Hi guys,It bothers me somewhat (a lot) that people always seem to speak about Saturn conjunctions as the most difficult/terrible Saturn aspect, when according to my logic the opposition/square should be much more difficult. Just thinking and wondering... It would seem nicer to have Saturn working with you and for you (conjunction) than to have its force opposing you (or squaring it). ~ Lana IP: Logged |

Lana - do you have a stellium that Saturn is sitting on at the moment? What did you do about it? Let's get a positive from Saturn conjunctions then. I don't seem to recall using the words "terrible" or "horrible". IP: Logged |

Saturn teaches us lessons. Lessons are always easy to take. Lessons can make us stronger. The fact I have just had to say good-bye to my dysfunctional family has been a hard lesson to learn.Saturn is teaching me to not be so nice. To stand up to those who constantly use me as a door mat and abuse my good nature. Saturn is telling me to stand up to those who pi$$ me off. By the way, posting a thread straight after someone opens their heart is a great opportunity to use my Saturn conjunction as a strength.

I meant mainly aspects to the Sun.I have a tough Saturn natally, in conjunction with Chiron in Pisces in the 8th house, opposing my Sun&Uranus conjunction. At the moment transiting Saturn is in conjunction with my natal Sun&Uranus, and I'm getting a lot done and I have some structure whereas natally I have it in Pisces... Transiting Saturn in conjunction with my personal planets has never felt bad. It would be interesting to hear how Saturn oppositions differ from Saturn conjunctions (transits) according to your experience. IP: Logged |

Personally, I think tUranus oppositions can pack a punch, esp where Venus is concerned. My Venus (relationships) seems to have been hammered my tUranus then a tSaturn conjunction has exposed a reality which challenging, and a bitter pill to swallow. Relationships which are usually a source of delight, have taken on a sad actuality in work and family. Btw, I enjoyed 'venting' my feelings on your thread. I may take this newly found skill to work and tell someone something they need to hear!! I stand by what I said. So what was it that bothered you? IP: Logged |

heartily agrees with Koi - Saturn in activation of a (my) stellium even in conjuction has been really affecting my relationships also. Negativity from all sides. Accusations, comments from whom you least expect and here I wonder, what is it? What is it I am suppossed to be learning and or doing differently. It seems like opposition at every turn and yes like if I push one stinking domino over...there goes the whole house of cards. I mean it could be other aspects too but it seems awful funny we are having the same experiences in our personal lives or opposition from the universe ..where usually that just isn't a part of my life. Even simple things are getting blown out of proportion and I am sorry if you don't believe it, but aspects do affect certain parts of our lives. Saturn is a challenge, growth is a challenge and when it is activated, you can expect challenges for your growth. Just help us all to figure out the lesson to get though this a little easier. Thats all I ask. and kick it my friend, I must say mercury retorgrade has caused me more than a few mix ups, and financial mishaps and like any whisper that sticks around has some merit of truth or old wives tales wouldn't still be circulating generations later.IP: Logged |

Sunshine. Hi We do battle again. Mercury is about to go retro on my own natal Mercury. Rules the 5th and 8th houses, I think. So it will mean something based on that focus and I know what it will mean based on what is happening. It will cause potential havoc, but not JUST because it is retrograde. It will cause havoc because its retro on some planets. If you listened to plenty of astrologers, Mercury retro is bad for everyone....just because its retro. Not true. I win this one, you can have the next one. Ok? IP: Logged |

My thread was not meant to be taken personally at all, so sorry about that. I have a really heavy Saturn myself and I feel for everyone who feels bad under its influence.I am just very puzzled about the difference between Saturn conjunctions and oppositions/squares, because it seems they are described in very much the same way everywhere. I suppose it is because of my heavy natal Saturn opposition that I wish to separate the conjunction from it.

