I've been reading Nance McCullough's Solar Returns and did a few of my SR charts for the following years. Shouldn't have. My 2013 SR chart scares me. McCullough writes that many deaths occur with SR Asc conjunct natal Asc, and my chart will have this exact aspect (I mean really exact, as much as you can imagine). Plus it has Mars (ruler of natal and SR 8th) in the first house, and SR Pluto conjunct natal Mars. It scares me big time.

McCullough also writes that this Asc conjunction can show the fulfilling of a birth promise and speculates whether only those without a birth promise die. I'm not sure what my birth promise is, but I'm an aspiring writer; Mercury is the ruler of my Virgo asc and Gemini MC, and it's conjunct with Uranus in my natal 3rd. An astrologer once told me this is good for writing. Mercury in this 2013 SR will conjunct my natal Mercury/Uranus combo, maybe showing that I can fulfill this birth promise and become a writer, also, it is helped by Jupiter in the 10th (retrograde, though).

I've been thinking on spending my birthday in a different country, but I don't know much about relocation charts, some say they work, some say they don't work if one moves away only for a few days' holiday... also, what if the SR chart shows not death but a career in writing, and by relocating I would mess it up for good?

Hi

I never heard about this theory... i only heard that when solar Asc conjunct the natal Asc it indicates a very important and decisive year. But im sure it doenst have to be associated with death. Especially, as nothing will fall in your 8th house.

And also, 8th house or Pluto or Mars is really not only about physical death.

I used to have this bad habit to look up my solar return charts or transits for x years in advance...and beleive me, its the biggest stupidity one can do. (no intention to offend, i expereienced it)

You can never know what will happen in the future, astrology is only a guideline, but if you keep worrying about the future, then you will not only attract sth bad, but also you will miss many things in the present.
Dont do that.
It really sucks.

With that stellium in the 3rd house, yes, it could be a prominent year for you career wise.

So just try to forget about this chart and concentrate on the present. Its much better

Let your optimistic Sag sun shine over your worrying Virgo ASc

I have Virgo Ascendant. I had a past solar return that had Virgo Ascendant conjunct my Virgo Ascendant, and well.....I am still alive.

My current solar return Ascendant is in Virgo too,but not in a close conjunction to the Ascendant.

any ways....you're better off taking one Solar Return at a time. Just focus on the present and try not to look far into the future. I get that way sometimes, and well..it can lead to unnecessary worrying.

I know from personal experience.

Thanks so much! I know it's stupid to look them up in advance, but I'm a curious Sag...

now I'm hoping it will mean a good thing careerwise... a published novel is my biggest dream

Everyone (or most people) at around 29 years old has their solar return asc. conjunct natal asc, so I guess according to this theory no one would live longer than 29. Don't worry, obviously this isn't true.

MYSTIC STARLIGHT - I don't think that it's stupid to look at the SRs in advance. I can understand pretty well, since I am of the curious Sagittarian nature as well (Sag-Moon in 1st house, Sun in Cancer - so the Moon is my ruling planet). Also, my Scorpio-influenced chart (Scorp-ASC, 8th-house-Stellium and Pluto ruler of my chart), I can understand the need to "dig deep" very well.

To soothe your nerves a bit: I just looked up my own SRs (I've gone through 38 of these until now...) And according to that ASC-cj-ASC-theory I should have died three times already. SR-ASC was cj. my natal ASC when I was age 4, age 8 and age 33 ... And here I am! ;-)

By browsing to my past SRs I came to another insight, though: There was only one year, when the SR-ASC was exactly (!) conjunct my natal Sun - and THAT was in fact by no doubt the most decisive year for me so far! Soooo many things had changed in this special year (in my early thirties). It was a major, major breakthrough for me - first only in my profession - but then loads of consequences from that, on my personal life as well. It was kind of ... an "emancipation"-year for me, made me who I am today. Full of surprises, that specific year. It made me someone else.

I only heard that Solar DC conjunct natal AC makes it a difficult year. Even difficulty has various ranges and can be in different areas. Hardship can bring lessons and growth.

Don't worry too much...You don't even have active SR 8th house for that year.

P/s: the lady who opened a similar thread and you both have Virgo influence tsk tsk. If you are REALLY worried, you should call up a professional astrologer.

I mean, if it really does scare you, you could go on vacation for your birthday. Just make sure you pick a good place!

This past year, I had my SR AC conjunct my natal and I had a very momentous and good year. I'm also still alive.

You'll be fine. This astrolger shouldn't say such things! It scares people.

They say that the year your SR AC conjuncts your natal is an important one. For me, this was true.

All in all, your SR looks good. A lot of nice aspects.

Lady Neptune, was this particular year of importance painful, or pleasant? I'm trying to gauge the emotional pain involved LOL

Compared to other years, it was suprisingly pleasant.

But, it depends a lot on the aspects in the solar and natal.

This year (2008) I`ve had the solar ASC conjunct my natal ASC (1°57) AND a Sun-Mercury-Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in 1st house.

But I`m still alive.
Yet it was a very meaningful and significant year for me, especially regarding my personal development.

Hi Mystic,

Not only had you made Solar for the next years. I did it too.
It is strange, because we never know where we will be or will be at all.

For the year 2009/10 I have done my SR: 9 planets are bellowing Horizon. I had never ever one Solar like that. All the time were planets half/half or more right side, because I am open person and in Natal Chart have 7 planets over Horizon, what also means I am not some kind of house wife.
Also for: 2010 and 2011 SR Charts are very strange.

Buena

Buena, if they're below the horizons, it might be possible that you'll be a bit more introverted, or focused on something.
It changes in reflection of whatever reality we are dealing with or whatever our emotional needs might be for that year.
I don't view all the houses below the horizon as introspective, btw. 5th house certainly isn't, and neither is the first.

Hi MVM,

Thank you for explanation of SR.

I really don't like SR for the next years.
Who knows what will happen and will I be there or here for those SR?

Some Astrologers write that 2012 will be something like big disaster.

Planets bellowing Horizon means to me as I will be in some bunker or catacombs.

Thank you all

Alvarella, I too had a solar asc conjunct natal sun, and although that year was not really decisive, some things that started in that year led to some very important changes in my life (also in my way of thinking). The most important change was that I went to university (and Sun was the ruler of 9th in that chart!)

Buena, don't worry, if your SR meant that you'll be in prison, 12th house would be significant in your chart, and 12th is not below the horizon. My birth chart doesn't have a single major planet above horizon, and it just means I'm shy and introverted.
