I keep reading all this death stuff here and how Jupiter is associated with death, and I've getting my Jupiter return and also having Pluto stuff, and also when I progress my chart, I'm seeing Jupiter in the 8th. Eeek! Jeez, am I going to die soon or what?! I know it may sound silly, but I'm pretty freaked out, you know? And in my solar return chart, my sun was in the 12th...

Does anyone here look at transits and progressions and wonder about their own death? Am I just being really paranoid or what?!

Why is Jupiter associated with death? I have Jupiter in the 8th house and I've been told it means I will live a long life.

Sun in the twelfth house of solar return means you gonna spend the year basically keeping to yourself. It doesn't have anything to do with death. I wouldn't worry about it.

I have Jupiter in the 8th, too, and I've had at least a couple returns already this year. I don't think it means death. It might mean luck, though.

Yes, Sun in the 12th in SRetrun definitely means you will keep to yourself. That is the placement I have this year and I had one a few years ago. Both times I moved and dropped all contact from many people in my life and spent more time alone than normal. Different circumstances, same theme. You'll be flying under the radar in many ways.

Hope you can enjoy your own company!

Yeah, I guess I'm just being all psycho..thank guys. I know I'm being superstitious and all that - I don't actually believe these transits mean anything, but I get weirded out sometimes and irrational.
26taurus, yeah you're right about flying under the radar. It's also a 7 year for me (my own life path number), so I have been holed up and will continue to do so. I've got plenty of imaginary inner friends to keep me highly entertained (as long as they're not scaring me with the death stuff LOL).

VirgOh, yabni ana freaking out as per usual.
Should probably cut back on the coffee hehe.

Thanks for the reality check, guys

you might suddenly have gifts/inheritance/debt write off from someone with Jupiter in 8th (who knows? lolz) (and this is another side of 8th not concerning death/sex/etc )

So...you've looked at your transits, your progressed and solar return chart(and what else?), and found one thing from each you think could indicate death?? It's like those people who have a crush on someone, and then combine all kinds of desperate crap from different charts they manage to find and decide they're soul mates

I don't know what you mean by Pluto stuff, but it extremely rarely means actual physical death. And your way of picking and mixing random, isolated things from each different chart to support your fears is kind of silly

Dammit Nightjar, you're right. It is silly. I hate how paranoid I've been.
It's more of a major transition...an ongoing one.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to my gaming ...multiple deaths there fulfill my self-fulfilling prophecy !!!

toodles!

you can't live in fear mvm. You have much to contribute to this world, your kindness, sense of humor and love of good food is necessary!

I wish I could cook you an awesome dinner (something rich and fattening and sinful) and a nice bottle of wine and sit around and relax and talk about great things to come and share a few laughs! I wish you awesome health, happy surprises and true love always!

See thats what I mean about reading to much into Astrology..PPl are coming up with the most crazy stuff now..Live your life and don't give into this stuff like that..Your time is your time but worrying about when your time is may cause you to worry yourself to death..Every part of a persons life should not be based around astrology..

please don't worry.

transits aren't mean to be feared. They are meant to give insight into events(internal, external)

Transiting Pluto is in my 4th house conjuncting my Sun/Mars midpoint, squaring my Pluto in 1st along with secondary progressed Sun conjunct my Mars/Pluto midpoint. I am still alive. I haven't had any violence that would cause me death. Sure..it's possible, but it doesn't have to be that way. I have the free will to prevent myself from being hurt and killed. One of those things is be careful and alert when I am walking at night. I do that any way. I was the type of person that even though I didn't use the buddy system when I was in other countries in the navy, I stayed out of trouble. It was because I didn't get drunk as well as was alert, cautious, careful, and just used common sense. I was courteous to strangers.

Those things make it highly unlikely that I will be a victim of violence.

as a somebody who had near brush with death in early childhood with mom being shot 3 days before my 3rd birthday by a schizophrenic stranger that broke in our home with transiting Uranus aspecting my Mars/Pluto midpoint square Ascendant(unexpected violence in the environment), I know that death is something that can come at any time and not afraid of it. When I was growing up,I even believed that I was destined to die at an early age. I am a strong believer in the afterlife. I believe in reincarnation. Therefore,I believe that death is just a transition from the physical plane to a metaphysical plane. I believe that I will reincarnate again on this planet many times and even reincarnate on other planets too. I believe that there are other planets with life. There are billions of stars, and millions of them could have planets....there could be hundreds of them that could have life.

