This is a fun astrological exercise every year. Here it is:

Another t-square is apparent right off the bat. Saturn and Uranus are still doing their dance, and bringing my Solar Moon into it, too.

Tim Wilson used to speak of the "Easy Opposition". This is when an opposition is made easier through a planet forming a trine and a sextile with both ends of the opposition. In this case Mercury (conjunct Ascendant) is that facilitator. It forms a trine to Saturn and a sextile to Uranus (sextile to Uranus sounds kinky). As such, in theory Mercury should be my means of easing any trouble that opposition causes.

That 12th house stellium is interesting. I'm not sure what to make of that.

With my natal:

I think that's it for tonight.

Hi AG,
You might be having a spiritual expereince this year because the Sabian Symbol of your Mars in the Solar Return Chart is "The Pope Blessing the Faithful" and your Moon is bang on target on the Galactic Centre.

Interesting! Thanks for your input. Is the Galactic Center at 27 degrees?

I also have that stellium in the spiritual 12th house.

I also notice that my natal 9th house cusp is conjunct my SR Ascendant. I'm not sure if that should be considered significant or not, but it ties into this whole spiritual aspect of this chart.

Mercury conjunct Jupiter and Venus conjunct Neptune in separate signs but all in the 1st house seems fairly significant.

This is extremely significant, just think, what are the chances that the 9th house Cusp ruling truthful religious insights becomes SR Asc right when the Moon conjuncts the GC?
This is a wonderful divine plan unfolding for you to mazimize your spiritual knowledge this year.

It's in the Extended Chart selection, first page. Just choose "Solar Return," or one of the ones that incorporates it. Also, remember to change the reference place to where you currently live (and reduce orbs to 70 - 75%). It has an asterisk, which is supposed to mean that you need to put the date in, but it seems to know. May be it just needs the year.

Jupiter is on the ascendant if you read it like a regular chart.
Maybe you'll expand.

Jupiter's near the Ascendant. Mercury is more on it. Them conjunct my Ascendant would seem to indicate expansive [perhaps philosophical] (Jupiter) thinking (Mercury) will be apparent as part of my personality (Ascendant).

I wonder what Solar Return Moon square natal Moon means. The Solar Moon is in a more neutral aspect to my Sun. Hmmmm...

Hey AG, your sun's in the 12th too for your Solar Return (like mine)!

Looks like one of those years for looking within. My own sun is in the 5th in my natal chart and in my Solar the moon (which is in the 12th in my natal chart) is in the 5th,and in Pisces...completely reversed (feeling turned inside-out ? lol)

That Sagittarius moon looks promising regardless, I'd say.

I read somewhere (was it Cafe Astrology?) that your ascendant sign in your Solar Return is how you approach that year, and the MC is what your aim is. What do you think? Do you feel that's true?

Do you have Gemini Rising in your natal chart, too?

Your SR story is interesting. With your natal Sun in the 5th, and Moon in the 12th, you should be a fairly naturally creative person. Both of those houses, and probably both of those signs (Virgo and Taurus?) are creative. Your SR (Solar Return) Moon (water) in Pisces (water) [water's quite creative] in Leo's house of creative expression (the 5th) seems like it might bring your creativity into your life in a greater way. Does that SR Moon trine your SR Ascendant? If so, that links the creativity into the personality you're displaying this year.

I'll answer the questions in your post whenever I'm here next.

AG, that's just funny you should say something about the creative stuff. I've been completely flustered with this sudden returning desire to do more visual art (and have been doing so erratically) while my work on my second book has been at a standstill. Did I mention I have both the Moon AND Neptune in my 5th for the Solar Return? I feel so fluffy lately

My ascendant in my SR is in Libra, and hell...so much of my SR chart seems to be in Libra also, Mars, Venus, Mercury (That adds to the fluffy feeling)...and my Mercury and Venus are also in the 1st house of my SR too, along with Mars, conjunct the ascendant. The moon doesn't trine my SR ascendant, though it sextiles my natal one.

Overall, this has somehow been feeling like a year of gestation thus far. Creative work and life in general has this tone of somehow teeming beneath the surface, only making tiny ripples, but I've got major plans up my sleeve come March, when I move AGAIN, this time back to the bay area (Oh, I have waited YEARS to do this, dammit)

Are you feelin' the love from Saturn right now on your natal Moon ? I'm getting it on my sun and it's right at 0 degrees right now. It is not pretty for creativity, I can tell you that.

You've got that Mars in the 12th along with Pluto. I'm wondering how the Mars will play out, especially with a Cappy SR ascendant. Maybe you're more true to your Capricorn self this year somehow? It looks like a careful year, like you're planning something and being extremely thoughtful in your execution. That's just my gut instinct talking...

I wish Jane would pop in here. She's got some uncanny observations on this stuff...

I like your SR

It has so much focus to it... and growth. I think you will learn some deep inner things about yourself and then structure and apply them through a re-birth.

