... are there any indicators in your natal chart that would describe the type of partner you´re with? This is not about theory, but about real life experience. Those of you who are happily and steadily married or living in stable and satisfying relationships: Do you "see" your partner in your natal chart? Can you "identify" him/her by certain planets, midpoints, constellations, asteroids in your charts? I am asking about "patterns" that have proven to be valid and reliable in your love lifes.

I am asking this because I am wondering whether the single persons amongst us (like me) or the ones who seem to fail with relationships over and over again ... whether they can learn about the potential "partner profile" in their natal chart. IF there is such thing at all. To maybe learn from the married/coupled-up which partner-attributes to look for and all, where the potential "partner-profile" could be written in their natal charts...

Is that question reasonable?

I think one can see very much the native's potential for what type of individual they would meld with the most nicely in the birth chart, merely by looking at energies.

For instance, I have a Pisces sun and a Venus Aries both in the 4th, combined with my Taurus moon in the 6th, I love to make a home for my partner, take care of him, invite him into my comfy, cooshy, sensual space....

However, it has to be someone I am really into. (Not everybody gets to come into my home, very few, actuallly) I am highly, highly Aquarian and this makes me ultra independent and seeking of lots of time alone.

My latest and greatest love compliments my needs very well, a Pisces sun as well, his falling into my 4th so we domesticate together nicely. He is as Arien as I am Aquarian so we both have a fierce independent streak, and the fire-air energies blend nicely with the intrinsic undercurrent of our mutual Pisces suns.

It took me 46 years to figure out my needs for a partner, while it was written in my birthchart all along.

Interesting thread!

Hi! Here's my situation.

Pisces is on my 7th = this describes my first impression when I met him and for a while; I thought he was a sort druggie.

Saturn is in my 7th = They say planets in the 7th describe the marriage experience. It does. After years of marriage is is without a doubt the responsible one in the marriage and sometimes a drag.

Two other things should be mentioned I married a man with sun, moon, mercury, venus and Asc. in leo! The 2 factors of my 7th pointed to this. (pisces on 7th's ruler) leo is on my 12th. And saturn in the 7th is the ruler of my sun and 5th . (thus both again connecting my 7th to leo)

They also say if you lack an element in your chart (which I do -- I have no fire) then you compensate by pairing up with someone with it prominently placed. (Well 5x over a leo is very fire).

Thank you for these first replies! HIPPIECHICK: That's amazing, how well your real love does correlate with your chart now! ;-) GOOD GIRL: I've also read about that "lacking element"-theory, and you obviously are someone with whom this works. KOIFLOWER: Yep - the same with me, haha. That's why I am posting this thread.;-)

Following your examples from above I took another look at my own chart. Fact is: I am at the end of my thirties now, a singleton again - and don't mind it too much, currently. I had two serious and quite long lasting relationships in the past, several short ones and all - generally "no problem" with meeting guys etc. BUT: I got the impression that I tend to fall in love with people that are not very supportive: I guess I understood what makes me "attracted" to these - but I still have no clue how to fall in love with someone that would be really "good" for me. And I was hoping to get an idea whether there could be some "hidden clue" in my chart. ;-)

My DSC is in late Taurus - just as my Juno cj. Ceres are in Taurus (in 5th). So, "sensuality", the good life, some stability and maybe stubbornness from my partner is important for me. In fact, I like guys whom I can share my artistic needs and interests with. I am very much into music for instance, also into literature. And I can hardly imagine to fall for someone who doesn't care about this at all. Taurus is earthy ...

... same as the ruler of my 7th, it's Venus: placed in earthy Virgo - in my 9th house of mind, intellectuality, higher learning, morale, principles, travelling etc. In fact, I feel that "mental/cerebral" character of my Venus very much. I always love with my head as well as with my heart. I crave a free mind, open and honest talks and I love people who widen my horizons - and I guess I can give that to them. Also, my Venus makes a beautiful trine to my Juno and Ceres - I am definitely the type for the long-run!!!

BUT: 9th house, where my Venus resides, is the house of Sagittarius - which relates to my 1st house Moon in Sagittarius. Yes, I also need "open space", much tolerance, a sense of adventure and "entrepreneurialship" and all, and I am the roaming type a bit - also granting my partner much room to move.

I see some dichotomy between the stable, slow moving, security-bound Taurean influence - and the more mentally driven, versatile and maybe fickle Venus/Moon-energy.

My own Sun is in Cancer - in 8th. And that's also where my Mars is located, in wide conjunction to my Sun, so: an 8th-house-Mars in Cancer. (Mars is also ruler of my 5th, cusp in Aties). For me that means that I am attracted to very (!) male types: I am falling for the clever and smart "Macho"-type who seems to have a very sensitive soul underneath his "leather jacket"-facade, haha.

