I am in a lot of pain right now, and I was just wondering what transits you guys would attribute to my current difficulties? Maybe the Uranus square Saturn?

I knew I had to finally go see a dentist, because of a broken tooth. In addition to me needing a root canal, it was also abscessed. They gave me a referral to an endodontist. I need to say here that I am a dental coward. If I went to the dentist more often, I wouldn’t be having these problems. I realize that, and have been beating myself up over that fact.

Anyway, they put me on Penicillian a week before the root canal, just to clear up the infection. I had the root canal on August 25th. Lots of novacaine and nitrous oxide…no pain. They gave me another week’s prescription for Penicillian, because there was a lot of infection. But after a week of the second dose of Penicillian, I called them back and told them that my face was still swollen bad, and I didn’t think the Penicillian was kicking the infection. So they gave me a prescription for Cleocin/Clindamycin, which is pretty strong. So I started taking that, and the swelling went down, and I thought I was home free. It would all settle down, and I would be able to go back to the regular dentist for the crown.

When I got home from work on Wednesday night, I noticed my knees were swollen really bad, and the joints were starting to hurt. I iced them, and figured I would feel better in the morning. I ended up taking Thursday off work, because I was in so much pain. They were still swollen, like I had arthritis or something, and I wasn’t able to walk upright, like they couldn’t bear the weight of my body. So I hobbled around my house bent over like a 100 year old woman, just barely able to walk. I continued with the ice, Aleve, and had started taking the pain pills they gave me for the root canal.

When I got up on Friday morning, my left eye was swollen shut with gunk, and the eye was red. I thought, oh crap...I’ve got pink eye. What else is coming? And now I can barely walk.

I got up this morning, and went to the emergency room because I was in so much pain. I drove myself to the hospital, and hobbled across the parking lot with tears streaming down my face. The nicest part of the day was when they brought me a wheelchair. The doctor looked at my knees and said, “that is acute arthritis”. I told her I was fine on Wednesday, that this all just happened since Wednesday night. And I proceeded to tell her about the abscessed tooth, the root canal, the infection that wouldn’t go away, etc.

They did all sorts of blood work, etc. My white blood cell count was very high, so I know that my body is trying to fight the infection. She gave me a prescription for another antibiotic, and some pain pills. She said that the original infection triggered an inflammation in my body, which then triggered my immune system, or my auto immune system, which triggered the arthritis in my knees, and the conjunctivitis in my eye, and oh yeah, also a bladder infection. She felt that if they got the infection under control, that the arthritis would calm down. That right now it was at an acute stage, and that is why I am in so much pain. I am just really concerned, because I have been on antibiotics for 3 weeks, and there is still infection.

I guess I always took my knees for granted. I always thought they would be there for me. They sort of affect all movement. Sitting, standing, rolling over in bed. I always took being able to walk for granted too.

I am typically really healthy. Just go to the doctor once a year for girl stuff. Certainly wasn’t expecting this. I went to the pharmacy to have all the prescriptions filled, and I bought a cane.

And I cried all the way home. First it was my relationship, now it's my health. I just can't seem to pick my life up. There just doesn't seem to be much left.

I'm sorry. I can never have the right words in these situations. If only you could feel how reading your ordeal made me feel.

the antibiotics could take that long to work depending on the dosage coupled with how strong the infection but if you feel it not working, go back to the hospital and have the antibiotics administered intravenously because it works quicker that ingesting pills. Also, if you are against pain killers, make this an exception to your rules because this is not just a headache. pain can really take the joy out of life and you need your mind at ease to heal faster.

again, I'm so sorry about all of this. Just know, even though it may not show, that you are recovering as we speak but all this medical stuff is to assist the body to do what it was going to do anyway, that is, to heal.

I think its that neptune stuff over your n-chiron for some reason, neptune rules medication/drugs. Also you have t-moon squ chiron. Chiron in your 3rd, you are feeling maybe for the time being (short time, moon moves fast), emotional pain that has to be talked about (chiron in 3rd). Chiron return to come soon?

