Today two people in my office are out at separate unconnected funerals, and we received word that a young guy (in his 30's) who's been employed here for years died last night.

Is there an astrological explanation, or is it just a strange day at the office?

Sorry to hear that.

I'm moved to say unpleasant coincidence, particularly if it is a large office. But, if there were a company chart, maybe something would show up by transit or progression.

Yeah, that's what I think, too. It's not a particularly large office. There are probably 75 or less people here.

that's odd though. I'm sorry. I hope your day wasn't too rough.

It's not. I'm fairly new here, so I don't have quite the attachment that some others do. He was a constantly upbeat guy. He was very friendly and welcoming to me from the start. Apparently his diabetes was something to contend with. I heard that he's been found passed-out before. The story I'm hearing is that my place of work called the police when he didn't show up, and couldn't be reached by phone. The police went by his home, and then they came by the office to give the news.

I was one of the first to learn of it, because he shares my name. When they were looking for him my friend (in HR, who got me the job) called my cell phone to find out where I was. I was on the toilet, but the phone didn't ring, and I got a voicemail instead, so when I was done I went to her office. That confused her, because I've been here since 7:30, so we went to go find out what the deal was, and that's when we ran into the cop giving the news.

AG, I'm sorry about this. I can't say anything because it might go on for a while, and I feel kinda tongue-tied anyway.

I have no idea about the company's chart.

The dying doesn't necessarily seem to be tied to the job. There was our guy who died last night, and there was a funeral at which I hear a couple of our people were at (maybe that person was in the industry: home loans), and then there was another funeral for one of my co-worker's uncle (who was also coincidentally diabetic).

My mom also sent an email today that mentioned that her aunt died Wednesday.

Don't feel too awkward about it. I don't myself. Yes, I ponder existence at times of death, but I have to have a fairly significant connection to the person for it to hit me really emotionally.

I'm just astounded at how physically defective we humans can be. You can have an excellent personality and a brilliant brain, and your body can just completely undermine you.
