Depends on the degree of the illness.
For extreme personality disorders, yes, I would expect them to show in the natal chart one way or another.
But if it's a debatable issue (whether the person is ill or not) I wouldn't go to the astro chart looking for a diagnosis. IP: Logged |

BPD is complex in my opinion,and yes difficult to diagnose....
I believe abuse is definitely a factor in triggering the human response...
how is this recognized in the natal chart?

Well, I am not sure exactly which aspects would relate to abuse in the chart, as I am not experienced enough in astrology.
I have seen members on here though point out aspects they believe to confirm abuse, although personally, I am wary of this. I just do not think astrology is capable of identifying this. But that may, in part, be due to my astrological inexperience. It may be worth starting a thread or searching for older ones that cover abuse in the chart. I have seen people point out interactions with the asteroid Nessus, and afflictions to the Sun (father - apparently).
But it must be a minefield, and as always the whole chart would have to be considered, and perhaps even transits at the time of the abuse, and even synastry with the abuser(s), to confirm for sure. It doesn't sit well with me though to look for this, but that is just personal feeling.
And only due to the fact that it can be so indefinite and misleading. People will say that astrology in the hands of an expert can find anything in the chart - I have yet to read one of these experts myself, if they exist.
Even systems considered "science" admit margins of error, and state that nothing is ever 100%. So, I don't adhere to this, although I would, of course, be interested in any research into it, as I would be into anything currently "unknown". Thank you for your kind words, by the way  IP: Logged |

Yes I think mental illness can be indicated, strongly in the chart.I think everything can be shown by the charts, down to the last and smallest detail. Having said that, I think God is stronger than anything in the charts and one can have a miracle where one transcends any and all chart placements. Gods Ways override the charts, in my humble opinion.So, no one is stuck with anything, ever.------------------

I have become fascinated with this topic of BPD in the chart and would love to explore it. All issues can be seen in the charts if one is good enough to see them lol------------------

My larger question is "What did we bring in to life our "destiny", which was NOT from our earthly past?The chart happened the moment we took our first breath, so our environment did not influence the chart. It stands on it's own.

Sure, Saya. That would be great! My working theory is that Deja is conj the moon. The Child asteroid is impaired and nessus is there, somewhere, as a factor. So, if you could put the asteroids on, that would be great! Trust is severly broken in BPD. This would show in the chart.------------------

I can't post her chart but,I can tell you she has many aspects with Sedna including square Nessus and conjunct chaosChild square Pluto Nessus square chaos
square mercury
square amor I don't know if by Deja you meant Dejan or Dejaiffe so I looked @ both because I didn't see a deja Dejan conjunct pluto
sext neptune Dejaiffe nothing significant.
She also has many aspects with Chaos...dunno if its applicable but,thought i'd mention it.
Her moon has no negative aspects.
