so i've been wondering: what in a chart denotes someone who takes a lot of pride in their hometown (not necessarily their house, but the area that they live in)?
the typical answer is Cancer placements and 4th house placements. i've found that I see myself as more of an embodiment of "homelife" and put less effort making myself a "servant of the house and family"... if that makes sense. i don't let my hometown define me at all. your hometown is like that old, cedar chest that you keep hidden in the attic. it’s where you keep the things that you don’t necessarily need or want but can’t afford to sell or are afraid toss away. these things are only part of your history - not necessarily a part of who you are. they are “why” but not “what”.
while the 4th house points to family and homelife, i think the 3rd house puts more emphasis in the local community as well as the 6th house and perhaps even the 11th house. the 3rd house is the opposite of the 9th (foreign lands, high thinking, etc etc) so wouldn't it make sense that the 3rd house emphasis not only just personal form communication but immediate environment - not only how we say things but how we analyze and take in our environment as well? i think positive placements in the 3rd house would denote a person who has a generally more pleasant environment. so would, say, venus in the 3rd house influence pleasure in your hometown and surroundings? also, would negative aspects/maleficts in the 3rd house denote someone who has less than desirable surroundings? for example, I have Saturn/Uranus in Sag in my 3rd house and my childhood environment was not conventional or comforting. my parents shifting me around a lot from living with relatives in other towns (uranus) to being bullied at school (saturn) for a very long time. at the same rate, because i have a heavy 9th house, i found being away from not only my house but my hometown and its residents to be what saved me. then again... i think that's what happens to anyone who grows up in the southland of chicago...
as for the 6th house, i think positive placements here would denote someone who finds their workplace to be a positive environment but i'm not completely sure about hometown. i do think 6th house placements are great for politicians and politicians, ideally, take pride in their dominion. so anyone with insight with that please share.
hmm, the 11th house. i think positive placements in 11th house denotes someone who has an appreciation for humanity as a whole but i have no idea about hometown. who knows?