I have analyzed all of this! ;-) With my long term relationships that turned out to be "Taurean" (stable, comfy, healthy and all) ... it always was me who run away after a while, even after nine years, for instance - due to a feeling of being "caged in" and boredom. Somehow I always managed to sabotage these - and was happy and "freed" when they were over.

I was confronted with being cheated on as well, several times - whereas I myself never took "revenge", I never cheated anyone - I'd rather leave a man when I feel some attraction for someone else. Even if there's no potential in that new guy - I must must must be honest, always. (But: I manage to forgive the "cheater" and go on with a relationship, even though there was another woman, shortly - as long as the "substance" of the relationship is real for me.)

I don't know ... I tend to fall for Leos all over again (my 9th house cusp, where Venus in Virgo lies), also my 8th-house Mercury in Leo. Leos have been around me all of my life, my most important relationships have been with these folks. Now I feel ... I'd have to break that pattern - because I've learned all about the Leo-principle that there's to learn, haha. I met excellent, adorable Leos, and a horrible Leo-guy lately, I've seen both sides of the Leo-coin.

What does complicate my love life over and over again are some stressful aspects in my chart - and I don't know how to fight or nivellate these. The obstacles are:

Venus square ASC
Venus square Neptune
Venus cj. my SN/opposing my NN
Juno square Mars
Juno square Mercury

Don't know - allo ver my chart (also with asteroids and Midpoints and so on), there seems to be ingrained a great potential for a fruitful, satisfying "marriage life", even with kids, a lot of potential for a rather "conservative" or "classical" longterm marriage and all ... But in real life ... IT JUST LOOKS DIFFERENT!

P.S.: DSC in Taurus - apart from a short flirt I never had anything with a Taurus so far, haha. My NN in Pisces: Funny thing is, Pisces-guys tend to fall for me quickly and hard! But I never felt any attraction to that row of Pisceans, it is always unrequited love from their side.....

Alvarella, I'm so glad you created this thread!

What you said above:
"I guess I understood what makes me "attracted" to these - but I still have no clue how to fall in love with someone that would be really "good" for me."

That is so on point! I know exactly who I'm attracted to, but they are NEVER good for me! I can't wait to hear the responses!

bump again...!!!

I really like this thread cause it begs personal experience...

Anybody can read a book, get online, etc, but the very best "astrololgers" learn from experience, personally of their own and of others that they have watched...

blessings

Good Girl's answer caught my eye. 5 Leo planets ~ I think I would head for the hills.

My chart is low on Fire and Water.

Early on in life I worked out that it was a bad idea for me to have a close relationship with anyone sensitive and gentle-spirited. In astro-language we are talking the heavily watery types. I wouldn't want to inflict myself on a water person in a domestic setting. Nature seems to agree with me, as my offspring are more Earth/Air types.

I'll be honest, I'm not the easiest to live with. On another thread GemGemGem and I discovered we share a Taurus/Aqua clash. Mine is Venus/Mars. But it gets more complicated than that as Venus is part of a 7th house Taurus Stellium, and Mars is one corner of a Grand Trine with the Sun and Uranus.

Can I see my husband on my chart? Well, he has Earth as his strongest Element, and he is an Aqua with Taurus Moon Trine Uranus. It hasn't all been a picnic in the park though. There is a Grand Cross on our synastry.

GoodGirl, I love Leos, lol, but x5, WOW!!! Must have been fun though ...

I used to always be drawn to air signs (I still am), but they're terrible for me because I'm terribly flighty and stubbourn. I have alot of air in my chart. Now that I'm getting to know myself better, I'm starting to realize how much I appreciate earth/water (paricularly when its a combination of the two!) signs. They balance me out so much better and their qualities start to appeal to me more and more.

Of course, I'm still a sucker for some airy Libra or Aquarius ...

------------------
Sun - Pisces
Moon - Leo
Mercury - Aquarius
Venus - Aquarius
Mars - Taurus
Rising - Cancer

I am still following this little discussion.;-) Thanks for "bumpin' it up" again, Ladies!

As far as that "lacking element" goes ... in my own chart it would be AIR that is the weakest element. But I must say, that I never had anything romantic or loving or erotic with an airy person so far. Some conflicts with Libran-people (Libra-Sun or Libra-Mars), super-supferficial contact to Aqua-people - and not any significant contact to Geminis... (neither sex, no matter what gender, I mean)

I've noticed the nodes will crop up a lot within serious relationships,I'm 35 and settled now and I would say it depends what dominates planet wise in your chart, chiron and beyond for me personally,I've got venus pluto conj,he has venus in 8th,our composite venus in scorpio,we both have hard moon/chiron and moon/saturn aspects,it is definitely easier if you are of the same elements for sun and merc cos it just make life that bit easier, for me it mattered that he knew where I was coming from and that he'd let me be myself,it comes down to what matters to you,
