Hello to all. I just wanted to know if anyone can tell me if Life events that are Destiny or Fate, if you would, can be determined by analyzing the natal chart? I have limited knowledge of astrology but do like to educate myself, so in light of this can anyone share what they have learned?

Probably destiny and fate issues or at least when it feels that way occurs when planet hit the NN and/or Vertex during transits. How it feels exactly will be dependent on the aspect, what planet(s) is/are involved and what houses this occurs in. In synastry, then synastry between the parties' NN and/or Vertex should be looked at. In terms of karmic feelings and occurrences, then Saturn and the other outer planets and possibly chiron maybe should be look at as well.

thanks 23, I think you tweaked something in mind just now, I have Saturn in Cancer (the only planet there BTW) I had an atrocious childhood mainly having to do with my step monster oops father I mean he is Capricorn from there on I have had continual conflict with Capricorn people of all sexes & decided that I hated them all & would avoid them like they had plague or Ebola - so I believe Mr Destiny stepped in - I became pregnant by ex partner who is Cancer(against my will - read into that what u will) couldn't afford an abortion - and kept the child - Whom I adored as soon he was placed on my chest - astro sign???? Capricorn. oh and after recent study into my natal I discover that my N/N is in Capricorn.

Do I laugh or cry? hell I have done both. Would love to knkow what u think of this.

spunknini - where does your ex's sun and your child's sun sit in relation to your NN? Where does your step-dad's sun sit in relation to the node? Also square to the Nodes are also very important. I am quite tight with orbs myself, I tend to use 3 deg max and most of the time 2 deg max for nodal aspects. If their suns do form an aspect to your nodes, then that might give a fated feeling, with NN conj a feeling of being able to use the person's energy to go forward, with NN opp it is a feeling of deep familiarity but maybe feeling that you are held back. This applies to all planets that make aspects to the nodes. Make sure you also look at the Vertex and other planets too.

oh my.....I feel so inadequate.....I have no answers for you as to my step father, my mother separated from him when I was 12, All I can give is the Sun sign and as for my ex, I can only give you the date of birth 30/06/1970 Sydney Australia, but my son (woo hoo)I can do for you - http://rep.astrology.com/free/16412/5395/Gif1.html

I hope this helps. Just to add, my son & I have the best relationship, we have a real deep connection, full of empathy, humor & togetherness, we talk & get along famously, so in a nutshell he is my delight.

You have the North Node in the 4th house opposing Saturn.

I think Saturn in the 10th (especially in Cancer) relates to losing a mother - or in your case maybe losing her emotionally, or in terms of trust.

you are spot on bvanzy!!!! during my formative years & my greatest need of her, my mother was not there emotionally - she had her own personal demons to cope with (which she couldn't) & all she ever did was push me away, tho funnily she could give love and affection to my brothers, my theory being I ws the only girl & representative of herself which was to confronting for her. What do you think?

OK no nodal connection between your son and yourself but he has his Sun in your 4th which would be very visceral and intimate.

As for your ex, his Sun is widely conj your SN (5 deg) but his Neptune is squ your NN. 5 deg nodal connection is debatable, some might count that.

As for Saturn in Cancer, I was just mentioning on another post that Saturn did represent the mother in traditional astrology and the Moon the father. Which way it is around (modern astrology is the reverse), doesn't really matter. With Saturn in Cancer, it can mean an absent father, non-functioning father, domineering mother. I have this placement as well except its in the 4th. With me, my mother was very authoritarian, my father was the "weaker" parent who was emotionally understanding and giving.

I sympathise about your mother and childhood situation.

Listen spunknini - this is going to sound harsh but it isn't I promise - if you feel inadequate about life it is time to get thrilled, because it means you are moving away from what was acceptable in the past towards a goal which you are scared you are not up to achieving. But you will be up to achieving it. This is growth. And it starts with feeling inadequate.

I think the feelings of inadequacy stems from the Sun-Saturn square, esp since Sun is in 1st (a clash between yourself (1st) and future direction (10th) but then with the SN-Saturn conj you feel pulled back as well). I have these two in opposition and the lack of self-esteem and energy can be crippling. You are in some ways blessed because it is squaring, you can use that energy to drive yourself, an opposition is slippery, it requires constant juggling.

OMG! 23 would you believe my birth father (born 3rd October 1954 - yes that's right I was born on his birthday) my mother left him when I was 3 - & my mother hooked up with my step father not long after & they went traveling all around Australia so that my dad couldn't have contact - so spot on there. oh I could go on, you guys n gals have me glued to my seat!

Well its common to astrologically inherit things from parents My dad and his late sister shared the same birthdate.

Dad's sun is 7 deg square from your nodes, wouldn't count it as an aspect.

At first glance, you appear to be astrologically similar to your dad, except he has more Sco in him. Your son too has roughly similar signage or signage in opposition.

Yes 23 and spunknini, that's a pretty strong square. I've got a Sun-Saturn square at about 8 degrees and I will tell you that it is felt in my life. It's almost like I'm not a Leo. They are also parallel

I maintain my position however, that feelings of inadequacy are primers of growth and development as long as you don't sit around dwelling on them.

I think not sitting around bvanzy is the sign of the squ relationship. It must be bad for a Leo like you to cop one like that but think of poor me, Aqu Sun with opp Saturn, square Ura, all in angular houses At least it makes me sturdy in a wierd kind of a way

Oh I am so sorry, I must clear up something right away, I am feeling inadequate due to your superior knowledge & felt a little overwhelmed at the questions being asked. As for me emotionally speaking - yes what I have been through in one short lifetime has brought me to some very dark places including suicide - but I have to tell you my son is a miracle - from having him in my life I have gotten to see the beauty in people & in life & I have risen from the ashes of my despair, I am strong again because of the pain I have endured & If I had the choice to do it all again - to have him in my life I would do a million times over. Thank you all for such kindness, it touches me more than you know.

I think in a strange way the Sun-PLuto conj is a blessing, dont like how Saturn bares down on them but Pluto in this case might give you an iron willed Sun and constitution. The fact that Sun has friend as Pluto (most of the time - conj), these two when they get their act together can fight off Saturn's black dog so to speak.

I was thinking about our astrological make up etc & wondered whether we were given these odds so that we may overcome them so to speak? or am I speaking the bleeding obvious here? If so then apologies.

No it's not a dumb question. I think about that too. I have a t-square in my chart but I have mystic rectangle to overcome that. I have Sun opp Saturn but I have Jup in the 1st to overcome that.

My Sun is 2 deg Aqu, mum's is 4 deg Sco, my dad's is 5 deg Leo. I was made an Aqu with Mars trine Pluto (Mars chart ruler) to be strong and not to be crushed by their fixed Suns.

I'm sure there's a purpose to your chart to give you the ability to empower you against things that may happen in your life from your circumstances.

Right on 23!!! I will confess to you that normally I am the peacemaker & gentle soul but when my back is to the wall - well lets just say I scare myself with the intensity I have to not let a situation or person get the better of me, case in point; I think I made my own situation with the step father worse by standing my ground when he used to beat me - some beast in me would be awoken that made me stand there and goad him just to show him that he would not break me - oi! can you picture this from a 10 year old girl facing a grown man....lol
