In the meantime, call a friend whose company you enjoy, and have a laugh.
Get something nice/sweet/soft to eat.
Hug your cat/dog.
Breathe in and out.
Put on some music you like.
Dance to some music you enjoy.
Get up, switch off the TV, stretch, go for a quick walk around the building, get some fresh air.
Watch a chick flick.
It is and it is going to be alright!

I usually draw one card for each position, 3 in total with one shadow card, if i consider it. BUt for you both cards appearing were Kings, and them too of opposite natures. I had to draw clarifiers

I would say that one of you, and I suspect it you, is having unrealistic expectations from the relationships. I suspect he thinks your expectations are too much to be real. If you base the relationship on security, reality, and stability, i don't see why it can not work.
he is being hard on you because he wants the above from you. you might feel like he is hurting you, but what i see is that he is just doing that to protect you and the relationship. The Kings are showing me two different aspects of the relationship, or a guy from past is involved here. sometimes when many court cards appear they mean the outcome is dependant on other people's wishes, which in this case are two men.
The outcome however looks nice, you two will finally find a fresh start for both of you, and there will be happiness and bliss for you when this happens.
