Apparantly transiting Saturn will be squaring or opposing my natal Mercury in Nov & lasting until mid-April. I have Mercury in the 7th w/ Gemini on the 7th house cusp. I am worried that this indicates problems for my relationship. I'm scared! Anyone have any advise or input about what else this could mean?

What house does Mercury rule? That could be illuminating. This thread might give you some ideas:
http://www.astrology-x-files.com/transits/saturn-op-mercury.html

It might be an external problem that effects your relationship and you have to work together to get through it. That's how similar has worked out for me (Uranus Square Venus in the 7th, Venus ruler of the 7th house.) So don't think this spells relationship doom because this isn't necessarily the case.

thanks blue, how do I find out what house Mercury rules? I thought that meant which house is Mercury in... which for me is the 7th. Am I confused (as usual)? hehe

Remember that squares don't automatically bode doom...they can be great puzzles, and when you solve them, they can lead to extraordinary breakthroughs. If you're on the lookout for communication challenges, you can figure out how to work through them.

It's the house that has Gemini or Virgo on the cusp, as those signs are ruled by Mercury.

I don't know if this will help, from CafeAstrology:

http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/rulersofhousesinhouses.html

quote:

The sign on a house cusp reveals the area of life in which the principle of that sign will be learned. The principle manifests in more than one area of life, since the ruler, or ROVING DELEGATE of that sign, carries the message to another house.

For example, with Virgo on the fourth and Mercury in the eleventh, the ruler of the fourth is in the eleventh. The same thing is true if Taurus is on the fourth and Venus is in the eleventh--the ruler of the fourth house is in the eleventh house, and the energy of the fourth flows to the eleventh.

Houses in the birth chart are thus linked together in interesting ways. The planetary ruler, or "roving delegate" of a house's sign acts as a messenger, bringing the energy from the house it rules to the house in which it is placed. Keep in mind that there are many different interpretations, or possible manifestations, of house rulers in houses.

The ruler of a house is also important for revealing what we do to "act out" the principles of that house. It shows how the matters of that house are realized, and thus relates very much to experiences. For example, the ruler of the tenth house shows what we do to carve out an identity for ourselves. The aspects that the ruler of a house makes help round out the whole picture. It is interesting to note the aspect, if any, between the ruler of the Ascendant, for example, and the Ascendant itself! If the ruler of the Ascendant is square the Ascendant itself, we usually have a person who is unsure about how he or she should behave. It can be difficult for others to know what to expect with this person, as he or she may be bold one day and timid the next.

The condition of the ruler of a house should not be underestimated. Its "condition" is determined by its position in the chart (on an angle for example), the sign it is in, and the aspects it makes.