I believe that Pluto and its fellow kuiper belt objects can be associated with going to the "other side".

as for Jupiter in 8th house, heck.......you could have a great sexlife...Jupiter(expansive) in 8th (sex).

also..if you end up getting a partner, he could have lots of money. 8th house is 2nd house from the 7th house. so Jupiter(expansion) in 8th (partner's money).

focus on the positive stuff and not the negative stuff.

as for my Mars-Pluto stuff, well....it can be good for any physical activity. with Ascendant,1st house involved, transformation of the body. I have been dieting, losing weight. I can fit in 32 waist jeans again with me being 5'11. I haven't had any sweets, junkfood since mid-July. I didn't even have pie for thanksgiving. I will skip out on pie on Christmas too. hahahaha

my Venus/Node midpoint is conjunct my Sun/Mars midpoint, and they square my Pluto...with transiting Pluto aspecting that configuration, maybe I will meet a woman that I will have a passionate, intense love connection with.

but yeah...there are positives for any configuration.

so don't worry. be happy.

i agree with 26T about the SR sun in the 12th house. it's been my lot and will be until february. so far, i went back to france after spending several years in busy london. i now work in a wood factory (when i was studying politics and swahili in london), everyone seems to be from the same family or at least know everything there is to know about everyone. after the individualism (and freedom) of london, it's a change, but one much appreciated. then, next february, my SR moves to the 8th house. yuppi!!

after pondering a few many times about suicide... and so DEATH, i think god / life will decide for me when it will happen. no need to mention that i can't wait, but that's may be due to my natal 8th house sun or some personal issues that have been coming up recently. i don't look forward to die *finger on his chin, thinking*, well my point is life is to be lived and as we know we are part of life, so we don't die, we just move on/change dimension. so i don't worry about death. no fear about it.

however, i think now that when it has to come, it is a blessing. it happens because it has to, and everything happen at the right time, which we don't and can't control.

last point, if 12th house has anything to do with pisces, then i see it as a connection with others (at large), a plus then, not a minus.

so yeah, like all others, i'd say don't worry.

and like 26T, enjoy yourself sister, and everyone else!

MyVirgoMask,

A very wise man named Little Stevie Wonder once said, "...if you believe in things that you don't understand, then you suffer. Superstition ain't the way."

Be careful of what you read on this site or other sites. When you discover something so strange that it disturbs you during your astrological studies, try double checking or triple checking with others who know more about the symbolism.

When I saw your original post I laughed because you are having one of the luckiest most rewarding transits you can have in your life. Your Jupiter return is something you should look forward to every 12 years and the fact that you are already lucky enough to have Jupiter in your 8th House of finances (The 2nd and 8th House are financial houses), you are quite a fortunate person.

So that's why I'm laughing, and I think you can now afford to laugh along. Enjoy this time, the universe has gifts for you at this time.

"death" is relative word.

What means the physical death to some means a transition to others, what means a spiritual death to some means con-joining to others...etc.

Death is a human word, and it is SO relative.

I have refrained so many times from looking at the transits of an individual when he/she died (physically), I have so many times refrained from casting a death chart.

It really does not matter, it is all relative and all going to happen to us humans, sometime.

Why worry when, just enjoy now, not even today, cause this could all end for you and me in just a moment.

Nothing in life is guaranteed, especially not the symbolic meaning of transits upon a birth chart cast upon paper.

blessings

Thanks, you guys. I really appreciate this. It's true, I have been feeling mighty superstitious these days (and was listening to the song itself last night to boot lol).

I have been hearing that the Jupiter stuff is lucky, and I am trying to think positively, though the past couple of years have been nothing short of hell in a hand basket.

Have you ever felt like the past you is gone for good, and there's nothing you can do to get him/her back (that him/her being YOU) ? And you know it's for the best, but it's also really confusing and intimidating because it means you have to start from scratch all over again...? I do this all the time, but this is probably one of the biggest transitions I've ever had in my life! My own beliefs and sense of faith has been shaken to the core. So I guess maybe it's somewhat normal to almost expect a physical manifestation (i.e., death) of the transition itself in order to wrap my mind around it, though it is a rather base way to translate change.

With my Jupiter in the 8th, I was thinking that it MIGHT mean I will get a little bit of money from my ex-husband from the house which just sold....which I could really, really use right about now. We're on decent terms, so hopefully it's a go! Fingers crossed As for the Pluto stuff...well, Pluto's been pretty prominent in my life. When it was squaring my sun and was in the 8th...well, that was complete hell, I can assure you. I felt like a flimsy, damp piece of paper that had been crumpled up and then put up to a sun lamp to fry for a while
I'm happy it's a nice 8 degrees away now, still squaring my sun but no longer cramping my style (I can thank Saturn for that now. That creep.)

Overall I feel very lucky though, and I really enjoy being here on LL. I really think you guys are great, and regardless of all the astrology stuff, I truly enjoy the company of people on this board and find everyone extremely unique and contributes in a individual way...I really like that.

I'm all sentimental and squishy now...wish you guys were all here so I could cook a big dinner!

I'm off to make a batch of spicy chocolate-pepper cookies

Love you guys

Hmmmm... even to old fatalistic astrology, Jupiter is the great benefic so I don't think you're going to die?

I had Jupiter and Pluto exactly conjunct my DSC last year and my boyfriend(s) didn't die. And Jupiter is transiting through my 8th now. I'm not too worried.
