Hi everybody...I need to get a present for an special someone... Our relationship is in the first stages so I don't know him well yet... I'm good at presents, kind of sense what is right for people... but with this man I need a little bit of help... a clue to point me in the right direction... I remember reading something about how to get the right present by looking at a natal chart but I don't remember... Aspects? Houses? Signs? Planets in specific positions? Help!!! :-) IP: Logged |

Unfortunately, I don't know what time he was born at... So no ascendant or information about houses... I could guess his ascendant but I could be wrong...Venus in Capricorn, Moon in Taurus. A lot of Aquarius in his chart... Even numerologically and his chinese horoscope point to Aquarius... He's a mixture of air and earth... Hi Lala, nice to find you around... It's been a long time... Very busy over the last couple of years... IP: Logged |

Really?? Hmmm... He's Aquarius... Venus is in Capricorn but very close to Aquarius, at 29º 13'... However, even when he's very Aquarius, he loves comfort, rich food, silky textures... very much Venus ruled... Moon in Taurus?? His Moon squares his Sun exactly...I think I need to combine an Aquarius kind of present with something more earthy... The ideal would be something simple and not expensive, just a gesture... something that strikes a cord but doesn't imply a "debt"... I don't want to overdo it... :-) IP: Logged |

Not my suggestions .... Things to do, gifts to buy:
Nothing makes an Aquarius happier than talking about electronics or the internet. They are ruled by Uranus, the planet of the future. He will spend his entire day on the computer, and his only fears are frying his CPU or a power outage. Tell him your VCR needs setting, that your computer fonts are screwed up, or that you haven't configured your new e-mail software yet. Be a damsel in electronic distress. Over fiberoptic cables and phone modems you can find true love. Aquarius Man
Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the planet of the future and governor of electricity. So, it's easy to see how buying just about anything which plugs into the wall would thrill your Aquarius man, the newer and more unusual the better. You could try something basic like a laptop computer and work your way up to an electronic muscle massager. Be lavish and get him direct TV with a digital satellite system. Buy him a pyramid for his desk for greater success. I found one at Sharper Image which emits affirmations--customizable by the recipient of your gift--which will emit them audibly at 20 decibels below ambient noise levels, 180 times an hour. Now that is an Aquarius gift! Your Aquarian might also like multi-media authoring software, speakers for his CD-ROM, or some new interactive games. Buy him a telescope to view the stars. Or, if he likes TV, surprise him with a boxed set of X-Files episodes. Have his horoscope chart cast by an astrologer. If you buy him a book, make it either sci-fi or one which predicts social trends of the new millennium. A membership pass to the science museum or planetarium could be a perfect gift. Take him to an IMAX show in your city, one that offers the full 3-D effects with glasses. Buy him a Dilbert Page-a-Day Calendar or a Looney Tunes Marvin the Martian mousepad!

A book. My chart is heavily Air/Earth and I have Aqua Mars in the 3rd. Nothing I like better than being given a book. IP: Logged |

Thanks guys!!!I need to think about it... He loves gadgets, especially that can play music (he's a fanatic of music) but I don't want to overdo it... Electricity... Waves... Music... Hmmm... I like the idea of a book... Ideas... He's an idealist... He loves books... He reads a lot... He knows about almost everything I can imagine... I'd probably get something he has already read or read about... And as he knows about EVERY subject, I don't know what really fascinates him... He even reads japanese clasics!!! I have a lot of apparent unconnected pieces of information... Other things he loves... Arts, literature, the ocean, the sixties - indie, pop, mod... More... recycling, travelling, archeology, history, japanese food, chocolate, everything classic - music, cinema, books... And many other things I'm sure I don't know... I'm going to go mad... What is the connecting thread???

Hmm...electricity...waves...music.Steelrose, what about one of those really cool alarm clocks that wakes you up gradually? They make different noises to put you to sleep, like ocean waves, different music, nature sounds, etc...like a spa sound/relaxation thing. Don't know if he's be into that kind of stuff, but it would match the comfort stuff of his Taurus moon and the tech-y side of the Aquarius. Plus it's personal without being blatantly intimate, I would think. Something like this maybe ? : http://www.amazon.com/HoMedics-SS-2000-Relax ation-Machine-Nature/dp/B000F3QG0U/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1229298317&sr=8-3 or http://www.amazon.com/HoMedics-Soun dSpa-Classic-SS-4500-projector/dp/B000ZN4KW6/ref=pd_bbs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1229298317&sr=8-4 or http://www.amazon.com/Projection-Digital -Soothing-Nature-Sounds/dp/B001LW1UZK/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1229298317&sr=8-12 Also, check out Brookstone for all kinds of neat gadgets that make things comfy... Ok, my own 2nd house is in Gemini, so this kind of stuff is pretty neat for me
Is he a wine drinker by chance? Into wines? I could show you a dozen cool links if he is. IP: Logged |

Gadgets & music fan? head-fi.org comes to mind. Doesn't have to be expensive too, check out something like this tiny portable amp: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f38/fiio-amp-9-99-free-shipping-head-direct-375241/ ------------------ Cancer Sun & Asc / Libra Moon IP: Logged |

Thanks guys!!! Your ideas are great!!! They help me to explore options...I like the alarm clock idea... It's cool!!! I may even get one for myself... The thing is he is a civilisation victim (not much of a nature lover... ) Maybe the ocean sound would work... The thing is he's an insomniac!!! He naturally wakes up after 4 hours totally rested... so I'm not sure that he never uses an alarm clock... And... I wanted something small that he can take in a plane with no fuss... His birthday is on a Saturday and he usually goes home to the islands... I may ask him to wait and open it there so he'll have to carry it and I stand a better chance if it's small... No idea if he is into wine... I'll check on Brookstone... Thanks!!! The Fiio amp is perfect!!! Small, cheap, even cute!! And as I said he is a fanatic of music... Indie and pop, classical but also electronic... He even mixes music for fun, as a DJ... It's so perfect that he may already have it!!! That or something bigger / better... How would you use this thing??? I'm a complete blank for music and gadgets... IP: Logged |

Lol Gadget lovers always have their mp3 players either internally modified or connect with external amplifiers like this fiio in order to improve sound quality. Of course their best rig should be with $2-300 amp but cute ones like fiio always have a place, maybe for gym uses.IP: Logged |

I heard there is a gadget that you use to project with your ipod, so you can watch your ipod movies and videos on a larger scale. I saw it on tv and can't find it since. It is supposed to be around 50 bucks. If anyone knows what this is called please let me know, also, it is a great gadget gift as you can project it on a wall up to large screen size.IP: Logged |

Sorry I didn't arrive in this thread earlier. I have something perfect: www.x-mini.com Tiny, yo-yo-sized speaker that's supposed to be super impressive. Google it. http://www.gadgenista.com/2008/01/31/gadgenista-review-x-mini-capsule-speaker/ He'll love it. (I found out about it through GQ). And it's only like $30, so it won't seem obtrusively expensive. I imagine he'll want to give demonstrations for everyone he knows. IP: Logged |

Sunshine, thanks for your two pence... It's a great idea... I'll write it down on the back of my head... but maybe a bit too much for what I intend... I'm after a meaningful detail that shows that I know him even when I don't... that I sense him if you know what I mean...Acoustic!!! I absolute love the mini speakers!!! They are sooooooooooooooo cool... Posible candidate... hmmmm... IP: Logged |
