Hi,

suppose in a Synastry, you've got Person A's Neptune in opposition or square to a personal planet of Person B: Who would be more prone to illusion - and will later be des-illusioned? Who would feel the confusion and delusion (or even: the betrayal) stronger?

I'm asking for "real life" experiences.

(I am curious because - through real life - I am convinced that with a strong Pluto-Venus-connection in Synastry, the Pluto-person is more "obsessed" than the Venus-Person - even though many books and standard-interpretations claim the opposite...)

The person who has Neptune is the one who is bringing Neptunian qualities into the mix. But it's a two-way situation, so it may be that this influence brings out these qualities into the opposing or conflicting person.

BUT Neptune isn't just about deception and confusion. He is also imagination and dreams. He might be the one to bring in the tension that says: not everything is black and white, you know. That might be something the non-Neptunian person needs to hear.

Or he might be the one who introduces a dream as an idea, let's emigrate to Tibet, that kind of thing. It might mean an argument about being practicial, but it also might introduce a more flexible look at lifestyle options.

I agree. I'd also like to add that according to my experience Neptune is not about a conscious decision to deceive, confusion can happen without the Neptune person realizing it.

And like Blue Moon said, Neptune also rules some really positive things.

And a seemingly tough synastry aspect can become something different in your composite chart...

In our synastry my Neptune is in exact conjunction with my man's Mars and in addition to that we have a double whammy Sun square Neptune, but in our composite chart we have Sun conjunct Neptune, which is nice in so many ways...

Illusions can also turn out to be real, and disillusion may never happen...

All I can say from my personal experience:

In my longest lasting marriage-like relationship (9 years) my boyfriend cheated on me in the early stages of our relationship. He had an "affair" going on with another woman, which lasted about 3 months - it was while I was studying hard for my exams at University, and he blankly lied into my face at that time. It was VERY HARD for me to find out about that betrayal, a few months later - and I took my consequences - followed my own "career", without making any compromises to his wishes - he decided to follow me, though (even geographically) - and after a while, when I was convinced that he was serious and sincere (again) with me, I was able to forgive him - and we stood with each other for another 7.5 years, happily. It was MY NEPTUNE SQUARE HIS SUN.

My last relationship, which lasted almost one year and failed miserably this spring, was a very intense one ... that man lied to me, often! He even admitted that. He said: "Yes, I am a bit mean deliberately, sometimes - In order to provoke you and to FEEL you better." Somehow ... I enjoyed these vague and perverse "mind games" for a while ...After that relationship has ended now, I am not so sure anymore whether he REALLY had cheated on me, and not only "pretended" from time to time. Again: MY NEPTUNE SQUARE HIS SUN.

My current, very fresh "crush" ... who confuses me with his totally indecisive, volatile behaviour ... this time it is MY NEPTUNE OPPOSITE HIS SUN.

Don't know .. I don't get a good feeling from these aspects. Maybe it's because my Neptune is cj. my ASC ... in a very personal and prominent placement in my chart. My Neptune also squares my Venus - I really don't like Neptune at all and find him quite nasty ... ,-)

*** EDIT: I'd say: By squaring or opposing my Neptune with their Suns all these guys sort of ERODED my personal substance, undermined my "authority", weakened me, sucked out some life and power out of me - DELUDED me one way or the other. NOT VERY SUPPORTIVE!!! The opposite is true...***

whether he cheated on you or not i dont think he should say anything especially like that to hurt you. if i ever see my sun opposing another's neptune again, im taking off running (this is just my personal experience.) all the other aspects were WONDERFUL and i really didnt pay attention to this aspect, but now i know. this relationship ended almost 2 years ago and i dont think i have suffered so much in my life...thank god its over. in a nutshell brainwashing. he was so good he had both my brothers brainwashed too. and i saw him last spring, and he says "you know, its all just a game to me. the things i say to you i say them to someone else" then says i think i need help, are you going to help me, dont leave me." my venus pisces used to go for this but never again. mental abuse is tricky. USE YOUR GUT. LISTEN TO YOUR INSTINCTS WHATEVER THEY MAY BE. i wish i would have. let him show you who he really is.
