It means you`re brought to face primal instincts; I also once read the interpretation that it means the "confrontation of karmic issues".

I think it`s a very powerful Sabian.

Here is the interpretation of mindfire:

"PHASE 166 (VIRGO 16°): IN THE ZOO, CHILDREN ARE BROUGHT FACE TO FACE WITH AN ORANG-UTANG.

KEYNOTE: A direct confrontation with the "wild" power of primordial nature within oneself.

During this twelfth subcycle closing the first half of the cycle we deal with phases of unfoldment which can be very broadly classified under the term "e-ducation," i.e. a leading out into the world of transcendent activity. Every hidden motive and depth energy has to be "led out" and objectively faced. According to the occult tradition, at least some of the ape species are actually throwbacks resulting from the perversion of the Man archetype when it belatedly came in touch with the elemental energies of an adolescent Earth. Likewise many of the so-called "primitive" tribes in places like Australia and New Guinea should be considered degenerate remnants of races which once had reached a much higher level of culture. In other words, the symbol refers to the confrontation of future-oriented modern children with the results of what one might refer to as an "original sin" — that is, with the degeneration of enormous vitalistic power once available to the human being. That power is now directed toward the mind, and has been immensely magnified by modern, technology. Yet there are residual remains of this vitalistic power in modern man's nature, and we may well repeat at a higher level the "sin of the mindless." The candidate for Initiation must face this possibility; the whole of mankind, in a sense, is a candidate for a planetary Initiation.

This is the first stage of the thirty-fourth sequence of symbols. Its symbol speaks of KARMIC CONFRONTATION. "

I think that Sabian is about facing your deep urges and instincts, which can be primordial and wild (Orang Utan) and which may be hidden and even suppressed (he is in a cage). And you may be amazed and surprised at what powerful and deep feelings you are capable of (the children who see the wild animal for the first time).
Probably it is about acknowledging the existence of these feelings, withough letting them overpower you (the Orang Utan is in a cage).

Thanks DD. It must be hard bringing this type of news to the unlucky person....

Jane, you said it baby!!!!

I shall use my Sag Moon initiative of expanding knowledge and seek new insights into this withering degenerate primal urge that is brewing deep beneath my chest.

I love DD's interpretation.

The only thing I'd add is that since you have Venus there, it's specifically your love nature that will introduce you to the wilder parts of your psyche. So all in all, I'd say that's a pretty hot sabian you have there, my friend.

I agree, very hot Sabian.

NOt like mine:

"A veiled prophet speaks seized by the power of a God"

What on earth should THAT have to do with love and relationships and other Venusian matters?

A lot, considering the type of subtle messages you receive in your dreams and other weird coincidences, methinks.

The prophecy shall be fulfilled!

I think izo hit the nail on the head! Your psychic sensitivity does seem strongest in terms of love.

I wonder what "veiled" means? It could mean
1. That you and/or others are unaware of your own prophet nature. You're not clearly seen as the prophet you really are.
OR
2. That the moment when you're "seized by the power of a God" isn't a moment that we associate with prophecy. But in that spiritual moment, you know truth, which includes knowing what will grow from that moment (prophecy).

I'm inclined toward the 2nd one, just b/c I'm a metaphorical type of gal, and am kinda freaked out by the 1st if it means you're a a real prophet.

So if we go with 2...seized by the power of a god...what's the moment that informs you of truth...since it's your Venus, love is your moment of truth, when you stop being as your personal self (you're veiled; the personal you is subdued), but instead tap into truths greater than yourself. Those truths could then be applied to yourself, giving you greater clarity (remove the veil) about who you are and your place in life. Love for you is an enlightening experience. Ahh yeah, you get a hot sabian too.

Jane,

you are simply brilliant!

Yes, I think the 2nd interpretation would be right (I am definitely no prophet :laughing . It`s through love that I have my most interesting insights.
And my prophetic dreams always revolve about love and relationships in some way.

Zala, I tried your oracle... my question was "will l ever have a daughter"
The answer was

AQUARIUS 7
A CHILD BORN OUT OF AN EGGSHELL

This Symbol signifies finding new ways of doing things. Make sure you have the needed materials and resources to nourish this new beginning. Your desire to find a unique way will give you the ability to find new paths and a new emergence.
Transmutation. Birth of a whole new creative original impulse. Expressions of self in a whole new light. Incubated ideas coming to fruition. Private schools. Indigo and Star children.

AMAZING!