Sorry too, Lana29865. The very beginning of your thread struck a chord with me, as it had felt I had only finished typing my 'heart' story. Being open-hearted leaves one emotionally vulnerable until a new cathartic emotion takes hold. You could have given me at least 2 hours grace before posting your thread We must be the same age. I also have Saturn and Chiron in Pisces. (Is your Eros close by, too?). So that's my double whammy of sorts taking place in the skies: tSaturn conjunct Venus/Uranus/Pluto tSaturn opposite nSaturn All within 2 degrees of each other as of today! All I know, is that I can't move forward. If I do, as I mentioned before, my whole life could change drastically and there is no gaurantee for the better. I have worked hard long enough and ought to be enjoying the spoils at the moment. But somehow each corner of my life is painted in. I know things will change. It's hard having so much Fire to sit still and watch the world go by as Time rolls on at an incredible speed. Saturn has pruned off my family from an incident 2 months ago. Who on earth wants to release their family after 40 plus years? But to hang around means being pulverised by their dysfunctional ways. And that's just a portion of my tale to tell (which I won't because it will be too boring for you). It's great you are getting a lot done. You are lucky not to have been pruned by Saturn. I certainly did in my Saturn Return - but that would be another [boring] story. Here is one little ol' website that may help define what Saturn's role is, and get you started in discovering Saturn: http://jeffreykishner.com/astrology/love/2008/07/how-saturn-uranus-opposition-will.html god bless oxo

Sorry Kick It - I don't understand if you mean that you believe Mercury retro is just a rumour as you have mentioned here... quote: it is simple logic but not everyone follows It all started with a whisper and got passed on. What else? Ah yes, you shouldnt do things during a Mercury retrogade....that is another one
...or you think it really does have an effect... quote: It will cause potential havoc, but not JUST because it is retrograde. It will cause havoc because its retro on some planets.

Ah yes, possible misunderstandings. Very much used to them on here.Talking about the difference between Mercury retrograde in MY/YOUR natal and Mercury just retrograde in the sky. Transit to natal and transit to transit...almost.... Going retro on my Mercury brings the houses that Mercury rules into focus. More like a delay. If it was ruling my 6th, it could mean the job I would have started tomorrow is now starting in a week or two when Mercury goes back over itself. Potential havoc, possible. But it would be seen as something good because it is a conjunction, using my Mercury as an example. A transit retro Mercury square my natal Mercury would be bad. IP: Logged |

Yep, Eros is in there too... ;-) (I just returned from a two week sunny vacation back to my own gray and rainy country and I just took a quick glance of what had been posted at LL during my absence. Again, sorry). I have had a real struggle with my natal Saturn (as it opposes my Sun) in all my adult life, and I'm only very slowly coming to terms with it. Pisces and 8th house doesn't help... Anyway, encouragement and smiles to everyone :-) IP: Logged |

Are you an August or September baby, Lana? Your Venus is in Libra, by chance? I'd love to know your gray and rainy country, but you don't have to tell

i dont know, i guess with an opposition, theres an attraction to something completely opposite of yourself..with the square, it feels more like this sucks, but it feels more easier to work with...like the needed clashes in a relationship to make it exciting. with conjs, everything just feels heavy, and feels slow....i know when i first meet someone with their saturn on my personal planets, im very allured by them, theres a safe feeling with them, like theyre on my side, and want to take care of me in some nurturing way. but as time goes by, it feels like a nagging mother, and someone i cannot get thru to no matter how hard i try. oppositions= attraction squares= needed friction but easier to work thru. i hope ive made sense.IP: Logged |

So you are talking about synastry then, writesomething. Yes, I also think that's different from natal Saturn aspects, and the tension/urge can be dealt with more positively. Thank you for the info, Koiflower. It's great to have both Venus and Mars in their own signs ;-) IP: Logged |

My Dad has Mars in Scorpio - and did he have a temper on him!! Still does at times. He's such a passionate man!I have Mars and Venus in Scorpio in my progressive chart. I really like this fact! Although, my partner would say I wasn't living up to their hot reputation I'm surprised with your Mars in Scorpio, you didn't put me in my place with my earlier (edited) comment
