I have often read that an unaspected Venus in a synastry would mean that the love is onesided.

Example: A makes multiple aspects to B´s Venus. B doesn`t make any aspects to A`s Venus. In such a case B would be very attracted to A, but A wouldn`t feel that way about B.

Now I have looked at some celebrity charts of people who loved each other. I looked only at major aspects and planets within 5° aspecting each other`s Venus.

William Randolph Hearst - Marion Davies:
these two never married (because his wife didn`t agree to get divorced), but they have been living together for many years despite their gigantic age-difference (34 years). Apparently they genuinely loved each other.

his Venus:
conjunct her Mars
conjunct her Pluto
trine her MC

her Venus:
squares his ASC (the ONLY aspect of her Venus!)

Elisabeth Browning - Robert Browning:

her Venus:
squares his Venus 83)

his Venus:
squares her Venus
conjuncts her MC
squares her AC
trine her Saturn
conjunct her SN
opposes her Jupiter

There is only 1 aspect to her Venus.

Edward VII - Wallis Simpson:

his Venus:
opposes her Uranus

her Venus:
no aspects

only 1 Venus-aspect in total, and he abdicated for her!

F. Scott Fitzgerald - Zelda Fitzgerald:

His Venus:
trine her Neptune (but 5°, which is very wide for a trine to an outer planet)

her Venus:
trine his MOon (4)
trine his Uranus (3)

Johnny Cash - June Carter:

his Venus:
sextiles her MErcury
squares her Pluto

her Venus:
squares his Jupiter

Very little aspects for such an enormous love!

Honestly, the absence of strong close Venus aspects for ONE person doesn`t seem to be a very reliable sign of the lack of attraction.

I suspect that in those cases, the rulers of 7 or 5 will make some aspects and point to the attraction.

You whistle to my tune, love goblin.

EXACTLY! I think that is what will cause much attraction; you seek outside, what you have inside, and if you find it outside in another person, it feels like this one fulfills you (of course it is just a reflection of your own being).

For example: I have much Jupiter-influence, as Sun, MErcury, Mars, ASC, NN and DSC-ruler are all in Sagittarius and Jupiter is squaring my Mars and ASC and NN.

And in all my synastries I have always felt drawn to people, which were aspecting my Jupiter.

I think the ruler of 7th and 5th houses play a special role here, too.

I hear you.

It`s almost ridiculous, but every single of my "life altering" infatuations, had a square between Sun and Saturn in the synastry, very tight ones, too.

And my best friend and me share even a DW of Moon-Saturn (opposition and square). WE`ve been friends for over 17,18 years now, more than half of my life!

Now, I am not a very Saturnian person, so that surprises me a bit. But I once read that Saturn is the polar counterpart of Jupiter. I also have Moon exactly quinkunx Saturn and Saturn is the handle of my bucket chart, and it is the only planet in the western hemisphere. So maybe that`s the reason?
Or my Venus in Capricorn?

ACtually it`s rather hard to single out ONE dominant planet in my chart, because t here are so many emphasized:

Jupiter: through Sagittarius planets and Jupiter square

Uranus: through Moon in Aquarius and Uranus conjunct its own cusp

Neptune: through conjuncting ASC, Mars and NN and the chartruler and ruler of all my Sag-planets being in Pisces; Jupiter and Neptune in mutual reception

Pluto: through conjunction MC, sextiling Mars, ASC, NN and squaring Venus.

I told you, it`s difficult to single one out. Well, I guess the one planet that is not emphasized is Moon, which is in Aquarius in 2nd house, only quinkunxing Saturn.

Sun is rather strong through being in 1st house and conjunct DSC-ruler (but not overly strong)

Mercury is not weak, because it is conjunct Sun in 1st house and is DSC-ruler itself; also my chartruler is in 3rd house (as a matter of fact, I also NEED Mercury-aspects in my synastries; they make me go gaga)

Venus is complicated, as it is in Capricorn in 1st house squaring Pluto; but she rules 5th and 10th house.

So what would be the strongest planet here?

(My guess? Jupiter and Neptune; Mercury because of the relation to the 7th house, and maybe Pluto, because it is elevated on MC and squaring the ruler of 5th house, Venus).
