what do you guys think would make someone cut themselves. And think about kknifes and have a fascination with self mutulation.

angelina jolie used to cut herself she has alot of aries and she has a cardinal t-square formation could it be a cardinal thing.

i have been fascinated by it and i sometimes do it. it makes me feel open and honest and lets me know that im real. i also have a cardinal t-square alot of those actually and i also think it is a cardinal thing.

i have alot of water in my chart mars in pisces jupiter in cancer chiron in cancer and pluto in scorpio i was thinking maybe it could be water.

what do you guys think i have looked threw all of these threads and nobdy seems to talk about all the darker stuff of life.so i just wanted to bring it up. so let me know what you guys think.

I've done this on and off for years and got the scars to prove it. When I did it, it was because my pain was so intense and overwhelming that physical pain actually felt good compared to the emotional agony I was suffering. The act of cutting didn't even hurt like it should have and I would feel enormous relief. I am not sure what aspects in the chart could cause this behavior. I am low on water, just mercury in scorpio and have no aries. My sun is closely conjunct pluto in the 6th. I'm extremely emotionally intense. The mental illness that supposedly causes self mutilation is borderline personality disorder.

It's a very physical way of dealing with tension.

Knives are traditionally ruled by Virgo, which is odd given Scrappy Dog's comments about the 6th, the 6th house is Virgo's home.

Sun/Pluto ~ my mother has that, she doesn't have the greatest mental health on the planet but she's one tough lady, Sun/Pluto is the aspect of a survivor.

Interesting about the Sun/Pluto.
I had a very young friend who had Pluto squaring his Sun in his natal chart, and he was into self-mutilation. Virgo rising.
Very sad childhood, actually. Brutal, really. he needed to be reminded of beauty constantly (I know it might sound weird, but he always saw ugliness in everything).
Very much a survivor, and an extremely kind, generous soul.

People who have had a hard time in life, they've been through it, they're there for other people who've got it rough. Not always, some get bitter. But why is is it that sometimes the most bitter people I come across have had and easy ride though life? Maybe they were expecting it to always be like that and couldn't handle a little jolt in the road.

Lance Armstrong has Sun/Pluto in Virgo.

Didn't he say, he wants to be seen as a cancer survivor first, a cyclist second? There it is on the page ~ Sun/Pluto Rising in Virgo.

Saturn/Mars ~ I'm going to second that, maybe the tense aspects as well as the conjunction. There's something there that lacks self-preservation.

I think I recall Geocosmic Valentine mentioning it in connection to rock-climbing. Funny, I had a friend who was a rock-climber who had a Saturn/Mars combo. But the trine ~ that's someone tough who can handle pain.

I've got mars saturn sextile, never paid a lot of attention to sextiles since they are not that strong, but mine is 0 deg. Took a look at my friend's chart who is the worst person I know about this-mars,saturn pluto conj in libra in the 10th. Sun square pluto!