Not my oracle, Lara -- Lynda Hill's -- she's one of the recognized experts on the Sabian Symbols.....
quote:
Virgo 16 ~

Commentary: “Delighted Children Crowd Around the Orangutan Cage in a Zoo,” pictures young people pressing together to observe intriguing and wonderful animals that are unusual to them. They don’t have a chance to see these animals in their everyday life. Grown “Orangutans” are very similar to “Children”: they are said to have a similar mental capacity to that of a five-year-old. “Children” have great fun watching their antics. The “Orangutan” can also be seen observing the “Children.” The responses of wonder and curiosity are obviously evident in the “Delighted Children,” but may well be what the “Orangutan” is also experiencing. The “Children” watch to see what will happen and they take pleasure in the things they can relate to.

Oracle: This Symbol expresses the desire to relate across gulfs of differences that are very obvious between different species. Observing the life of an “Orangutan” is like looking into an evolutionary mirror. We are able to see where we have been, how differently we relate to the world, and how we have chosen to deal with our environment. It is not a matter of the human species being better. Indeed, one comes to realize the degree of similarity. Sometimes people we encounter in this life seem to be from a different species (or planet!) and have a totally opposite perspective of life, leading to completely different ways of acting and reacting. It can, at times, lead to a feeling of separation, but there is value in remaining aware of and appreciating the similarities and common ground along with the differences. There may need to be a “primitive” or “Childlike” response. It is also by facing the baser instincts that you can realize a fresh, new approach to those around you.

Keywords: Karmic confrontations between the creatively integrated and the unevolved. Objects of derision, fascination or worship. Showing off or acting to get a reaction from others. Trying to relate to others who don’t understand. Feeling like one is in a zoo. Observing others. Curiosity. Crowding around. Everyone wanting to have a look. Going by instincts. Television shows such as Jerry Springer. News networks. The media. Lack of social inhibition.

The Caution: Egoistic feelings of being better or in a higher state of evolution. Having no place for privacy. Gaping at others. Taunting people. Daring others to do something outrageous or animal-like. Making fun of people. Building cages. Hiding from view. Fences and barriers. The intrusion of the media (beating up stories). Eliciting sick behavior from others.

What does this SYMBOL say to you?

Blain Bovee takes another tack:
quote:
"An Orangutan" (16 Virgo) and “The Flow of Inspiration” (16 Pisces)

Aspect: Conjunction.
Quality: Focus.
Shared Motifs: “The raw flow of instinctual power,” “the gold within”

“An orangutan” is an image of the wild man within. “Orangutan” is a Malaysian word meaning wild man, or man of the forest wilderness. An “orangutan” is a large anthropoid of reddish yellow to brown color. The word for the color orange arises from the term “aur”, gold, and “naranga”, orangetree, in Arabic and Tamil. The orangutan mirrors for humans a primitive ancestral image, one that swings in the trees of the forest wilderness. Most humans never see an orangutan, let alone the wild inner primitive self, except behind bars in a zoo, or perhaps in bars that are like zoos, or when men who, having behaved like animals, are behind bars.

“The flow of inspiration” is an image of seamless inner connections with the source of life power. “Inspiration” is the infusion or arousal of energy that can lead to a creative action. “Chi” is a Chinese term, difficult to translate, meaning the flor of inherent life energy. To be in harmony with the natural flow of chi opens one to deep sources of vibrant power and well-being. “Inspiration” is an illuminating flow of divine energy, as in being inspired by one’s muse. Muses, being the daughters of Memory, may call upon primal archaic memories of a more ape-like inheritance. Such a flow calls for an intimate inwardness. “Inspiration” is also to draw in fresh air in the process of breathing.

Civilized and refined manners not only shape socially acceptable expression to raw human energies, but can also separate a man from the deep, inner, instinctive source of power. “Iron Hans,” a wonderfull story collected and adapted by the Brothers Grimm, tells of an unruly wild man all covered in rust-colored mud, terrifying the forest wilderness. The story relays the unfolding of several motifs: encountering, capturing and caging the wild man; liberating the wild man; relating to the wild man. Having made friends with the wild man, the boy grows into manhood, begins to get in touch with the gold, the power of the self, within.

Apply this degree-pair with a mind to deep inner sources of inspiration; almost compelling urges to act without thinking; the clash between wild inner instinct and tamed outer expression. Think of surges of sexual power; containing instincts, as a muse in a museum or as stifling wildness in a cage. Watch for red hair; matted hair, internal inflammations seeking external expression; creative strokes that shine like gold. Be alert for mirror images; revelations about human and ape-like affinities; raw, powerful expressions as opposed to mere emulation; refined social manners encroaching on one’s inner wilderness; stark stripping away of social niceties. Consider pent-up forces that call for assimilation; malaise from feeling caged; a dexterity for getting the swing of things; breathing techniques for drawing on inner resources.
