.. a fitting chart for the end of the world?

I'm not taking it very seriously, but the news were kinda creepy

http://www.mynews.in/fullstory.aspx?storyid=9858 http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/the_way_we_live/article47094 77.ece http://news.smh.com.au/world/massive-physics-experiment-on-wednesday-20080908-4byr.html

The nice version:

quote:
The most complex scientific experiment ever undertaken, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will accelerate sub-atomic particles to nearly the speed of light and then smash them together, with the aim of filling gaps in our understanding of the cosmos.

It may also determine the outcome of novel theories about space-time: does another dimension - or dimensions - exist in parallel to our own?

- which makes me think about 2012 lol

The sensationalist & slightly scary version:

quote:
If critics are to be believed, the end of the universe will begin coming Wednesday, September 10, when the most powerful atom-smasher ever built comes into action located 300 feet underground near the French-Swiss border. In what could be the world’s biggest scientific experiment till date to know how the universe was born, speculations are rife that it will trigger the end of world and universe.

Here's a photo of it:

So what do you guys think about the chart?

Oh, you know how much junk has been generated down here about this! This is ridiculous! Apparently high speed particles that will be generated in the accelerator are commonly found in at higher atmospheres so there's nothing to get excited about.

And the chart looks more like someone getting an offer for sex on the basis of their appearance....

The 'end of the world' media coverage - is nuts lol

But I do hope something interesting happens for science, considering the amount of time and money it took to build.

I thought that as well.
Hey! Maybe we'll enter an exclusively love & sex dimension lol - Venus/Mars on Asc.

how dumb! I dont even think the world will come to an end and i live in australia so it will have to start on this end first lol

today is the 10th and the world hasnt ended so you can all relax lol

I think when the aquarian age kicks in its the end of a certain period but not where the world actually blows up or ends. Its the end of maybe some sort of cycle or a time of new beginnings.. And does anyone ehre know how big the universe is? Trillions of light years away its probably never ending and how can something destroy all of that!

There won't be any "smashing" yet, just some sort of "inauguration". So let's wait for what will happen in the coming months.

A comment in one forum:
"This thing got me Laid, I told this hot chick that today would possibly be the end of everything and asked to have some sexy time fun and she said yes. And I thought I wasn't going to get LAID this summer. Thanks LHC!! keep smashing those particles cause it helps me lots. I made something else "Collide" last night. Thanks again."

deux- that was funny. But how in the world did that girl fall for that "end of the world" line?

This has me wondering what I would do if the world was ending. I doubt that I'd be having sex though. Or maybe I would because I'd be stoned.

LOL Belgz

That actually suits the CHART! lol the LHC is getting people laid. How fitting for a Venus/Mars/ASC conjunction.

Have you noticed 'Large Hadron Collider' LEXI-z to:
- hard
- hard-on
- large
- load

"HE HAD A LARGE HARD-ON" lol

The even funnier thing is they were scared the LARGE HARD-ON would bring about a big BLACK HOLE.
