Applications for this MD will start in November.
I'm really considering it but I'm also afraid I won't be sucessful and that I may fail the dissertation and won't be awarded the degree.Should I take it or not?

What do the cards say?

Hana, I think it is not so much a matter of celestial influences... If you like the program and want to learn the material it covers, enroll in it and do your best. I know many people with the same fears in the beginning of grad school and they all have their degrees now.

Best of luck!

Hi
Thanks for your reply.
The reason I asked for help had to do with the fact that I'm not feeling in the best of shape, emotionally speaking. Therefore I'm afraid I might quit in the middle of the programme if I don't feel strong enough and that would be even worse for me, not to mention my bank account.
Still, I'd be very pleased to hear what the cards have to say. Should I or should I not enroll?
Thank you.

Hi Hana-Bi,

I'm not a regular tarot card reader, I'm actually a professional astrologer but I have created my own cards that speak to me personally based on...rock stars. I've seen cards like it before but created my own with their own meaning. I pulled 6 cards for your situation and I'll explain them. You can tell me if they mean anything to you or if it was just entertaining.

I'd also like to say to other Tarot Card readers to feel free to still give Hana-Bi a real tarot card reading after this.

The 1st card is: The situation at hand
The 2nd card: What is in the past affecting the situation at hand
The 3rd card: What needs to be thought about in terms of the situation at hand
The 4th card: The outcome or the answer.

OK, after shuffling the deck this is how the cards came up:

1. Aretha Franklin - mini-hot dogs; fear of flying; Fear of Success; Queen of Soul.
2. Sonny & Cher - Divorce, but remaining friends.
3. Marvin Gaye - Depression, Sadness, Concern for the environment
4. Woodstock - Heaven, Peace, Paradise.

I also choose a front and back card which are the guides of the reading.

Front: Jimmy Hendrix - unable to understand, no comprende, surgical strike

Back: Yoko Ono - Odd Queen, successful covert manipulation, spiritual action, hair.

My thought is that the Aretha Franklin card really spelled out your fear of the situation, spelling it out as being fear of success. I urge you to remember that depression in the 2nd half of life becomes wisdom.

At this point I can only guess why the divorce card came up. Perhaps you were divorced in the past or you were cut off from reaching an important dream. It's important to remember that the Sonny & Cher card is divorce, but it is still a successful relationship because it merely changed form. Sonny and Cher remained great friends hanging out with each other along with their spouses. They stayed great friends.

I suppose the Marvin Gaye card is really doing it's job since you are really trying to get clear on whether you can handle trying to go for this MD. It's great for you to have full awareness of the situation, but remember that no situation will be absolutely perfect or care free. I suspect you will become depressed again at some point in your life, but if you can spend between now and November to put some kind of support system in place for yourself should you fall into depression, that will be of great help to you. Support groups, counseling, etc.

The 4th card, the answer or the outcome is "Woodstock" the 3 day concert that took place 40 years ago. I've given this card the meaning of Heaven and Peace because that's what it represented to so many rock fans. It also represents paradise. The card came out upside down and usually I don't acknowledge that but I feel pushed to do so now. Peace and Paradise are not always what they are cracked up to be. Woodstock was muddy, they kept running out of food, it wasn't supposed to be free but it became that way. Some musicians were electrocuted on the stage (The Greatful Dead) but it was still heavenly for most. To me it's saying that you will achieve you ideal, your goal, but remember that there will be muddy days and rocks in the soil. Rocks are necessary for people to grow and for plants to grow. So I'm thinking that the answer is yes with awareness of imperfection.

The guide cards.

Jimmy Hendrix is the surgical strike according to Paul McCartney in an interview he did in The Beatle Anthology. He spoke of how Jimmy felt like destiny to him. "He came in like a surgical strike, made a tremendously strong impact for a short period of time and then he left." My thought is that the Jimmy Hendrix card is making a medical statement about surgery, whether that would be your focus or not, it still speaks to a medical procedure of the highest skills.

