What would be significant changes in progressed charts that would indicate major events in life, say marriage, birth of a child, loss of a parent?
I know Asc changing signs or outer planets changing signs in progressed charts are major milestones, but what do they denote?

Look at your transits for external types of events, not your progressed chart. The progressed chart reflects more of internal changes rather than external events, which is reflected more in transit aspects.

I do understand that transits probably tell more of the story than progressed charts. But say A has Sun sextile B's moon and venus opposition mars in natal. In the progressed sun conjuncts moon and venus conjunct mars at some point in life, will that be significant for a relationship between them. Will the progressed chart not give any idea?
