So do you guys do astrology for yourselves or for others?
Are there professional astrologers here?I usually do it for my sister or myself. You know if I meet an interesting person I always want to figure them out.

I do too, although I believe there's always free will. I've used it to understand why I feel a certain way, or why certain people are a certain way.IP: Logged |

In the beginning I used astrology for myself; to know why I was the way I was. But afterwards I began to apply astrology to people around me. I was very interested in Karmic Astrology; particularly with my parents and brother. I also wanted to know why other people affected me (or didn't affect me), the way they do and how I could affect others. I could research this with house placement; where certain planets fell in other people's houses. This idea was courtesy of the Cafe Astrology website lol! IP: Logged |

How do I use it?Mostly out of boredom, I suppose; when there's nothing else on my mind, astrology creeps in  Nah, I don't know how I use it most; I usually use it in a combination with behavioural psychology to see how much of it links and what doesn't (I wouldn't recommend psychopathology with natal astrology as it is the study of mental diseases and a disease comes and goes; a chart stays) I often use it as an excuse for my shortcomings, too. Like not being able to pay attention (look at all the Sagittarius in my chart!) being naive and too playful (again, Sagittarius!) etc.
Mostly for behavioral psychology, though

I do it for myself, friends and sometimes for family (read mum & grandmother, the others at sceptic ). for the moment I'm lost, can't decide which house-system I should use...  IP: Logged |

Good point ForestWhisper.A friend of mine constructed my chart using Equal House system.
However on Astrodienst, the house system is set to Placidus by (Web) default. On Facebook, apparently Placidus was mentioned as being more suited for transits. I haven't looked into this in detail. If you use Placidus the houses can be skewed. For example I have Capricorn rising but my Placidus 1st House also includes all of Aquarius. (By the way, can anyone out there interpret this for me?)