The back card

Yoko Ono - many people underestimate her abilities because they just wanted to project their anger onto her for the Beatles' break up. Yoko was 8 years older than John when she met him, already an established artist with amazing business skills. Her father was the first Japanese banker to get a strong hold in the United States. Yoko was also known to have solicited tarot card readers, astrologer, and esoteric healers as well, but I feel that the sentence "successful covert manipulation" in your case means healing in ways that the ordinary person won't see, just like surgery or medication. And spiritual action, to me, means don't forget to connect to your higher power, whatever or whoever that is.

My highest thought is for you to go for it. That Woodstock card is a big deal, especially showing up this week which is the 40th Anniversary of the concert.

Don't be afraid, you can be the Queen of Soul. Two queens showed up in your reading, I think you're destined to be one.

Please let me know if this made any sense, I'm still testing it out on people I don't know. Thanks.

"Please let me know if this made any sense, I'm still testing it out on people I don't know. Thanks."

It's me who has to thank you for having deserved your time and effort to help me in my decision. Thank you GCV.

1. The situation at hand
I'm getting medical treatment for depression, but I'm feeling much better. Sunlight is good for these situations but Winter will be there soon. Probably I'll need to resume medication by then, but I sincerely hope I can go over it.

2. The past affects the present situation
My father passed away recently, my mother's middle name is "trouble", my marriage is going down the sink.

3. What needs to be thought about
Ok: to continue or resume medical support for depression

4. The outcome/reversed
I liked the way you put it: yes with awareness of imperfection.

The guide cards
Front
Believe it or not I'm waiting to be called for a surgery procedure next year. Also if I'd be awarded the degree that would be a major impact on my professional career.

Back/reversed
"it means healing in ways that the ordinary person won't see": You've got a point there!

Thank you so much
Hana-Bi

Hi Hana-Bi,

Wow, it makes me giggle everytime these rock & roll tarot cards work for real and they definitely do. I wish you well with the surgery and with the depression treatment. Keep the faith as best you can, depression can definitely be managed well. Do your best to keep your support system strong and it/they can help get you through anything. Also, we need as many good doctors as we can get, so get it done.

OK, just to repeat what everything means.

The 1st card is: The situation at hand
The 2nd card: What is in the past affecting the situation at hand
The 3rd card: What needs to be thought about in terms of the situation at hand
The 4th card: The outcome or the answer.

I also choose a front and back card as the guides of the reading.

As I started shuffling the cards, one card jumped out so I kept it aside, not knowing if it should be the 1st card or just a strong point of focus card. I decided to make it a strong point of focus card and that is:

Janet Jackson - detached, hair issues, making one's own way.

How appropriate, huh?

OK, the other cards are as follows:

1.) Luther Vandross - weight issues; ups and downs with health; fighting for continued success; a lifestyle change is needed.

2.) Marvin Gaye - depression, sadness; concern for the environment.

3.) Brian Wilson - the idiot savant; aggravated good luck; a dark cloud with a golden lining.

4.) Little Richard - Not receiving the credit that's due to you; no respect; SHUT UP!!

Front: The Beatles - the ceiling , the top, the ultimate untouchable success

Back: Live Aid - Joy of helping and giving; Humanitarian, internationalism.

OK, I'm putting my thinking cap on and I've got strong thoughts about Janet Jackson and what the card represents in terms of your career, the statement of "making one's own way" in reference to her THIRD album "Control". Many people think it was her first, but it wasn't. I'm also thinking about what she has been through within the last 2 months. The death of her iconic brother who was the bread winner of the entire Jackson family (other than Janet). If everyone is wondering why the Jackson's are considering doing a reality show it's because Michael was the main bread winner of the Jackson clan.

Depending on how successfully Janet snaps back from the massive event use it to her advantage (sounds bad, but it's reality) she would then become the main bread winner. It's the last thing she wants. Anyway, think about Janet and control and making your own way.

Luther Vandross is the situation at hand. I'm not focusing on weight and health, unless that is a real situation for you. I'm keeping it career oriented; fighting for continued success and a lifestyle situation is needed.