Also pluto rx in first might have something to do it, as it is affecting you personally and is trine your n-mars, maybe somehow intensifying it. Otherwise, inflammation is ruled by mars and there is nothing happening with mars in your chart as such, or at least t-mars. Venus is the ruler of the 6th and venus will have squ by t-sun/t-saturn, probably restricting and maybe inflaming your health somehow.

Square between n-saturn and t-uranus. Maybe some "clash" or suprise with teeth, joints, knees, structure, skin.

Get better soon!

Wow, Val -- what a load of health challenges you're going thru!!

I know what you mean about taking one's knees for granted -- about 6 weeks ago I injured my knee and it's been a long road back..... I still go down stairs very carefully, one step at a time (step down with bad knee, step down to the same step with good knee)

I hope the new antibiotics kick in and you're feeling like yourself real soon.

I'm sorry to hear that you are in pain. The teeth and bones are associated with Saturn, plus the knees, too. So my guess is this is somehow related to Saturn, which is associated with blockages. Is there something in your life that feels constricted or blocked? Knee problems sometimes point to stubbornness or pride. One underlying cause of physical aches is the longing to be held or loved. I sincerely hope you get well soon. Think positive thoughts, it will help your body cure itself.

Venus,

I'm very sorry to hear about your current health problems. As someone who has had a couple of chronic illnesses and some pain for the past 15 years, I can understand your situation.

Transiting Saturn (bodily weakness, limitations) is in a less than 2 degree advancing orb to conjunct your progressed Sun (vitality) in Virgo (health), which can indicate a time of lower vitality and a time when your ability to fight off infections is reduced. This aspect will peak in a couple more weeks. Saturn rules structures such as the bodily proteins, teeth, bones, and skin. You have transiting Uranus, unexpected changes, squaring Saturn in the first house. Saturn in the 1st house will pick up some Aries tendencies, which rules the head, face and inflammation.

Transiting Neptune (weakness, white corpuscles) is conjuncting Chiron (wounded healer) and opposing Mercury, the ruler of your 10th house. The 10th house rules bones and knees. Mercury rules sight. The right eye is ruled by Moon and the left eye by the Sun in females. Eyes in general are ruled by the Sun, the Moon, the 1st house, and Aries. Progressed Moon just finished opposing natal Saturn in the 1st house, transiting Uranus is squaring progressed Moon, and transiting Saturn is about to conjunct progressed Sun.

Transiting Pluto (transformation) is retrograde (internalized energies) and stationary (strong). It's trining (easy and flow) your Mars in Aries at a zero degree orb. Mars rules the head, infection, pain and inflammation. Trines are not always an easy aspect. They are lazy and will take the easy way out, and thus they create an ease and flow between the planetary energies.

Knees are ruled by Saturn, Capricorn and the 10th house. As mentioned above, you have transiting Uranus squaring Saturn. Transiting Pluto is also squaring the MC, allowing a transformation of your knees. And, as mentioned you have transiting Neptune opposing the ruler of the 10th house, Mercury.

You may or may not know, that your mind is a strong fighter where health matters are concerned. If you keep upbeat and positive this can help your body's ability to fight infections and to boost your immunity. Humour and laughter also can help, which is easier said than done when you are in a lot of pain. Along with the antibiotics, you could try eating ginger or drinking ginger ale or tea. It's a natural way to reduce inflammation in the body. Turmeric is another one.

Transiting Pluto goes direct on the 8th of September, and starts to move off of your Mars. Hopefully, that will be a time when the inflammation and infection in your body begin to reduce themselves.

I'm sending some healing vibes and prayers your way for a speedy recovery. And, I hope you feel much better very soon.

Hi Valerie,

I'm so sorry to hear this information, it just hit me like a ton of bricks. I want to just tag along with everyone else in wishing you a speedy recovery because it can happen.

I want to direct your attention to a current Solar Arc, I'll show you how to see it.

You just turned 50 this year. If you look at where Neptune is in your chart, at 2 degrees Scorpio, count ahead of that 50 additional degrees. That will bring your Neptune to 22 degrees Sagittarius.

