bullshine eh? Is that like "the cow jumped over the moon"-shine?Anyway, great question... being skinny as a rake and 5'7 tall l often wonder what defines this. All my family are skinny and tall plus have fast metabolisms so l guess genes? Let me look at our aspects and get back to you on it. IP: Logged |

my mum, my brother and l eat like horses!we all never change weight... in fact it's freaky cos when l was 18 l was 49 kilo's. Now im 40, have 3 kids and am still 49 kilo's lol I have no idea how it happened but l just would look like l swallowed a huge watermelon, give birth and start all over again  My body burns energy so fast though and it's mostly from thinking and mental stimulation. My mind is 24/7 GO GO GO. nuts. IP: Logged |

I heard bad jupiter aspects to ascendant (sqaure especailly) can make a person obese. I haven't seen this ever in real life, but have read about it. On a personal note, I have jupiter trine ascendant. im not obese lol, or even overwieght, BUT i do gain wieght very easily. basically, with this aspect, I've noticed that I am what I eat lol :P IP: Logged |

Genetics, not astrology, determine things like bodysize and attractiveness and intelligence.However, astrology can show whether you are MORE attractive, MORE intelligent, fitter, fatter, more active, etc, than your other family members or general inheritance would otherwise suggest. Jupiter conjunct Venus conjunct the Moon (habits) might make someone prone to becoming fatter, alternatively that kind of combination in Taurus or Libra or in the 5th house (7th might mean fat after marriage!). Dunno about Libra being tall, AG - I know of one Libra who is tiny! (On the flipside, I also know a Libra who's over 6 foot).I'm 5'2" and petite, and I think of this being to do with my Mars in Pisces (as in my physicality being very small). Not all tiny people are Mars in Pisces or have any Pisces at all though. IP: Logged |

I believe both in astrology and genetics. But I'm exceptionally tall for being a female in my family. I'm 5'11, and all the other women in my family aren't any taller than maybe 5'5, even my Father is only 6 ft at the most. I guess that Sagittarius ascendant may give me that extra height. I believe the pisces moon thing, and dainty feet theory, I have very small feet and hands for how tall I am. ------------------

as I child I was skinny and fit. during early teen years I was overweight. as teen years progressed I started to sprought and the weight spread out. wasnt exactly muscled out though. Now 20. 6 foot 3 inches tall. 210 lbs. more muscular. If I dont stay active I could very well gain weight or just become untone. Moon in Libra Trine Venus, Jupiter in Taurus. placements indicating indulgence in venusian things especially with jupiter in expansion. luckily I have a Sun / Mars enhancement with Mars being in Aries. Virgo ascending to try to stay healthy. When the Node axis is parrallel to the AC/DC axis is spawns people that are unusually tall or short. in my case being 6'3 I suppose I got the former. Thankfully. but being tall isnt what its cracked up to be.IP: Logged |

For height you look to see if your Ascendant is in a sign of Long or Short Ascension, then you look to see what modifies it.Over weight can be a water sign trait
(retains water)
or the Venus signs
Libra and Taurus.
as well as Jupiter conjunct
(expansive)
and sometimes the Moon
but with a Saturn aspect or Saturn in the 1st house this will not happen. (modified)
You really have to look at each aspect to the Ascendant (your body) and see how they modify each other. High metabolism is seen through Mars,
(sign, house, and aspect)
Here is your energy level, fire signs are going to be active as well as a 1st house Mars or conjunct the Sun, Uranus or Jupiter.
Mercury and Mars has a high metabolism with nervous energy.
Then look at the aspects. bottom line is
Look at the Ascendant, Ruler, 1st House, and aspects to the Asc
to determine your external self.
(but don't forget to consider the Sun and Moon) Yes I agree with genetics
but with Astrology you can also carry the same or similar planet placements/aspects from your parents. I hope that makes sense.
And of course those examples are not the only ones but the only ones I'm coming up with right now.

Well it's interesting because as a Sag rising I'm not tall - but I am the tallest woman in my immediate family. With chart ruler in Aries I have always enjoyed being fit and although I'm petite I tend to have good muscle tone.We saw a woman last night with puffy ankles and Mr Gem commented that she is probably a Pisces descendant. Yet he remained mysterious as to why the DSC would have anything to do with physical appearance. The only reason I can come up with is that the DSC is like a secondary Venus and it could be how we attract our partners?? I don't know, it seemed very vague. Then I said, well what you're saying is that she's a Virgo rising and then I challenged him to say why he thinks she would be a Virgo rising. He said she had a plain, symmetrical face.  IP: Logged |

Your post was interesting, LaLa. I'd describe myself as a TOFI ~ thin on the outside, fat on the inside.

TOFI can be seen on my chart with the rising sign Scorpio on a 1st house containing Jupiter in Sag. I sit around a lot eating cake and chocolate. I like walking and yoga but don't make much effort and I avoid most exercise. The Scorpionic Ascendant is Square Mars within seconds. Mars is also Square Mercury on my chart. If I worked in a field I would be waif-like, but with the modern sedentary lifestyle my BMI is average, something like 22. By contrast my brother is Taurus Rising. He is a lot taller and is more solidly constructed. Like a tree-trunk. He is also very sensible and tells his wife not to go on endless diets to conform to the media idea of slim as desirable. He has never liked sugary food and has always been far more active then me, he's good at sport. Some people are bigger than others, even in the same family, wow, there's news. mmm, in Asia i'm normal to tall, but in the West i'm a petite little lechien. i'm a Sagi rising but i grew slowly and remember as always being one of the smallest ones in class. i've gained 5 kilos in 10 years though. but i think it made me look more feminine than when i was being called a"twig"...
