Never mind!
Until you go out and buy one (no pressure lol),
I wonder how we can help you develop your skill.
Why do I have a feeling that you know what I'm talking about?! Have you ever given a reading?

I've done astro charts on here, despite being low-intermediate with my astro-knowledge, and I think I end up relying on intuition to come to conclusions with those. I've played around with sites on the interwebz that do free online readings, but I've never done a card reading for anyone else.

What kind of deck would you suggest for a beginner such as myself?

Go straight for the classic Rider-Waite deck.
Once you can read that, the rest are easy.
Stay with it until you feel it like it's yours.
I know you're very intuitive, I have no doubts about it, and once you familiarize yourself with the energy of the cards, you will be able to get the right cards that will tell you things about your querent. Many people think that tarot readings are a matter of encyclopedic lookup of the card interpretation! That's only part of the story. The other part is the reader's intuition. That's why you use the cards; they are your tools for developing your intuition.
Some times I get a spontaneous feeling about the question and the cards then just confirm it.

*adds deck of Tarot cards to Xmas list*

I've looked into buying cards in the past and the ones I've found are technically classified under "board games, etc." Will it matter if I get one of those decks? Or are there better ones to look for?

*Virgo moon digging for specifics*

Let your feeling guide you.
Where are your SN and NN?
I have SN in Virgo (conj Pluto) and NN in Pisces. Sometimes I must shut off my logical mind and let the intuitive mind take over.
I wouldn't say 'no' to ANY deck that attracts you. The attraction energy is a major factor for buying a deck that feels like yours. So, the more you like it, the best you will be at it! It doesn't matter if it's board games or whatever; there are a million types of decks and they all include the same basics and work in the same principles. So if you prefer something off-the-beaten-track and you REALLY REALLY like it, by all means get it! And start practicing right here on this board!

Cool beans!

My NN is in Taurus, exactly conjunct Venus in the 5th. SN in Scorpio/11th loosely conjunct Saturn.

SN in Scorpio is very intuitive.
Where's your N Pluto?
(I know I've looked at your chart before but can you believe I can't remember a thing?! So many charts and after a while you get to forget even your very own! LOL!)

Haha, it's okay. Pluto is at 2' Scorpio in the 10th.

I think I've got a strong Neptune. And a strong Pluto. And a strong Venus. And a strong Uranus. I feel pulled in all sorts of directions.

Pluto is Scorpio is a bomb!
And it sextiles your Neptune, that is why your Nept feels strong!
And your oppositions have this effects of being pull in all sorts of directions.

Which sites do you go to for online readings?
Have you tried ifate? Great for runes!

Oooh, I've not tried ifate. I usually just google "free online tarot" and sort through what comes up. I'll have to play around with this. Thanks!