But here's a trick. With Solar Arcs, if a person is born in the summer, the Arc is slower. By the time you are 30, your Arc loses 1 degree. As you approach 60 you will have lost 2 degrees.

In your chart right now, Solar Arc Neptune is right on your Saturn at 20 degrees 11 minutes, because we only count 48 degrees ahead. That puts your Solar Arc Neptune right on your natal Saturn. A Solar Arc usually has an influence of about 6 months as it approaches the exact degree to the minute and can diminish for about 3 months after it passes the exact conjunction, so you don't have much more time left with this one, but it seems to have kicked in very strongly over the last few weeks, as you are explaining it.

Saturn rules knees, teeth, skin, bones.

Neptune dissolves hard structures and when it touches Saturn in anyway, you can get anything from teeth issues, bone issues, skin issues, structural issues, etc.

But the good news is that Neptune rules holistic healing. YEEESSSSS!!!!! So, the holistic suggestions that everyone is giving here may help you tremendously. Also, someone here made the excellent suggestion that when Pluto moves away from your Mars, the inflammation should subside.

I want to share an experience with you that I had, it's nothing like what you're going through now, but it is a little similar.

About 10 years ago I caught a really bad cold/flu and it took a long time to clear from my system. It was accompanied by aches in my bones, knees and hips. When it was completely gone I still had pain in my left hip. I decided that it was just a part of getting older and since arthritis runs in my family I resigned myself to accepting it.

One day, I decided to try the "Fit For Life" diet for another health reason. The only dietary change I made, for gentleness sake, was to eat only fruit in the mornings. I started doing that in a gentle way, orange juice or an apple or pear or whatever in the morning right up until lunch time. After ONE WEEK the pain in my hip was completely GONE!! Never to return again. I wasn't even trying to heal that, but it did that. A lot of other health issues I had began to disappear as well.

I don't want to tell you that it's the same answer for you, but I just wanted to let you know that it's possible. If you have any ideas or remember anything that you have done for yourself in the past that worked in a similar (even without trying), go for it.

Your body has been loaded with drugs (also ruled by Neptune) for a few weeks now, those are foreign substances that your body isn't used to in such concentrated levels, they killing infection (also ruled by Neptune) but they are also killing other protectors in your body. But we have to do what we have to do sometimes. Having faith can be painful sometimes, but we have to have it.

So I want you to keep in mind that this does not have to be permanent, no matter what the doctors may tell you, you can ride this out. This internet is a miraculous tool for research into all kinds of holistic remedies, etc.

We are all thinking of you and sending you good energy, good vibes and strong prayers.

Geocosmic Valentine

Hi vig ~

What Geo wrote reminded me to suggest that after your course of antibiotics is over, either get a bottle of GOOD quality Probiotics -- it's recommended the bottle states that there are at least ten million live cultures in the caps -- or eat a lot of yogurt to repopulate your intestinal tract, since the antibiotics destroy both friendly/good bacteria and the bad kind.....

FAQ's:

There are some fascinating articles here (even though it's a plug for their product):

Thanks so much to everyone! All of the positive thoughts and comments mean so much to me, especially since I have been going through this tough period the last couple of years where I felt so alone and isolated, with no one in my life. And now this health crisis on top of that, has sort of dropped me down to a rough place.

My family is all out of state, so everyone in my life is a phone call. And the man that I was involved with didn't want to commit to a real relationship, kept it very part time. So even when I was still seeing him, he wasn't really in my life. Wasn't there for me.

I have been trying to eat more healthy the last couple of years, and cut out a lot of sugar, etc from my diet. I will usually try something herbal or a holistic remedy rather than a medication if at all possible. And now my body has been filled with antibiotics and pain killers since the root canal, none of which seems to be doing a good job with getting rid of the infection. I kind of hate to be at the mercy of the medical community, but it seems I have no choice right now.

I have been watching Louise Hay's video, "You Can Heal Your Life". She's all about positive thoughts and visualization. It's very uplifting, and I have been playing it whenever I drop so low and I cry. It helps.

