I hope to finally graduate from college this June. I find that my college years are one of the worst years of my life. Lectures are boring me, so I decided to switch to online classes. I like taking multiple choice and short answer tests, but essays are a struggle for me. I can read and process information very quickly. However, the speed where I can get the thoughts out is much slower than what I can take in. I have been reading about Aspergers' lately and I'm wondering if something in my chart resonates with this idea.

Aspects in my natal chart that led me to this idea include:

Mercury square Uranus
Mercury square Neptune
Mercury sextile Saturn
Mercury quintile Uranus

Also, I have been working at a computer tech support job for almost a year, and I love it. As a matter of fact, it's my favorite job after several duds. I find that I do well with anything involving computers and other technical stuff. Aside from re-learning HTML after I graduate, I also would like to have some training in locksmithing. So, anything involving technical aptitude that you can see in my chart will be extremely helpful.

I have Asperger's myself; I have a written diagnosis--an official one given to me from a psychologist trained in this area.

The only way to know for sure is to go to a qualified diagnostician and take their tests.

Two people can have the same chart, but have it manifest differently, so even if a person has indicators that might seem more "Aspie", not everyone with the same chart will have Asperger's.

I have ZERO Leo in my chart, so I don't think that Leo is it. I don't have any fifth house planets, either.

Four confirmed and medically diagnosed cases of Aspergers in my family.

Myself a Capricorn. My two sons, an Aquarius and a Pisces. My brother, a Libra. My brother-in-law also has Aspergers but I don't know his sun sign.

I'm not sure Aspergers is sign specific.

What I do know is, contrary to public perception, Aspergers lays a path to success and should not be viewed negatively. Consider the long list in the Aspergers hall of fame.

I'm not in the IT world, but I build all my computers at home, and we have one in every room. Our family of four has a tablet and a notebook each, multiple devices, and I personally maintain three PCs for myself (I like water cooling). My six year old assembled his own machine (simple integrated motherboard) and installed Windows 7 himself. That's Aspergers at work.

I personally have:
Mercury Conjunction Mars
Mercury Sextile Neptune
Mercury Trine Pluto

I just read a little of what you wrote, but some of my recent experiences have opened me to people with that condition and so, perhaps, I may offer something of value to you. I will look at your chart, later.

Without the gift (it's not an affliction!), we wouldn't have:

Bill Gates, Jane Austen, Issac Newton, Albert Einstein, Hans Christan Andersen, Henry Cavendish, Charles Darwin, Thomas Jefferson, Wolfgang Mozart, George Orwell, Dan Akroyd, Ludwig Beethoven, Bela Bartok, Bobby Fischer, Michelangelo, Alexander Graham Bell, Emily Dickenson, Thomas Edison, Benjamin Frankllin, Carl Jung, Gustav Mahler, Marilyn Monroe, Bertrand Russell, Richard Strauss, Henry Thoreau, Mark Twain, Vincent Van Gogh, George Washington, Virginia Woolf, Issac Asimov, John Denver, Alfred Hitchcock, Glenn Gould, Charles Schulz, Andy Warhol, Bob Dylan, Al Gore, John Nash, James Taylor, Robin Williams....

The list goes on and on and on.

It's not sickness. It may be a mental condition, but Aspergers is a Gift from God. Treasure it.

I view my Aspie quirks as unique and positive. It's the traditional educational system that stresses me out. I was able to fly through from elementary school to high school with no problem since the teacher always repeated what was in the textbooks. With college, I love critically thinking and evaluating on theories and principles. Yet, writing them out in essays is a nightmare. Like I said, I can process information very quickly. Expressing the information and my opinion is a different story. There are just so many ideas popping in my head that I just feel overwhelmed, especially when deadlines are involved. Also, I was awkward with my social skills throughout my life. Right now, I'm getting better. Back then, social life was a major struggle for me; I couldn't relate to the average college student.

Do you want to dialogue about your chart? I am trying to learn and your responses are needed by me.

If so, I will just start with what I see and we can go from there.

Neptune in the 12th House
By amiann | Published: December 21, 2011 |

This is the easiest 12th house placement, but any 12th house placement means you may suffer as you sojourn on this earth. The 12th house is the closest point on the chart to the next dimension. So, you have one foot on the earth and one foot in the spirit. This is not an easy road for an earth dweller. However, Neptune is the most at home in the 12th house, as it is already a citizen of the next world. It represents all things mystical, creative, imaginative and escapist. It rules drugs and alcohol because these take us to the next dimension, too. Neptune in the 12th can make a person psychic. I have this. The psychic ability is enhanced if it touches,in a positive fashion, one’s mind(Mercury) and one’s identity(Sun) and the 8th house, of which I have all three. The house on the Astrological wheel which Neptune rules may have sorrow within .One would look for the house with the sign of Pisces on the cusp.Neptune rules my 5th house, the house of children. I lost a child. Any 12th house placement makes a person’s life journey likened to a bus which rocks a little harder than the others.

Mars in the 12th House
By amiann | Published: December 18, 2011 |

Mars is the planet of action. It shows how we pursue what we pursue, whether it be a date, a job, or our side of an argument . The 12th house trumps any and all placements in the chart, for difficulty. Mars does not like to be in the 12th house .Mars likes to be where it can move forward in a direct way. Mars likes to take bold and decisive action. The 12th house trumps even the best Mars sign and renders this Mars very unhappy. Just as Mars loves to go forward to pursue a goal or say what is on it’s mind, the 12th house turns it inward. Mars wants to boldly shout it’s position, in an argument. The 12th house makes it reticent to make a peep. So, it becomes passive aggressive with it’s anger. Mars wants to pursue a woman. Mars in the 12th make Mars insecure and self doubting. Mars wants to pursue worldly goods. Mars in the 12th makes it procrastinate and second guess it’s motives. It may even give up, altogether. This Mars position is the same as the moon in the 12th house, in that it is like a child facing the wall in time-out. First, it has to turn itself around before it can even begin to get where it wants to go. If you know someone with this Mars position, know that they are struggling with a burden which may be mitigated but never totally overcome.

The Neptune and Mars placements in the 12th house seem accurate in the descriptions. I have struggled with depression, and went to different clinics (even the college clinic) to get a diagnosis and even testing on learning disabilities. I didn't drink or do drugs, however, I have a family member who still drinks. That contributed greatly to any dysfunctional things that happened in my life.

As far as getting a diagnosis of depression and learning disability, the doctors could not figure out what was wrong with me due to my family issues. They do not know how much of my academic and social struggles are from a neurological cause or an environmental/ familial cause.

Eventually, I find that I do excellent in finals and end-of-course projects, and therefore I get a grade way better than I thought I would. Yet, I just feel like I'm not thriving like a normal college student would. I feel terrible in a college environment, whereas I feel very valued in my personal relationships and my job. For those two aspects of my life, I feel I'm competent and that I achieved something. I love my boss and other co-workers, as well as my roommate and boyfriend (two separate people).

I do find that I self-sabotage when I am having difficulties in school. As I stated above, though, I buckle down and really give my all by the end of the quarter to get a Bs on courses! I seriously doubt that I would participate in commencement. I don't want to be reminded of how exhausted I feel every time I perform well in school. Plus, I spent time studying in college longer than 4 years. I'm a 7-year-college student!

Question: Wouldn't my exalted placement of 19 degrees at Mars in Capricorn lessen the effects of the 12th House Mars and Neptune? Maybe that's what drives me to not give up and do better.

Yes, it can cause some difficulties, but it also offers some advantages too.
