Where do we start?

Dazzling conversation? Scintillating charm? Overpowering wit?

Not to mention looking at least 15 years younger than the reality.

We know the world is a grim place, but mainly we keep that knowledge to ourselves and chirp about in an upbeat way. We just aren't the moaners and gripers of the zodiac. We are resented for it, but we can't help the sourness that creeps into less sparkling signs.

I'm a Gemini Rising, and I'll say that one of the great things is seeing things from multiple perspectives.

Other nice things:

* Generally non-violent
* Dexterously fast (they're remarkably fast on a computer)
* Generally good artistic skills (acting, singing, music, etc.)

Bad things:

* Superior ability to be bitchy (god help you if you inspire a Gemini's ire)

Neutral things:

* A fondness for shortcuts (can be a good, or a bad thing)

Thing is though, Acoustic, men do sometimes have a habit of speaking over women in certain social settings. The ability to deliver a sharp put down is a survival skill.

But malice is never good and I think this is the Gemini trap.

Mainly we are delightful, however. Sparkles of sunshine.

Kids should be taught to type in schools. It's a very hand skill, and saves on repetive strain injury if they are going to be office workers. I can type quite fast, maybe over 60 words a minute, something like that. Only because I learnt how.

The best thing about a Gemini?

Our ability to find something positive in a bad situation.

Our charm and wit

Our friendly nature

Our ability to multitask without sacrificing quality or quantity (bosses love this)

Our logical nature

The downside? We can be very cutting with our words if someone makes us angry. I don't know if this is true for other Geminis, but I can become quite the formidable foe if I'm pushed too far.

Believe me, that wasn't directed at you.

There has been a Gemini here in the past, however, who's been banned multiple times, who would be a good example of what I'm talking about, and it's not a matter of gender one-up-manship as she would say vile things to people of her own gender as well.

I could also point to someone like Donald Trump who is probably the only man in his position who would get involved in these p!ssing contests with Martha Stewart and Rosie O'Donnell, and so forth.

Also, I want to say in fairness that I've worked with a Gemini who was arguably the nicest person in the company.

I think we are good people simply because most of us are cheerful by nature. Our bad sides are very Taurean in that we very rarely get angry but when we do, all hell will be broken loose.

I'm not saying "oooh! Watch out for the big bad Gemini", it's not like that. It's just that it takes so much to push us over the edge that when we finally get there, I think our anger can be the most terrible of all signs. But like I said, we are generally very happy go lucky people.

Kick it, as for lying, most of us are quite honest 99% of the time.

Oh AG

Most of the time my Gemini/Libra charm is out there for world, but the old Scorpio sting is there to give a lash of the tongue where it is deserving.

Lies? That goes around the zodiac.

The word 'sadism' was named after a Gemini. That's the dark side of the sign. The mental sadist. I've met a Gemini Sun/Rising who fit that description. Witty and charming most of the time, but he did like to play with people.

One thing I find fascinating about Geminis is their nod to the past. Drew Carey's got his 50's hair and glasses. Morrissey's obviously obsessed with James Dean and classic film stars and fashion. Who else? I'm sure I can probably think of more. I'm just swamped with work right now.

Got Gemini,

So very true. People often call us bitches when they push us over the edge because they didn't expect that the sweet, smiley Gemini would become mean. We aren't pushovers, which takes others by surprise.

Kick it,

I've found liars in all signs. The biggest liar I've come across recently was a Sagittarius, who are supposedly the most honest of all the signs. The greatest number of honest people I've come across have been Scorpios. In my experience, Sags are either really honest or big liars. Nevertheless, you can never really tell based on sun signs.

Amowls,

Yeah, it can be annoying to look young for your age when you're already young. I'm 23 and I still have the face of a twelve year old! In college students thought I was some kid genius, so they all tried to bully me into doing their homework. LOL.

However, looking younger is quite a blessing when you're middle-aged or old. After all, don't many people these days try to find some way to take decades off their appearance?

I have a Gem moon and about a billion Geminis in my family.

I think that being able to find a way to relate to others so that you can be empathetic and understanding is a good quality.

Yeah Astra, many signs can be like that and I never go by Sun signs.

Sags I would rate 2nd worst to Gems for honesty, then Pisces and possibly Virgo. Maybe its the mutuable nature of them.

Its difficult to gauge really. Im one of three born at the same time. My sis lies and lies, but more for attention. My brother is a compulsive liar.

I remember when both of them were caught by the police for stealing music CDs from a store when younger. They tried to blame it on some gang who forced them to do it. Bull.

My brother is the worst kind. He would steal something, and when you confront him, he would put it back in its original place and then accuse you of making it all up.
I find it hard how some people can be like that, especially as he is Aquarian riser, like me. You just need to look at his friends to see how his personality is. Not good.

Obviously I lie a little, most people do. But I pride myself on being honest with people. Its hard to work out why my sis and bro are radically different to me in that regard. Same chart.

Its deceptive, which is Neptune and I guess more verbal than anything, which falls under 3rd house/Gemini.

Kick it,

I'm sorry about your siblings, but it just goes to show that free will makes all the difference. You chose a life of honesty while your siblings, unfortunately, chose a life of deception. Hopefully, with time they will realize that excessive lying will lead them down a dangerous path.

I'm a Gemini and I'm honest most of the time to the point of being rather blunt. I only lie when the truth is not beneficial to anyone or if I need to protect a friend. For example, if my friend is sick and asks me how she looks, then I would tell her that she looks much better than the day before even if she stills looks like crap. In this case, telling her that she looks like hell froze over would not benefit her in any way and would only make her feel worse.

In the case of friendship, if a friend at work makes a mistake and the boss demands to know who screwed up, then I would lie and say that I messed things up.