My daughter just called me, and she is coming home for the week to help me. She is a grad student working on her PhD, and is also a Teaching Assistant. But she told her professors that she needed to take the week off and go home. I cried when she told me that, because I hate to disrupt someone else's life. Or maybe just having to admit that I need help. That it is so bad I can't take of myself right now.

Thanks again for everyone's kind thoughts and prayers! Your comments mean the world to me.

Venus in gemini,

I am truly very sorry for all of the pain you've endured! It looks everyone has given you pretty good information on the transits so I'll just give you a few tips on handling the pain:

1. Drink plenty of 100% Cranberry juice to ease the bladder infection.

2. For the knee pain, wear an ace bandage around your knee to keep it well supported. Keep your knees elevated by resting them on a pillow.

Hey guys. Just wanted to update everyone on how I am doing. It just seems to be getting progressively worse. It started in my knees, but has moved through my body. The doctors are trying to regulate pain, so they keep trying different pain meds in combination with Celebrex. And this is almost 6 weeks on antibiotics. The last two were Clindamycin and Leviquin. They gave me an antibiotic shot yesterday of Rocephin, and also a steroid shot of Dexamethesone. The steroid helped me walk a little better without the pain, but it has already worn off. And they can’t get me in to see a rheumatologist until September 25th. They have me on so much stuff for the pain that it’s making me sick. I have been taking ginger to help my stomach. For anyone who knows about lab results, my white blood cell count is at 16,000, and my Sedimentation Rate was at 78 when they did the blood work at the Emergency Room on Saturday, and now it’s up to 98. Apparently the Sed Rate shows the inflammation in my body.

I’m just overwhelmed at this point. I try to live really healthy with fruits, vegetables, herbals, etc. Maybe an Advil every once in a while for a headache. All I keep thinking is my body is being filled up with so many chemicals and narcotics. None of which really seems to be helping. They want to order me a wheelchair so I can get around the house. I have missed 7 days of work, so my boss is getting ready to do the paperwork for a Leave of Absence, because you have to go on LOA if you use 10 days of sick leave. So a couple more weeks would be paid, but then I would go into Short Term Disability, which I think is 50% of your paycheck. I don’t know about you guys, but I definitely need more than 50% of my paycheck to pay my bills.

Another thing I wanted to ask everyone’s opinion about was the Solar Eclipse on August 1st. It hit my Sun/Moon Midpoint at 9 Leo in the 8th house. And my Uranus is at 10 Leo in the 8th. Do you see any of those aspects as part of this? I’m not sure about the 8th house and my health. I guess that would be more of a 6th house thing. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I just wanted to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I need all the help I can get right now.

Val, I'm sorry to hear that you aren't doing well. Please try and hang in there. I have had the sedimentation test before when they suspected that I might have Sjogren's, but my test result was only 5. Is the ginger helping you and your stomach? Have the doctors given you a medical reason for an elevated white count? Do they believe that you have an autoimmune disease or something else?

As you mentioned, the 6th house rules health, but the 1st, 8th and 12th houses can all play a role in your health as well. The 1st rules the physical body; the 8th rules surgery, transformation, degeneration, and regeneration; and the 12th rules long-term serious illnesses, mental health issues, and hospitals. All of the houses correspond to certain parts of the body as well.

The August 1st solar eclipse that took place on your natal Uranus, which is also your Sun/Moon (the lights) midpoint, may have played a role in your current health problems. The 8th house is transformation, Uranus is sudden change and the sign that this took place in is Leo. This means the dispositor of the conjunction was your Sun. The Sun rules vitality. Your natal Sun is afflicted by being the focal point of a Mars/Neptune opposition. A Mars/Neptune opposition can indicate that sometimes your energies are low and you are prone to infection and inflammation at times because of the squares to your Sun.

On September 19th, transiting Saturn conjuncts your progressed Sun in Virgo (health) at a zero degree orb. That aspect is also indicating that your vitality is still reduced. After that date, it will be a separating aspect, so maybe, hopefully, that will be a turning point for you on the road to full diagnosis and recovery.