Your chart reminds me a little of my natal

Mercury on the AC will give open the channels for you and let the inside come out and heal. Pluto conjunct sun l see as internal regeneration... mars conjunct moon... the moon will be released of it's emotional suppression by conjoining with applying conjunct to mars in sag.

Venus/neptune in aquarius... wow. You might even come out of this year with a totally different view of spiritual love.

does this make sense or am l spouting rubbish?
i'm reading it totally intuitively!

Has anyone mentioned that all planets are direct? There is approx. 8% chance of this. Dogged perseverance. Mercury rising highlights a mental focus; conducting a conference call with Saturn, as optician.
Chiron - Venus in SR chart are "hitting" (chart ruler) natal Mercury as well. Very interesting SR. You could spend days deciphering it.
AG- could you add Vertex? Inquiring minds want to know :

Ok, here you go.

I noticed last night that Saturn and Uranus are both backing up my SR-Ascendant, and both signs that those planets rule are in the first.

quote:
I read somewhere (was it Cafe Astrology?) that your ascendant sign in your Solar Return is how you approach that year, and the MC is what your aim is. What do you think? Do you feel that's true?

That sounds reasonable. My SR-MC is nearly sextile my SR-Asc and suggests some transformational aim.

____

I think this might be a year for creativity for me as well with the Moon connecting to Venus conjunct Neptune. I have Venus conjunct Neptune in my natal, too.

quote:
Are you feelin' the love from Saturn right now on your natal Moon ? I'm getting it on my sun and it's right at 0 degrees right now. It is not pretty for creativity, I can tell you that.

My Moon's at 29 degrees, so it's not quite conjunct yet. Perhaps it will be during the coming year, though, which may correlate with my SR-Moon being in a more favorable position to my Sun. If you think about it, the ruler of my Sun, [which is] Saturn, is going to be exerting its influence on my Moon soon. I think this could possible indicate that my Sun and the sign of Capricorn in general may be taking over for this year. They're going to put the Moon into submission.

Then, to take it a step further, my SR-Moon is in a tight stellium with SR-Pluto and SR-Mars, so this could mean that my emotional nature is tranformed through action. SR-Pluto and SR-Mars are also conjunct my Sun, so they should be tranforming it in a similar way.

AG,
My SR is almost identical to yours (since my Bday is a day after yours) but the focus is in different houses. (My SR Moon is at 1deg Cap, conj, Mars, Pluto & Sun - My SR chart is under the thread "Solar stuff"

What ive noticed with my solar returns is the most important planet of the year is the ruler of the ascendant.

I think there will be some deep spiritual study for you in the coming year.......

When I saw that Vertex degree something made me go and load your digits. I got this->
Your natal long / Lat is nearly identical to mine; as my BC is for Anaheim, Orange Co. Living on the East Coast now I have spent considerable time comparing reference place differences. Astro.com advises against changing the reference place for most charts. I ignored that advice for a very long time. : After much study I decided they were right. In your chart the differences are subtle, but it does change that ASC degree to 26. The position and aspects to SR Sun being of primary importance- in 12- I would say that in a natural water house, cadent, conjunct newly Cap Pluto is significant. I used placidus cos you prefer it but that still reads as a Mars 12H in my chart right on the cusp. Sun in 12 is behind the scenes. You might not look for recognition [efforts] nor receive it. Reflection of last years work [monetary, values] as SR Sun was placed in 2H.
  • Conjunct Pluto- Elimination, Transformation. Ego needs are very much on the back burner, sacrifices and selfless compassion to others might seem more of a priority.
  • Moon con. Mars is a bit of a dichotomy. In the natal they are in good condition. In SR I see them as needing integration. Conjunctions can be stressful, only in that if you eschew the needs of one Proactive Mars [critical degree] for Moon [GC] Again integration and balance might provide the epiphany that Galactic Center and Saturn in 8H [debts both incurred and settled] speaks of.
  • Higher octaves featured, or Divine if you will. Venus con. Neptune and Uranus as Divine Mercury. Uranus is the only Water in SR. Aspecting that action packed water house.
Just a short one, like I said really interesting chart, full of potential.
I took the liberty of playing around w/ some 'roids too. In this chart I am keeping the clutter down for you though.

Major Life Themes for my Solar Return Chart:

    Mercury-Venus-Saturn 12th Harmonic  (12=3x4)

You have an aptitude for artistic design and geometry. You also have a knack for understanding what is really on a person's mind, and what is important to them. You have a good foundation in simple and lasting values and you are a responsible, mature person.

    Mercury-Saturn-Neptune 12th Harmonic  (12=3x4)

You enjoy abstract thinking. Abstract principles are common in academic studies, whether it be the concept of a point or a line in mathematics, the Chinese philosophy of 5 elements, various psychological theories of theorists such as Freud, Jung, etc., or any number of other ideas. You are well-suited to academic studies.

