It doesn't officially begin until tomorrow, but I'm already feeling its influence on me. I'm trying not to drive as much, and be as succinct as possible. I suppose I feel excessively stressed out this merc rx because I'm planning my trip to South Korea for a year long GEPIK internship and as usual paperwork is taking too long to process and there's a lot of red tape I gotta get through. I communicate with the lady in charge of my internship via phone or e-mail, but she's been on a business trip for the past two weeks and comes back tomorrow. Since she left I've just been gathering my documents one by one and waiting for the minute she opens her e-mail and updates me on stuff - her secretary must dislike answering my e-mails (i've only received one response which was pretty much her saying, "My boss isn't around and I can't answer you now but I'll get back to you eventually...) even though I was told she would be in charge of keeping track of my progress and answering my questions until my internship supervisor gets back... JUST ARGH.

I feel anxious. Planning a trip like this during a Merc Rx gives me this feeling of impending doom. I'm trying to not be as enthusiastic about this trip because I dunno... what if something happens like I can't get a visa because of some stupid rule that I am unaware of or... something silly as that?

Who knows. I'm being paranoid... or ... anxious. And I feel like my inner gemini-ness just can't take the chaos that my cancer paranoid imagination is manifesting. I need details, I need a plan, I need my boss to call me ASAP so I know what to do next!

ARGHH! I am going INSANE!

When planning a trip, always make sure you have a backup plan. Keep a list of numbers to call if something goes wrong. Relax. Call your boss tomorrow and see what you need to do. Part of being an intern is taking initiative. Don't wait for your boss to call you; just call your boss.

I know there is a lot of paperwork to process, but you just have to trust that things will go well. Make sure you are blunt (though not rude) in your communications with others. Speak in a way that is clear and concise.

I've planned trips and even gave speeches during Mercury retrogrades and nothing went wrong. The key is to be prepared and it sounds like you've done a lot of preparation, so there's nothing to worry about.

That really sucks! But like I said, just do what you can to be well-prepared. Some things may still not go your way, but they do work out for the best. Relax and try to enjoy your trip!

Strange: I also "feel" that Merc-retro-phase strongly this time - and it started at the beginning of this week already! Some instinct that makes me very (!) nervous!!! I cannot remember whether I EVER made some fuss about a Merc-retro-phase ... but this time, it really makes me curious, like "ants in my pants" - and,for the first time ever, I took a closer look on the area of my chart that it will run through now.

And I was astonished: It is moving forward/backward/forward between my own Name-asteroid - and my Sun/Moon-Midpoint! No wonder, that instinctively I take this "personal", even in advance! ;-)

It will mainly run through my 11th house during this forward-backward-forward-phase. Mercury came to a stop now at 22° Libra - which is one degree before my own name-asteroid in my natal chart - so, it might be, that first I have to re-think some things in my communication with my surroundings/friends, before I can gather a (maybe new?) understanding of myself?

In fact, Mercury's turning point, where it will stop its retro-movement and move forward again in Octobre, is at 7° Libra - very close to my Sun/Moon-Midpoint (at 8° Libra) - so it will cross my most personal chartpoint 3 times in a row!

Here are some more natal chart-points of mine that will be touched by Mercury again- chronicologically in "backwards" motion Mercury will conjunct
- my Cupido ("self love")
- my Poseidon
- Sun/Eros-Midpoint
- Venus/AS-Midpoint
- asteroid "Lovejoy"
- asteroid "Indulgentia"
- asteroid "Adonis"
- asetroid "Tristan"
- asteroid "Eurydike"
- Moon/Mars-Midpoint
- Sun/Moon-Midpoint
... and then foreward again, from downwards to upwards.

So - my romantic life might receive "new insights" as well ... huh - I am craving "clarity" in this regard so much! I really don't want any aggravating irritations or "heevay questions" coming up in this field, right now - I want to concentrate on my work and on my own personality for a while!!!

Yeah, it seems like this Rx is a bit more intense than usual. It doesn't help that it's transiting my 1st house right now.

I finally got an e-mail from my boss' secretary... the power is out at their office. i found out that i only needed to print one copy of my contract to send to the education office in seoul. for some reason, my boss told me to print 3 (one for the office, one for the school, one for myself). the contact is 30 pages long. i killed a tree and a half.

how is everyone else doing?