Other than those particular situations, I prefer to just tell the truth. I think it makes life a lot easier than having to remember every single lie.

hmmm, honesty and the gemini. can any gemini answer this question for me? what is with the evasiveness and changing the subject thing? this FEELS like it could be a facet of dishonesty. i've been dating a gemini for a month and he says the same thing as what was mentioned above (only lying to keep people out of trouble or from being hurt), but a few direct questions i've asked him, he's evaded (rather skillfully! i almost didn't notice!), and a few times i felt he had lied to me, but i didn't want to be paranoid/i'm naive, so i let it go.. so i'm just wondering; what is the evasiveness about?

Heartcakes,

Some Geminis are evasive, but most are not. When someone asks me a direct question, I answer them truthfully unless their question falls into the two categories I mentioned. In these two special cases, I would give a direct answer (i.e. a lie) or if I am not comfortable answering, then I would simply say that I'm not ready to give an answer at this time. I rarely change a subject without giving some sort of an answer.

I do change the subject a lot when having a casual conversation with someone to keep them entertained, but if they do ask me a question that doesn't fall into those two categories, then I will happily answer them truthfully.

Now let's get back to your Gemini's evasiveness. (Heh...I'm changing the subject already!)

What kinds of topics are you trying to ask him about? If they're personal questions or emotional-type of questions, then he's going to feel uncomfortable and try to avoid discussing these subjects because Geminis are generally very uncomfortable with emotion. We definitely prefer logic. We only get into emotionally-charged subjects when we really feel comfortable around the other person and trust them. I can be aloof around people I view as acquaintances, but I'm become very nurturing and supportive when my closest friends tell me their problems.

A more mature Gemini will at least say something like "I'll tell you at another time" or "I'm not ready to answer that right now" instead of just changing the subject. Here are some tips to communicating with an evasive Gemini:

1) Be on your guard. Listen very carefully to what your Gemini is saying and observe his body language. Are his eyes focused on you or do they keep looking way? Are his arms crossed or relaxed at his sides?

2) Since he keeps trying to avoid the subject you're bringing up, try talking to him about it in private. Sometimes Geminis reveal a whole lot more in a private setting than among a large group of people. Most people don't realize that Geminis can be private people

3) If he still tries to change the subject, then you absolutely must be direct with him. Ask him if the question or subject is making him feel uncomfortable because you notice that he keeps changing the subject.

About the possibility of him lying...

I have no idea what things he's told you, so I can't tell whether he's lying. Personally, there are some very odd things that happen in my life that really do sound ridiculous and completely made up, but the truth is that these events or situations actually occurred. Before I tell my friends about these odd events, I try to tell them that it really does seem crazy and that it will be hard to believe. I find that just being upfront about these sort of things can eliminate any misunderstandings. Also, occasionally some of my friends will witness these crazy events and realize that I really was telling them the truth.

Perhaps your Gemini is telling you something that seems ridiculous, which makes you think he's lying when he's actually being honest. Or he really could be lying. There's no way I can tell, but you can!

Try to keep track of all that he tells you. When a few weeks have passed ask him about one of these things he's told you. If he tells you the same story, then he's probably telling the truth.

Good luck!

I find we can be good at planing things and making things work out.

Just ask Henry Kissinger one of the best gemini diplomats who could make two side quit fighting.
--------------------------------------------

I agree with astra,

I whould look at it two ways

if he is not doing it on purpose chances are he just has a lot on his mind and wants to jump from one subject on his mind to another.

Or

you did mention he was a Leo rising, maybe it has something to do with his pride.

and lieing to protect himself.

Nautraly, I'm not surprised this came up with your gem.

Aquas are the best at detecting gems when there lieing and the same for gem's at aquas.

Being a sag rising I'm guessing your direct and honest, so he should be inclined to do the same.

Collect the clues and compare with what he says.

thanks! well, i've spent some more time observing his behaviour and i'm pretty sure he's hiding something. sooo.. i'm not really into it. either that or he's just clueless as to the fact that he CONSTANTLY evades the same subject over and over. can't go into it cuz it's personal.. but thanks for the help!

Most of the Geminis I know aren't what people would call liers.
As a quadruple gemini, I prefer to tell the truth whenever possible, even at inconvenient times. Do I lie sometimes? Yes, I do when I feel I have no other possibility. I mostly lie to protect others or not offend anyone.
Only utter fools tell the truth all the time. Most people don't want honesty at all costs regardless of what they say about the virtue of truth. I learned that the hard way.

As for what I like about my "geminosity" - I like my mind a lot, my verbal skills and everything that concerns the cognitive process. I like my humor. I like the fact that I can make friend anywhere and fast. I like my ability to be a loner when it suits me.
Mostly, I like living in my mind

Gemini has the ability to verbalise the truth so it isn't tactless and brutal. It takes a bit of thought and effort, but it is a talent this sign has that takes away from the need to engage in untruth.

Gemini is a sociable sign if not the most sensitive, and has no wish to be offensive.

Of course this is about the sign, the archetype. There are liars and deceivers among all signs and this one is no exception.

The evasion could be tact. It depends on the question and the intent.

I'm sure we've all been in situations where we sense the person asking us something isn't really ready to hear an honest answer, and the question is really about searching for reassurance. An honest person might be uncomfortable about being untruthful, but at the same time sensitive enough not to be brutal. It's a different matter from hiding something that deserves a simple yes or no. Sometimes things aren't simple anyway, or we just plain don't know the answer.

There's a world of difference between the questions:

?did you spend all the money on the horses?

and

?is your ex-girlfriend prettier than me?

I'd object to evasion on the first one, but I'd look past the second.
