Hi guys,I guess technically speaking you can't call it a double whammy, but: I have transiting Saturn on my natal Uranus AND transiting Uranus on my natal Saturn. Oh no... I wonder what the purpose of this is... The Saturn transit hits my 2nd house and the Uranus transit hits my 8th house, because, of course with my luck, I have a natal Uranus-Saturn opposition... Poor me... Anyone else with this "lovely thing"...? ~ Lana IP: Logged |

LanaSounds like you might be up for some really interesting growth. Uranus is also the planet that show's our brilliance. From my experience, the easiest way with these huge transits is to go with what they offer you rather than resisting them - it makes it easier on you. I have natal Saturn opposite Jupiter. So I empathise with you. There's always that push-pull - the desire for freedom/expansion vs the sense of responsibility/restriction - but the need for balance. Probably not so different from yours. LibraloveAt astro.com - in the Free Horoscopes - then "Extended Chart Selection" - from the Circular charts - choose "natal chart and transits". Also , at the same site - in Free Horoscopes there is a "Short Report Forecast" which gives information some current and coming transits. IP: Logged |

Hi Lana,Actually, those transits are a big generational thing that's happening. I'm guessing you were born in either 65. 66 or 67. My brother was born in 66, I was born in 67. We are all getting a mixture of that current Saturn-Uranus opposition going over that generational Uranus-Pluto conjunction in Virgo. Think of the current "Economic Turmoil" issues going on, I'm sure you're feeling it now with the 2nd House and 8th House triggers you described. Those are the money houses. Saturn rules my 8th House and Pluto co-rules my 6th of the workplace. Needless to say, I've got Saturn fears about my job and my income. Notice how we are in a huge financial crisis and people have tremendous anxiety, that's the Virgo nervousness plus the Uranus lightning bolts making us all worry. It's also suggestive of the politics going on right now, it's incredibly erratic. Uranus is "the new" and Saturn is "the old". McCain is the old, Obama is the new and the battle of Saturn and Uranus is exact on election day. More often than not with Saturn-Uranus battles, Uranus ordinarily wins because the Universe is constantly moving toward "the new" and "the future" which is what Uranus rules. It's another major time of construction and maturity for our generation as evidenced by Saturn opposite Saturn. Darn that Saturn, always coming in and shaking that ruler at us, giving lessons and testing. Grrr!! Someone else here said don't try to resist the lessons, just go with it. Also, remember that Saturn is not here just to punish or cause restrictions and limitations, Saturn is also structure, boundaries, empowering, truthful. Saturn is a tool for you to use. As you feel the bad stuff, remember you can use Saturn as a tool. It's your toolbox of hammers and nails and construction vehicles, the whole shabang. And with Uranus involved, it can give you electric power tools. They are for you to use. I hope you remind me of the same when it's difficult for me to and I feel it coming. I have transiting Saturn squaring my natal Sun/Chiron to Saturn/Uranus opposition...Ie my t Saturn is squaring my Chiron/Sun/Saturn/Uranus and the transiting Uranus is doing the same thing on the other side. I have a nice mutable grand cross of Saturn-Uranus to Saturn-URanus with my Sun/Chiron caught somewhere in the middle....MAN fun times! I started to feel it really badly in like August and have just wondered when is it going to end...so i looked up...turns out...in a year...WHOOHOO! I get where you are coming from though. This is a really tough time especially with Pluto entering Capricorn. It tells us to pay attention to our Saturn and do a little bit of it every day. So whatever your Saturn is telling you to do every day (mine's transiting my 12th so i guess clean out my psyche) guess thats what should be done. Geocosmic Valentine, thank you so much for your analysis and insight. You are indeed right that these are generational aspects, I didn't realize that (I was born in 1965). The only addition is that I have natal Sun in conjunction with Uranus (and in opposition to Saturn) making it possibly more complicated for me. But it's also interesting... :-) I do worry about my savings and my personal relationship(s). I also worry about the outcome of the US presidential election, although I'm a European... Yes, I will remind you of the positive sides of Saturn, when you need it ;-) IP: Logged |

yes, it is a generational reaping time - these days were basically predicted by the PARENTS of the late 60's kids...and the time has come now for more creative ways of living, less dependency on the grid and daddy government, more do-it-yourself, grounding energy - saturn AND capricorn in earth (and for awhile longer jupiter too)! "you WILL get your feet back on the ground!" time...i would try to stay calm, though, folks. our elders lived through the depression, and some of them TWO world wars. the earth and they are still here! they've been sitting back wondering when people would realize they were spending thin air and forgetting their brethren...haven't we all become too used to "boundaries" and the "every man for himself" ethic..? while i am not suggesting you immediately move to a commune i hope you know someone with enough land to grow some food, you have barterable skills to trade in the black market, you are on good terms with your neighbours, and you have plenty of sweaters so you can turn the heat down! i so hope the disposable economy is a goner!! katatonic, I agree with you.But from an astrological point of view, why would our generation (born in the 60's) be more affected than others by the financial crisis? As far as I understand, this crisis is hitting the whole world and thus all generations alike, whether directly or indirectly. IMO these Saturn-Uranus transits are a part of the mid-life crisis of our generation, and therefore more personal than financial. Pluto is a part of it, and Chiron for some of us... (me included).
