Yeah, Rudhyar is great.I enjoyed "Astrology" by Ronald Davison (inventor of the Davison Chart), I'd like to read his other works. Michel Gauquelin's "The Scientific Basis of Astrology" is definitely worth reading. It rejects much of popular astrology, and lays a foundation for "a new astro-biology" based on his very extensive statistical work. Martin Seymour-Smith's "The New Astrologer" is worth checking out. Grant Lewi's "Astrology for the Millions" is a great book on the basics. Noel Tyl seems to get bashed on this website a lot, but I thought "The Horoscope As Identity" was very good. I've read really good things about Charles Carter and A.G.S. Norris, I have some of their books but haven't touched them yet. I've also read praise for Geoffrey Dean and Alexander Ruperti but I haven't been able to find their books around Philly. IP: Logged |

I haven't seen this. I started my Astrology studies with Grant Lewi's and Noel Tyl's books (mainly his 12-volume series "The Principles and Practice of Astrolgy").....IP: Logged |

Zala-I've read several complaints here about either Tyl's books or his pay-per-person chart delineations. Maybe I'm selecting to read the wrong threads or maybe people are more likely to speak out when they disapprove, but only once have I seen his name mentioned with praise, which I consider a shame because when reading "The Horoscope As Identity", I was quite impressed with Tyl's thoughts. James Braha's "How To Be A Great Astrologer" is an excellent book for aspect interpretations.IP: Logged |

Perhaps one day you'll run across some older strings from user "chrissymgreen" -- her specialty is/was Solar Arcs and if I remember right she studied a lot of Tyl's theories..... for instance: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/008656.html I have a book called "The Quindecile: The Astrology and Psychology of Obsession" by Tyl's student Ricki Reeves. Tyl was the one who named that aspect..... his contributions to the art and science of Astrology have been immense, and perhaps his contributions to culinary arts too IP: Logged |

No quick progress will be made from intermediate to Advanced Level without this book: "The Astrology of Inner Space" by Carl Payne Tobey.
