Hmm, there are many theories on how to find a dominant planet. It could be one exactly conjunct your ASC, MC, DSC or IC. It could be a singleton. It could be the one with the most and strongest aspects. And so on.
Just look at your chart, which planet seems to stand out? (BTW the chartruler is always a very important planet). In my case it is pretty easy to say.
I have a massive stellium in Sagittarius in the 1st house; ruler of that stellium and the ASC is Jupiter in Pisces; Neptune in Sagittarius sits exactly on the ASC. So there is a mutual reception of Jupiter and Neptune. I think it`s easy to say that Jupiter and Neptune are VERY strong planets for me. I definitely think, that if you have a stellium in a certain sign, you should have a look at the ruler of that sign to see how it is integrated in your chart.

DD would you say that the Pullen print out on astro.com is accurate in showing the most dominating planet/sign/element?For example my most dominating planets in order are Pluto, Jupiter and the Moon. For me it seems accurate as my Moon/Pluto conjunction squares my Sun/Mercury, inconjunct my Mars and sextile my MC and I have a stellium in Sagittarius with Venus, Saturn in the 8H and then Uranus in the 9H. Aqua/Scorp, In my experience, the Pullen chart is fairly accurate, although as I've said on this and other forums the methodology does have some holes in it. My Pluto, for instance, is conjunct the Sun and Ascendant and rules my 1st house Scorpio stellium, but is only 8th in my Pullen ranking. Clairvision Astrology is another site that gives dominant rankings, although they have some questionable methods as well. I think that the best way to find your dominant planet is, as DD said, to look at the overall tenor of your chart. What signs, houses, etc. are prominent? Is a planet/planets exalted, in detriment, or in fall by sign or house? What planet is the most aspected? Think about transits to your natal planets...which ones bring about the most change. Most of the time it's actually pretty easy to assess what planet or planets have a dominant influence in your chart. Good luck!

Lara,On astro.com, open up your name and click on the Extended Chart Selection link on the main menu. Next, click on the Pullen/Astrolog link. On this section's pull down menu, bring up Simple Delineation; the Rankings are about 3/4 of the way down the delineation. IP: Logged |

I think the PUllen chart is fairly accurate. My strongest planet would be Jupiter, which is understandable with that emphasis on SAgittarius and there are some Jupiter-aspects. NExt are Venus, mercury, Mars and Neptune, all about equal, which also makes sense. Personally I do feel that Neptune may be more influential than the others. My strongest signs would be Sagittarius, Pisces and Aries, which also makes sense. So in my case it is pretty reliable.
(The emphasis on Aries is due to my SAgittarius planets all in 1st house). IP: Logged |
