Mars in Capricorn keeps cropping up when I astro-snoop on sports stars:

When Usain Bolt was criticised for showboating I thought: he's a Leo, he means no harm.

And here's another, fellow Gemini, Rafa Nadal:

Feel free to contribute your own keen-eyed astro-observations.

Hmm, my Venus is in Capricorn, so maybe I should watch sports more often.

Dedication to astro-research, that's why, Kick It.

Now DarkDreamer is going to feel compelled to assist. I feel so guilty.

Ruining my theory is Roger with his shirt off, I mean Mars in Cancer.

Leo Sun but with Virgo Ascendant, hence his sportsmanlike modesty.

Just having checked, Britain's youngest ParaOlympian, Eleanor Simmonds, is also Mars in Cancer. A gold medal winner at just 13 years-old. Born 11th November.

Venus in Aries...loves himself.

I watch a lot of sport. I do a lot of astro-snooping. I have genuinely noticed a number of sportspersons have Mars in Capricorn. Not surprising really ~ dedicated, hard-working, capable of endurance, etc.

To investigate the matter further, we all have a choice:

1) Read "Les Influences des Astres" and write careful notes for future reference

2) Spend a few days swotting up on Wikipedia and sweating over flow charts

3) Share some pictures of bulging biceps with the bored-at-work LL happy gang

If people want to opt for 1 & 2, that is their business, and doesn't bother me one jot. However, I will happily continue with option number 3 if it is all the same to anyone else.

I`mnot into sports or athletes, but I guess my Capricorn Venus is into Capricorn Mars. So where are the promised Cappy`s?

Mars in Capricorn ~> Usain Bolt and Rafael Nadal, my mate who is into rocky climbing. He took me once, I quite enjoyed it.

All the examples so far are Cardinal Signs. Interesting, given the conclusion reached in "Les Influences des Astres", namely that sportspeople often have angular Mars.

But enough of that, here are Olympians Colin Jackson and Linford Christie.

now for some serious stuff.

this girl has been my favorite sportiest since she sat the first record back few years ago. I can't help but wonder what is it that makes her so superior to other professional athletes in the discipline. Yelena ISINBAYEVA rocks at jumping!

sun: gemini
moon: sco
venus: taurus
mars: libra

Can someone explain to me that despite my Mars in Sag (and Sun/Merc in the 9th) why I hate sports??

I only enjoy WATCHING soccer because the players are hot.

Other than that I rather watch/do Ballet.

If she was Cappy rising, it could explained by house rulers 1, 6 and 11.
1 being self, 6 being work and 11 being records.

Maybe if Scorpio was rising, that could indicate rulers 1, 3 and 11/8.

1st and 3rd denotes intelligence and also something to do with movement of hands, maybe even feet (3rd house)

Transits for both records points to Scorpio, with Mars return in the recent record and also Mars conjunct Pluto on the previous one earlier in the year.

If I had to pick a favourite sportsperson to watch it would probably be Martina.

I certainly enjoyed watching this one, her 20th Wimbledon title win, at the age of 46. Who else could equal that?
