As I was searching for a Virgo picture I found this: How can they take cheap shots at Virgos when they get basic grammar wrong? It's YOU'RE a Virgo not YOUR. I'm not a Virgo, but I have Virgo MC and a Virgo Rising husband. I secretly find it attractive when he points out if my English is incorrect. It's not even his native language, all the more reason. Shockah! I've seen people on here use "your" instead of "you're" and it secretly annoys me. Why bad spelling (and grammar) annoys me, I don't know. I'm not a Virgo or have anything Virgoan. IP: Logged |

3rd house Mars in Gemini? That does suggest a love of words and communication, though I hate to say my Geminian brethren, particularly those with both Sun and Mercury in this sign, are some of the worst offenders, such is their haste to impart their thoughts. Virgo M.C is enough for me, maybe the 3rd house Mars helps out a little. I get annoyed when people put books in the wrong place in the library. IP: Logged |

I think it has something to do with my Sun-Merc conj both opposing Saturn, a love of order. Also I have Pluto in 6th. I do feel that when people violate spelling and grammar, it annoys me and it seems rather blasphemous. Other people might get offended by paintings being defaced (which I would be as well), but butchering the written language annoys me. I have mentioned Mars in Gemini before on the angry Mars thread before and I think you are right to mention it as well!IP: Logged |

My rising in vedic is virgo and I'm such a nitpicker when it comes to grammar. People often confuse You're, your, they're, their, there. It's like "get it right!!!" LOL. But I don't think a virgo actually wrote that. Maybe it's someone else generalizing facts about the signs. IP: Logged |

I've come to expect Your/You're and There/They're/Their. But I'm still irked by Then/Than.Blue Moon- Maybe it was meant to be ironic, just to irritate the Virgos. Are the other Sign definitions spelled with "your"? IP: Logged |

ding ding ding there's another one, I have Mercury CNJ Saturn. A little wide for some tastes, but my prediliction for the edit button has been commented on. I do agree with Savanna, these are simple things. I know some people have dyslexia or learning disabilities but mainly it seems that a haste to rush things down is the culprit. An anathema to the Saturn/Mercury type. Especially in MOO. EDIT: Scorpionic, all the other signs are incorrect. IP: Logged |

You know what else I've noticed in some people? When they spell "per se"---per say! I don't know why that annoys me but it sure does!!! >-/I have a stellium in the 3rd house-go figure! IP: Logged |

I saw a brilliant mistake from one knowflake who shall nameless but I truly laughed myself silly when I saw it, it was so cute. It was "pre-madonna" instead of "prima donna". Lucky I like this knowflake and spared them. Ironic about their natal chart too. IP: Logged |

I think I have all these annoyances and more (Virgo Moon and Gemini Rising) even though I occasionally thoughtlessly do them myself (sometimes my fingers type phonetically, or get ahead of my thoughts which causes me to skip words altogether). I've been annoyed at how poorly colons show on this forum that I've sometimes taken the extreme measure of bolding them just to ensure they're noticable.IP: Logged |

I do that too as well AG, word skipping. I also put the wrong tense in sometimes as well. I try to change it as fast as possible; I'm usually worried that BM will pick me up about it. IP: Logged |

EDIT - Must be the Uranus square Mercury in me, the word skipping and odd expressions; hard t-square it is. EDITx2 - Never heard of "kvetch". Learnt a new word today. EDITx3 - Do you think Pallas might have something to do with pedantry? Pallas is associated with pattern recognition. Incorrect spelling and grammar might be a violation of this pattern recognition. I have Pallas at 29 deg Pisces; it squares my Venus, disassociate sextiles my Sun/Merc, but more importantly, it trines my Saturn. IP: Logged |

Another 6th house Pallas here, at 29* Aries. Trine Virgo M.C. I just checked.I also amended a typo on my previous post. What is it about uncapitialised I? That annoys me, as well. IP: Logged |

I really hate it when people violate the spacing rules around punctuation. It makes text very hard to read. IP: Logged |

The utter abuse of the paragraph irritates me, and as 23 points out, makes it hard to read the post. quote: I've been annoyed at how poorly colons show on this forum that I've sometimes taken the extreme measure of bolding them just to ensure they're noticable.

I've tried to bold my semi-colons in the previous "EDIT" post and I'm disappointed by the boldness of them.I also admit that I don't read posts by some people because it's just too hard to. I've got no problems against them personally though. IP: Logged |