Marvin Gaye is the depression card and perhaps that's in your past around your career. The conern for the environment seems to be matched up with the lifestyle change in the 1st card.

Brian Wilson was known as one of the most eccentric rock stars of his generation because he turned his living room into an Arabian style tent, he had wild parties and he put his grand piano in a sandbox in his living room. What people didn't know about Brian Wilson is that he had drug induced paranoid schitzophrenia and that's why he took to his bed for almost 2 years without leaving his house. He and the Beach Boys were the main friendly competition for the Beatles during the 60's and he was incredibly lucky, although tremendously pressured and was known until very recently as the man who contained one unfinished teenage symphony to God. It was the "Smile" album. He had a nervous breakdown before he finished it. It went unfinished for over 30 years and it was finally completed in the early 2000's. He's known as one of the greatest rock composers and many people of his era find it hard to believe that he has survived everyone in his family, including his 2 brothers. The dark cloud with the golden lining.

Little Richard - a true rock and roll pioneer who waited so long to receive the credit that was due to him. He was given much credit by Elvis Presley, the Beatles and every other rock and roll icon after him, but he was not given a Grammy or American Music Award until years after his hey day. A Grammy for Lifetime Achievement in 1993 and an American Music Award of merit in 1997. When he went up to receive his Grammy, just as he began his speech, they cut away to a commercial. NO RESPECT! And one of his favorite iconic phrases is "shut up!" The thing to remember about Little Richard is his amazing piano skills, great voice and that he eventually received the credit that was due to him.

I don't know if that gave you an answer or an outcome, but it seemed kind of career oriented to me.

The Front Card - The Beatles! To me, I'm just happy any time this card shows up in one of my readings. It's shares the tippy top of the spotlight in my deck, right next to Stevie Wonder, without all that pesky blindness. This card is telling you that strong success is within your reach, don't give up before the miracle.

The Back Card - Live Aid, you truly enjoy helping others and you can do this on a grand scale. Although Woodstock was the king of concerts, Live Aid not only entertained but it made a difference in the world.

OK, did any of this make sense? Please give detailed feedback if you can. I may start a thread of Rock and Roll readings if this works out.

First thing that popped into my head was Rodney Dangerfield when you wrote "No respect". lol
It seemed to ring true...I didnt like that the future card seemed to be saying I'd do well but It would take me a long time to really be noticed for what I do...or I would be put down a lot?(Am I reading that correctly?) I asked my friend about it and he said, who needs respect if youre making money? LOL.
What is the front and back mean? Beatles and Live Aid? I think I like the beatles one a lot, the Back, is nice because I really think that sums me up very well..Love to help people.
"aggravated good luck"...LOL...yeah sounds familiar.
I felt the card reading read me well and appreciate your time doing this for me.

"First thing that popped into my head was Rodney Dangerfield when you wrote 'No respect'. lol" That's the feeling I wanted it to have because Little Richard always treated it in a sort of comical way when he was in front of the cameras, but I'm sure he really let his anger show when he wasn't being filmed. I say go with the feeling of the Rodney Dangerfield thing. Also, my feeling was that the last card could be how you were feeling about the situation or possibly not feeling respected and that's part of your feeling toward your career, but I don't really know because I don't know the details of what's going on with you without you saying so, but it can be whatever you interpret it to be. What fits the reality for you?

I asked my friend about it and he said, who needs respect if youre making money? LOL. I guess that's one way of looking at it, but then again if you're one of those people who really doesn't care about money so much as being recognized, then it would matter to you.

[b]"What is the front and back mean?"
I'm not quite sure because I don't really read Tarot, but my best friend is a tarot reader and teacher and she told me to just consider them to be like "the guides" of the reading, so I just think those 2 cards give a general surrounding energy of the reading.

"Beatles and Live Aid?" I might say that they suggest a strong success with helping people or that's the energy around the reading.

You're very welcome, thanks for the opportunity. This feels a little harder than astrology, I guess it's because I haven't done it that often but I think I'm going to practice here.
