they ever have sex again.

Like many in this thread have mentioned, I've noticed that those with a strong air influence frequently fall in this category. My sister has an Aqua moon & Gem asc. She does love food, wine, and trying new restaurants but even though she enjoys food, she has a very small appetite.

A friend of mine with a Libra sun & moon once equated eating with bodily functions, like going to the bathroom. He said he enjoys both of them equally, and wouldn't do either if he didn't have to. Blasphemy!

A close friend with a Libra sun & Gem asc has said similar things to me, less crudely.

Hmm... I'm a vegan, and i am an EXTREMELY picky eater.

But i'm also a Leo...

With Venus in Cancer

With Mars in Taurus.

So, going by the textbook, shouldn't i want to eat rich, fatty, home-cooked foods? Or is there something in my chart that i should look for to indicate otherwise?

I was a very picky and light eater as a child, and I wouldn't be interested in finishing whatever was on my plate. I just really didn't care much about food (except for fatty carbohydrate junk food, ie potato chips, fish and chips - and at the other end of the scale, homemade vegetable soup). Then suddenly when I was around 19 I had this overwhelming desire for FOOD... mostly in the 'comfort food' category, like macaroni cheese, that kind of thing. I remember finding it hard to get to sleep one night because I was thinking about/craving McDonalds. o.o I gained quite a bit of weight around that time, but lost it again soon after. And then, when I was around 25 I started to discover new foods that I liked, and I'm still discovering new foods. So, now looking back on my entire childhood I find it hard to believe that I really didn't care about food. I'm a Taurus with Venus in Gemini - so I do have that Gemini influence. However my bf who is a Gemini stellium is pretty obsessed with food if you ask me.

I think maybe my mother's home cooking was just too much meat and too plainly-flavoured for me a lot of the time. She still seems to prefer blander foods than I do. But each to their own.

My Virgo ex hardly eats at all. No breakfast, and usually no lunch except for maybe a piece of toast.

saturn in taurus, i think. i have saturn and mars in taurus in 2nd house and i'm either of the two extremes - i either don't want to eat at all (saturn) or i want to eat everything (mars).

GemLov - Oh thank god. I was having a spiritual crisis. Maybe we should cook something tasty for 26Taurus to lure her to the foodie's side.

jane - you drama queen! That pic was funny! Teheehee.

I think both Mercury ruled signs aren't good eaters. Gemini just won't bother and Virgo will pick at it, resulting in deciding not to bother too. They eat because they have to.

A good way to recognized a high Mercury content in a child is when they a fussy eaters, I heard. i am a fussy eater and I drove me mum nuts growing up. Now i am vegetarian bordering on Vegan.

And i will not eat something, I will not endure a meal if it is bad. i would rather starve, or something. So, personally, I eat little generally. Sun Virgo, Venus Virgo, Mercury in 12th, amongst other things that make me prefer to think about food than to eat food because most of the time... it never meets my standards.

Seriously, I don't see why i should eat unless it is going to be a godly experience. Food and sex are one to me, come to think of it.

lol, I agree Jane!

About Saturn in Taurus though - my bf is a Gemini stellium with Saturn in Taurus, and he really eats a lot. He loves food and is always trying to take food off other people's plates... maybe his Aries rising changes things or something??

Yes, I quite like him too. What would you guess his Asc is? He best matched my befuddlement when 26Taurus said she...said she...
Oh I can't even bear the thought.

I respect fussy eaters. I freely admit to being a food snob. But that just makes me really love the good stuff, and there's so much good stuff out there.

My Virgo brother loves food and has a big appetite. He has high standards, though. Avoids fast food like the plague and only regularly visits restaurants that use fresh, high quality ingredients. His nickname growing up was The Critic because of how he'd always critique my parents' cooking, both of whom fancy themselves top-notch cooks (and they're right). My whole family really respects good, fresh food.

When people say they don't like eating, the nurturer in me wants to sit them down and show them how it should be.

is your bf's Gem stellium in his 2nd or 3rd house?

I just remembered that my other brother is heavily air (Aqua sun, Gem moon & asc) and he loves food, any and all, even junk food. So I guess air signs alone aren't enough to kill the appetite.

{{{{hugs}}}} jane.

Well, I would only make you feel worse if I carry on talking. I don't hate food but there are so many types of food that I do hate that if an avg was calculated, I would belong to the group of people who hate food.

But, the truth is I don't hate it really, but it seems like I do because I am seriously always frowning at food, unless I get a good looking plate - but even then, I still can't relax since I have seen many a good looking plate taste awful. I am just fussy. There is nothing worse than a memory of bad food, that flashback of remembering something that tasted nasty makes me shudder most of the time.

That's why I hate chocolate. My first taste at chocolate was traumatic and I have never liked it ever since. I feel sick just thinking about it.

Thank you for the hugs. You are very compassionate. I would feel even better if you could use your moderator powers (muahaha) to cut 26Taurus's name down to just "26." I will instead become guardian of that word and become janeTaurus. Fair, yes?

I'm seriously tempted to hold a dinner party for all you food haters, I kid you not. I'd sit at the head of the table like The Pale Man, and if anyone didn't convert to loving food, I'd chase you down the hall and out of my house. That will only make sense if you've seen "Pan's Labyrinth." Now please, don't go and tell me that you've seen it and hated it. I am in a fragile state right now and can only take so much.