    Pluto Conjunct Sun/Moon 0 deg 17 min

Periodically you feel compulsively drawn to research or investigate something, or possibly just to do something that drives you from deep within yourself. While many of your friends and acquaintances seem content to live day to day without going to extremes, you, on the other hand, have periods when you are compulsively driven from within. You have a complex emotional nature that makes it difficult for others to completely understand you, or to even understand yourself.

    Jupiter Conjunct Sun/Venus 0 deg 37 min

You do well in areas that require an appreciation and sensitivity to high quality or elegance. You are good at assessing the value of things. You are friendly, often generous, and sometimes wasteful; be careful to not overindulge in the things you enjoy.

    Mars Conjunct Moon/Pluto 0 deg 52 min

Periodically you feel an urgency to do something, and you become obstinate and inflexible, compulsively pursuing your interest, even though your interest may change soon afterwards. Consequently, others who do not allow you to follow your instincts frustrate you and you can become embroiled in a mutually frustrating relationship. You need to work on ways to communicate clearly in order to resolve potential power struggles with others. Your creative intensity makes it possible for you to accomplish a great deal.

    Venus Conjunct Mercury/Uranus 0 deg 48 min

You have fast reflexes and a talent for playing musical instruments. You are clever and have a good sense of humor. You succeed in areas that require spontaneity and the ability to quickly solve problems or come up with creative ideas.

    Mars Conjunct Sun/Moon 1 deg 15 min

You become bored when you are not challenged. You become irritated if there isn't some lively activity to get involved in. Engaging in competitive sports is good for you. You are very sensitive to feeling dominated or pushed around by others, and you may feel provoked to assert yourself over relatively minor incidents.

    Pluto Conjunct Sun/Mars 1 deg 20 min

When you involve yourself in a project, you can immerse yourself completely and totally in it. You can become obsessed with your work, and work with a sense of mission. Conversely, when placed in a work situation that is not meaningful, you become frustrated, critical, despondent, and angry. It is important for you to latch onto something that is meaningful, and use your great energy to accomplish the work you set out to do.

    Jupiter Conjunct Sun/Neptune 1 deg 04 min

You like to look at the big picture. You are philosophical, and some people think you are too abstract and too distant from the down-to-earth details of daily living. You succeed in areas where your future-oriented, broad views can bring tangible benefits.

    Jupiter Conjunct Venus/Pluto 1 deg 30 min

You dislike pettiness and you like to do things in grand style. You like to give big presents, and you appreciate things that are of very high quality. You have a knack for drawing success to yourself, and others may think of you as being lucky.

    Mercury Conjunct Moon/Venus 1 deg 47 min

You communicate well, and you can succeed in areas that involve personal consultation or negotiation. You are a good listener, and probably you have many friends. You also have talent in the arts and humanities.

    Neptune Conjunct Mercury/Uranus 1 deg 43 min

You have a vivid imagination and a sensitive nervous system. Unusual art and music, and perhaps even mystical subjects appeal to you. Because you are so sensitive, you should avoid drugs, alcohol, stimulants or other influences that make you unbalanced.

    Jupiter Conjunct Mars/Neptune 1 deg 48 min

You become bored quickly by simple chores and mundane tasks. You seek more exotic and far-reaching goals. You succeed in areas that require imagination or a far-reaching vision. If you can devise a clear and practical plan, and focus sufficiently to help ground your grandiose schemes, you can indeed achieve them.

    Sun-Moon-Uranus 39th Harmonic  (39=13x3)

You enjoy the company of people who, like yourself, are creative, humorous, inventive, or even slightly eccentric. You succeed in areas that give you lots of freedom and where you can express your creativity. Avoid getting involved in organizations or groups that are too conservative, stuffy, or unresponsive to new ways of thinking and new ways of doing things.

    Moon-Jupiter-Uranus 126th Harmonic  (7x9x2)

You have a wonderful sense of humor and a spontaneity and enthusiasm that others enjoy and appreciate. You can succeed in any area where these traits are rewarded, such as music, dance, any form of entertainment, or as a group leader or director.

    Mercury-Jupiter-Uranus 63rd Harmonic  (7x9)

You have a creative and inventive mind, and you are very progressive and forward-looking. You work best in an environment that gives you lots of room to explore and be creative. Your ability to visualize new solutions inclines you to be optimistic and successful in your chosen field.

    Mercury-Uranus-Pluto 120th Harmonic  (120=5x3x8)

You are a very creative and intense thinker. You find most other people to be much too slow, shallow, and weak-willed for your bold and daring ideas. You do well in an environment that allows you to invent, research, analyze, and learn at your own pace.

    This is fascinating:

I've been thinking about moving to this place since I've gotten back from Nashville. Part of the hope would be to get into a Federal job. I think this [packed 10th house] adds a sort of fated feel to this possible move.