Please keep us up to date on how you doing, if you feel up to it. It may help you to talk about what's happening, so you can release your frustrations. Still wishing your a speedy and complete recovery. (((HUGS)))

Thank you Astroleolady. The doctor's believe that the abscessed tooth started all of it. That the infection from the tooth just moved through my system, and caused all this inflamation (the high sedimentation rate), which triggered my auto immune system, which triggered the arthritis. The diagnosis was Reiter's Syndrome, or Reactive Arthritis. I am actually having the tooth pulled on Monday the 15th, because they think there is still some infection there, and that is why the white blood cell count is so high.

I'm just so scared, because the arthritis is moving so quickly through my body. This just showed up on Wednesday, September 3rd as a little swelling in my knee. By Saturday, September 6th, I went to the Emergency Room because I was in so much pain, and it had moved to both knees. Now it is in both my feet/ankles, and my hands and arms. I almost can't hold a glass of water. They have ordered a wheelchair for me so I can get around the house. I have essentially become crippled, and unable to care for myself in the space of 10 days.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers...because I am really scared.

Let me tell you now. Antibiotics never get rid of an abscessed tooth. They cause the poison to drain inwards.
I am so annoyed that you have been forced to endure this and now your whole system is poisoned. Insane.
I went through the same years ago until some sensible dentist drilled a small hole in the infected tooth to allow the crap to drain outwards.
Instant relief.
He told me to suck and spit and rinse repeatedly with Corsydl and then he would fill it in a week.
Worked brilliantly.
I cannot for the life of me think why dentists refuse to do this.
It's just bloody common sense.
why do they insist on leaving that poison trapped inside your body without allowing it to drain away?
Morons!!!!

Val,

Thanks for explaining the diagnosis. It helps me understand that's happening to you both physically and astrologically. My brother has Reiter's Syndrome. He was exposed to a pathogen at university in a biology lab by his lab partner, who wasn't supposed to open a sample lid, but did it anyway and shoved it under my brother's nose. After the initial bout of arthritis, it did calm down with medications from a Rheumatologist. However, he has been left with some arthritis in his back. It didn't completely clear up, but it is very manageable with exercise and mild medications. He's not crippled and can lead a full life.

When you go to the Rheumatologist that maybe a question you might like to ask. Is this going to completely clear up? I'm hoping that it will because the infected tooth is what set it off the chain of events in the first place. I'm not a physician though, so they would have to give you their professional medical opinion on that. Good luck with getting the tooth extracted.

Arthritis is ruled by Saturn, just like your bodily structure, skin, bones, teeth, and knees are. You have transiting Uranus squaring your natal Saturn in the first house and transiting Saturn is conjuncting your progressed Sun in the sign of Virgo (health). Those would indicate why you are experiencing Reiter's Syndrome at the moment. And, as Geo mentioned, you have SA Neptune conjunct on that natal Saturn. So both the natal Saturn and the SA Neptune are getting a square from transiting Uranus. Uranus acts quickly, rapidly and unexpectedly. That would be one indication as to why you went downhill so fast.

Have you checked out the Mayo Clinic website for Reiter's Syndrome? It maybe useful and helpful.

I can certainly understand you being scared. I would be too. I would also be angry as well for having been through what you have already been through. You have my continued prayers and good thoughts.

Hey guys,
I just wanted to give you an update on how I am doing. It has been a month since I was hit with the “Reactive Arthritis” that the doctors feel was a direct result of the abscessed tooth. I don’t know if you remember, but this happened within a week of the root canal on that tooth. The infection in my body was so severe, it caused my auto immune system to trigger this arthritis. I think the first day I called in sick to work was September 4th.

