Gee Whiz,It's not a curse!! We are all born with positives, negatives, gifts and difficulties in our charts. If you study the millions of different energies that can be expressed by the combination of Saturn and Neptune you will also see the positives. When someone is dealing with a difficult aspect in their chart, it helps to shape their life, it's all about life development and learning.
Example: John F. Kennedy had a Saturn-Neptune conjunction closely conjunct his Midheaven. Yes, part of those energies manifested as his back issues and Addison's disease, but those difficult times he had in hospitals and lying around didn't stop him from rough housing with his brothers, playing touch football, carousing, philandering, etc. There is a power element to it, a charisma, the photogenic publicity, his sailing skill, control on the water, Neptune=compassion, Saturn=Authority, the man was a compassionate leader.
I don't want to smooth over the fact that some aspects are very hard, but we must learn that over time we learn to work with difficult aspects like they are tools. Hammers, saws, sharp instruments, they don't all feel good and some of them are very difficult to use, you must building muscle to weild a sledge hammer properly, to chop down a tree without hurting yourself, to use a jack hammer or hot welding tools, you need to learn how to use them first.
Challenge your friend to find the positivity in this midpoint picture you've discovered. Yes, depression and possible health issues are the difficulties, now really dig into this internet/computer tool you have before you and find the positives.
Hmm...Neptune and Saturn
Neptune melts things, dissolves things, it's misty, veils things, it's chemicals and chemistry, visualization, feet, dancing, romance, etc.x 1,000,000,000.
Saturn is structure, solids, rocks, walls, rules, discipline, skin, bones, teeth, boundaries, gems, cold, ice, snow, etc.x 1,000,000,000.
Neptune/Saturn - photography, excellent visualization skills, glass blowing, sand sculpture, what else?