Yeah, well, this Mercury rx is making me nervous, too; "ants in the pants" good description. I`ve been trying to keep busy (not that hard with the amount of work I have), but it didn`T prevent me from having past feelings swamp all over me again. Parttly feelings I had left years, even decades ago!

Why feelings with Mercury? Well, he is ruling my 7th house, maybe that might be a reason.

And Mercury will transit my 10th house (11th in equal system), the placement on 22° Libra is square my Sun-Moon-midpoint, conjunct my Sappho and opposite my Chiron.

7° Libra will be exactly between my MC-Pluto-conjunction and square my Venus. *sighs*

I guess I will have to be careful talking to my colleagues at work for some time now.

I'm usually not an advocate of the doom and gloom of Mercury Retrograde, but I have to laugh at what happened today.

I walked out of my house this morning and the moment I slammed the door shut, I realized that I locked myself out of the house without my house keys, my train pass, and my office ID card (the new "9/11 security pass" for my job). I missed my first train while trying to break into my house without setting off the alarm. I'm happy and sad to say I couldn't get in. LOOLL!!!

Lucky for me I had cash so I could walk to a different train station, get some coffee and get to work a half hour late. Before I left my backyard, I took out my new iPod Touch and walked to a spot where I knew my WiFi would reach the iPod. I checked with Astro.com to see if Mercury was retrograde and BINGO!! I try to laugh through Mercury Retrograde. Knowing that it's going to happen and that people will make funny communication errors kind of floats my boat in a weird way.

Just before I went to lunch this afternoon, the computer IT guy comes into my office and announces that he's installing a new computer for me. So far it seems to be working just fine. It's a nice wide screen and all my files seem to still be here.

Please pray that I'll get home alright, which reminds me, I better call my roommate to make sure he'll be home when I get there.

Happy Mercury Retrograde,

GEOCOSMIC: In which sector of your chart is Mercury retograding now? Which chart-points did he touch today? This seems to be such a CLASSICAL Mercury-Rx-story, haha! Like from am astrological schoolbook ... ;-)

stillatlarge, I've understood from what I've read that for those with natal Mercury R this is supposed to be just a neutral time, not a specifically good (nor bad) time.

Thanks. I guess it was some other transit responsible for what happened in April and May. I thought it was Mercury, but whatever it was, it was vicious.

This happened to me during the last 3-5 days:

1) My digi-cam broke last Friday - not repairable - must buy a new one - grrrr.

2) My computer-printer also doesn't work anymore!!! It came down yesterday - grrrrr....! I need it for my work, urgently - must buy a new printer as well!!! (expansive ... with that digi-cam and all...)

3) THE HARDEST PART: A company which I had worked for in summer just sent way too much money to my bank account! Say ... we spoke about 3.000 $ that they wanted to pay for my work ... but ... they made a computer-mistake and sent me almost the double amount!!! SO MUCH MONEY!!!

This was a tough one for me to deal with ... Should I be honest - and return the money that they had over-payed? Or just ... keep silent, take the money and run???? ;-)

I decided to be "almost honest" and wrote them an e-mail, immediately ... not talking about the exact amount of money, but alluding that there might be "something wrong" ... (In secret, I was hoping that they wouldn't see throught their mistake, haha.)

Well ... but after my hint they got it - unfortunately!!! So I have to give them some money back. So much money on my bank account - and I have to give it away again!!!

Now: Is THAT Mercury going retro ("going crazy") or what??? ;-)

I HOPE KARMA WILL PAY BACK THAT HONESTY TO ME ONE DAY! ;-)

Deuxantares: It's not swedish, it Mercury Retrogradish because I spelled it wrong. Mercury rules writing, spelling, all that fun stuff. I couldn't even spell my own name right.

Alvarella777: Mercury is in y 6th House and isn't touching anything. Not even a midpoint. Hmm...it is quindecile my Saturn and Saturn rules the 8th House of other people's money and the 9th House of long distance travel. That morning I also forgot my commuter train pass and I had to PAY for a regular ticket (8th House) to travel long distance to my job and I was late because I tried to break into my house so I had to walk a long distance to a different train station to get to work as soon as possible. But in the long run, it definitely wasn't the worst Mercury Retrograde, just one of the wackiest.