I can’t begin to tell you how scared I was. I was perfectly fine one day, with no health problems. I don’t even take Advil. And then the next day, to be essentially crippled. To be sitting in a wheelchair. It started in my knees, and just spread to my entire body, my feet, hands, arms, neck. I couldn’t walk. I couldn’t brush my hair, I couldn’t dress myself, and I couldn’t roll over in bed. Just trying to get up in the morning, and getting into the bathroom involved tears streaming down my face pain. The doctors had put me on antibiotics and narcotic pain pills, but nothing was helping the pain. I finally got in to see a Rheumatologist (arthritis specialist), and he put me on Prednisone, which is what they put the majority of arthritis patients on, because it helps with the inflammation. The doctor felt that if they could get the infection cleared up, that the inflammation would go down, and then the arthritis would calm down.

So there is definite improvement. The level of pain is no longer at the “tears streaming down my face” level. I can walk around the house with a cane. Really, really slowly, but I can walk. I’ve had family staying with me all month, and they just went home this weekend, so that in itself shows how much I have improved.

I hate being on all the drugs, but it’s a necessary thing right now. But I have started taking herbal stuff to help with infection and inflammation, and trying to build back my immune system. One of the drawbacks to Prednisone is that your body isn’t able to fight infection, so that is a concern.

I went to an oral surgeon and had the tooth pulled. He said he saw a hole in my jaw that opened up into my sinus cavity. One of the things he had told me before he pulled the tooth was that the only thing they worry about with upper molars is hitting the sinus cavity. That they have to be very careful, because the roots almost touch the sinus cavity. He feels that the endodontist broke into my sinus cavity when he did the root canal, and the infection went right up through my sinuses, and through my body. And if you think about it, this all happened within a week of the root canal.

Thank you to Geocosmic Valentine for explaining the Solar Arc transits. And kudos to Astroleolady, who looked at the transits, and told me that the August 1st Solar Eclipse hit my Uranus and my Sun/Moon Midpoint, in my 8th house, in Leo. With Uranus, it hit so fast. That the dispositor was the Sun, and that my Sun was being afflicted by the Mars/Neptune opposition. Transiting Saturn was also conjunct my Sun. Transiting Uranus was squaring my natal Saturn in the 1st house, and transiting Pluto squaring the MC. And I guess the Chiron return is also playing an important part in this too. Turning 50 was truly a watershed event.

I just wanted to thank everyone for your prayers and thoughts. I look like I am 80 years old when I walk….but at least I can walk again. I verbalize positive affirmations every day (Louise Hay). I am getting better every day. And I know I am on the mend, because I can sit at my computer now, and try to catch up on a month’s worth of Knowflakes messages and threads!

Hi VIG!

Welcome back. I'm glad that you are doing better now. How many times do you say the affirmations? I read somewhere that it is more effective if you do it 40 times... Wishing you a speedy recovery, good health and love.

Hi Venus in Gemini,

You look wonderful in that picture and I'm so happy to here that you are slowly getting better. One thing I want to mention to you is that even though Neptune can be a trouble maker in terms of infections and illness, it also rules "Holistic Healing and Remedies" and you seem to be using that side of Neptune coin now. That's awesome.

Keep getting better and don't let the world rush you through that process. We're so happy you're back home.

Wow - that's incredible! I have just been to the endodontist about a similar situation involving my sinus's. It's hard to believe that the teeth and sinus can have such an impact on health. It's scary! My situation manisfested after a bout of a really nasty flu that lingered for weeks. I was run-down due an incident involving a family member.

Because I've had an injury affecting my teeth, my sinus's started to niggle and cause some concern.

As a result of your challenging experience, I will do my best to keep a vigilant eye on my sinus condition. I take lashings of fish oil and other supplements, and hope to have surgery in about a year to sort it all out.

I'm so glad you're feeling better!!! Will you have a full recovery?

Thanks for letting us know how you've been doing!!!

Hey guys,
Thanks for everyone's kind words. I'm just thankful that it's getting better. They say you should live in gratitude, and that is just how I feel. Very grateful that it's slowly going away. Very grateful that I can walk again.

Oh, and the picture was taken this summer before I got sick. I don't think I would let anyone near me with a camera right now.

Thanks again to all of you for keeping me in your thoughts. I'm on prayer lists all over the world....!
