That's actually a pretty complicated topic. People like me feel like you don't need anything else but the seven visible planets and the myriad of techniques that accompany them to get a good reading. Others think you should throw in other things for their own reasons, but I'm not so hip on that, especially when we don't differentiate logically between what's important and what's not. It's pretty much your choice, but I wouldn't jump on things before you had time to actually think about them and compare them to others like so many others have done. Get the basics down first, ie major planets and points. Asteroids I think is the cherry on the pie. I think asteroids are important, I think everything is but the impacts of planets are the most important and should be looked at first. IP: Logged |

I absolutely agree with Sei No Senshi and 23.The planets, signs, houses, points, and aspects have all the questions/answers we could possibly try to comprehend as mere humans, and the most intelligent astrologer with a lifetime of studying those facets would still have plenty of room for expanding their knowledge within them. I don't bother with asteroids, and staying away from them is my advice. Thousands of asteroids only confound astrology, there's probably an asteroid for underwater basket weaving. Astrology can be a daunting examination, and I'm just a student. Still, I feel the study of asteroids is an act of desperation for people who are looking to justify/satisfy some part of themselves when they don't have the education to recognize it in the basic chart.
