Birth events and planets aspecting the Ascendant have been mentioned on Lara's thread, I wondered if anyone has any stories to tell?

I have given birth twice. The first time has Mars and Neptune Rising on the chart. He was born in a water pool. Quicker than expected, one of the midwives had to come out of a fire safety seminar to attend.

It sounds like I am making it up. I'm not.

The second time the midwife had tried to persaude me to have a home birth. Luckily he was born in the middle of the night as his father had to drive down the coastal road at speed. Cancer Rising. No Mars, though. 10 minute labour.

Mars is prominent on my Ascendant, Square with an orb of 4 seconds. It rules the 5th and the 6th houses. My birth took about 20 minutes. The reason I have an accurate time of birth is because my father was surprised I was already born when he phoned up the hospital to see how my mother was getting on (fine, she didn't have a useless lump standing by her saying, "go on now, push").

I have also had 5 miscarriages, at least one was a girl. Maybe I'm no good for producing females, I don't know, or is it all that Mars action?

I have this constellation, too. Mars 2 degree before the ASC, Neptune 3 degree into the 1st house.
I was a quick birth, as my mum tells. So quick that the doctor almost came too late. lol (It was maybe the only thing I ever did quickly ).

Also, I had the cord around my throat and shoulders. Luckily it was long enough, so I didn`t strangle myself.
Jupiter squares my ASC, and I was a pretty big baby. Not too big, but for a girl pretty heavy (I still am as a matter of fact).

I`m sorry to hear about your miscarriages, BM.

My Ma is a Cancer Sun/Gemini Moon/Scorpio ASC with Mars rising.

She had me when she was 36, so there were a lot of worries and complications about my birth and my Ma always likes to remind me that she nearly died giving birth to me. I'm not sure the exact details of what was happening to her when she was giving birth to me. Because of her age, she had gestational diabetes. I was supposed to be born in late July but I got so big by June that my Aunt (I see her every other Sunday or so and she loves to remind me that she was the very first person in whole wide world to ever see me ) decided to induce. Apparently, I was a very timely baby (induced at 7am, out by 2pm) but I guess the entire ordeal was very intense and I had to get pulled out halfway through because my Ma nearly passed out from lack of energy/pain. My Dad used to call me Spock as a kid because my ears had a slight tip to them from being tugged out (I'm also his Star Trek buddy; nerdy I know). I have Scorpio Pluto/Moon in the 1st.

My brother's birth was super quick and far more pleasant, even though my Ma was 38 when he was born. He was nearly born in the car, and he was born two weeks late actually. My Dad remembers his birth time distinctly because it was around 6:15am that my parents rushed to the hospital and he kept watching the time blinking on his radio. My brother has Scorpio ASC like my Ma and has both Sun and Venus rising, so I'm not too surprised his birth was less harsh than mine.

Both my boys were born when uranus (my 5th house ruler) was opposite my natal venus (chart ruler).

My first was induced at full term but I had a natural birth (barr the drugs). He had a traumatic birth though aas his shoulder blocked his body from full delivery and he had to be ressucitated. They brought him to intensive care overnight for observation but he was just fine and the healthiest baby, ate well, slept well, full of energy and still is! He is a Gemini, Sagittarius asc and pluto in the 1st house on the ascendant, (just like me).

My 2nd son slipped out! (a pisces go figure!) I decided I wasn't budging when I started feeling contractions and took myself off to have my baby in my room lol But my mother and partner were having none of it. I just made it to the hospital where there was a queue of labouring women waiting to get into a labour room so I had to wait I was told! I wasn't waiting any longer, so instead of having him on the middle of reception with a full audience I slipped into the toilet and had him there! lol
The midwife got there just as his head was out.
Very dramatic!
He is a Pisces Sun, libra moon conjunct his libran ascendant.

Oh and my boys birth times are exact! As soon as I gave birth I asked 'what time is it?'.
