(I originally posted this question in Astrology 2.0., but I think I'll get more responses here)

I always thought I was born at 12:43pm (17/01/94), but I recently found out (seeming as today is my birthday) that I was born at 1:47pm. Therefore, even though most of my planets are in the same positions (just a few degrees difference), my house system has completely changed (to about the next sign along), therefore, the planets are in different houses, as to the ones I thought they occupied before.

Based on my previous knowledge, I thought I had a 9th House Stellium in Capricorn (Sun, Venus, Mars, Uranus, Neptune); however, now I know that my Capricorn Stellium occupies the 8th House.

Could anyone help give some insight on my chart, and the meaning behind this 8th House Stellium in Capricorn. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Planets in the 8th House
By amiann | Published: December 14, 2011 |

If the 12th house is the door to the next dimension, the 8th house is emotions and passions, repressed in THIS dimension. If you have planets in the 8th house, those spheres represented by the planet, can seem lost to you, as if they are hiding down a huge, dark well. Planets in this house need therapy, not as an actual event, but as a type pf course , to bring them out of hiding in to the light of day. A person with many 8th house planets will be hidden in the parts of himself which the planets represent. He will not have one foot in the door to the next dimension, as does the 12th house. He will just need some help seeing that he is perfectly fine, as he is. He will need to dig up what is there and bring it to the light. Then, he will be like everybody else. The Sun in the 8th house may make the person mature late. He may feel a lack of identity . He may struggle more than his peers to have that sense of self which is so essential to us all. A person with the moon in the 8th will have a profound depth and an unusual sensitivity. He may be psychic or at the least, very intuitive. He may struggle to feel an acceptance of his emotions. He may feel they are too dark or too scary to face. However, he must and when he does, he will have a profound depth with which to go forward in life. Mars in the 8th may be driven to explore the depths of both sexuality and emotions. This person may be interested in any career which explores what is under the surface such as a detective or psychologist. Saturn in the 8th has a paradoxical effect. It may cool the emotions and the passions, so that they may feel lost to the person. This person may have to struggle, mightily, to unearth his own emotional and sexual depth. Pluto in the 8th is in its natural home. This Pluto is very passionate and at home with his primal side. Uranus in the 8th may like off beat sexual practices and may have little fear exploring his deeper emotions, as well. Neptune in the 8th may make it hard to grasp what is at one’s core. One may not want to see cold hard reality but couch it in poetic terms and niceties.

You, still, have a 9th house influence, as your Mercury(mind) is in the 9th house.
Your heart is in being a member of a group.

You will KNOW if the 8th house stellium fits, as the 8th house is very distinct. You will feel as if you are coming home.

I use Equal House system (where each cusp is same as Ascendant) and am a modern astrologer. Lots of newcomers come into Astrology/forums and get a free chart from astro and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few others if you wish to experiment…..

Within the mainstream are placidus/equal houses (the default on astro is placidus) only difference being some planets may move from one house to another thereby altering it's interpretation and it's 'only' with research will you find which /planets 'fit you' in which houses. So my advice, do two charts, research any planets that move houses and see which you identity with - simple

So most of your stellium would be 7th house, sun would be 8th house. mercury would also be 8th and Saturn 9th house. Moon would be 10th, jupiter 5th and pluto 6th.
mars conj Neptune
“This conjunction can pose several difficulties: in choice of actions, where you may struggle to establish what your real aims are; in making that final decision to attempt to achieve them, and in ensuring that sufficient and persistent effort is then made to guarantee success. An unintegrated Neptune can dissolve that focused will, making decisive clarity difficult to maintain. Additionally, you tend to avoid accepting the consequences of your choices, and there can be a refusal to acknowledge responsibility when such actions lead to failure or negative results.” http://astrology.astrozoom.com/index.php?title=NEPTUNE_PARALLEL%2C_CONJUNCTION%2C_SQUARE_OR_OPPOSITION_TO_MARS http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11521

Your sun wouldn't function to much like a capricorn either as Uranus the nearest will overshadow the sun's rays to behave more like an Aquarius/Uranus....

your moon is also a singleton ie: only planet in fire element

Uranus in 7th House – Angular house
These people have an intrinsic sense of fair play, of justice and of equality. When these principles are ¬consistently violated in relationships, the cumulative stress can induce a psychologically traumatic state. When this occurs they must re evaluate themselves in terms of their expectations about reality in general, and relationship dynamics specifically
Shows a desire for freedom in marriage. The partner may be unusually intelligent. Your choice of mate could be unpredictable. Need certain amount of freedom within a marriage or your partner may want or need this. Can go both ways. Difficulties in marriage either one can be too independent. Boredom and routine needs breaking occasionally to keep things fresh, exciting. But with a certain amount of eccentricity married life will not be dull.
Divorce or separation, sometimes by sudden death if Uranus is afflicted. Apt to attract a partner who wants to feel free and be a law unto themselves. Suddenly find themselves being confronted by ‘open enemies’ which will come as a surprise – but at least that way it can be dealt with (much better than 12th/secret enemies)

Neptune in 7th House – angular house
Often a strong psychic link with marriage partner. You will be easily affected by the moods and feelings of other people. You may be called upon to make sacrifices for business or marital partner. Relationships drawn to. Always looking for the IDEAL partner/mate, could well get what they wish for! Might get a clinging vine, or the opposite a very independent type spouse. Beware of self deception; ie wearing rose tinted glasses.

Gemini Asc (along with pisces) is probably one of the most difficult in childhood. I call gemini risers the 'why children' wearing parents down asking questions, why why why. How does this work, why does that do this? sometimes I think parents 'switch off' from constant questions and then the child feels alientated, misunderstood, bit like a square peg in round hole. does this resonate?

The houses are like the backdrop of a stage, the setting if you like, the planets are like actors and the aspects are how the planets behave in that settings/stage....So remember you may find it harder to identify with planets and Saturn in this case in Cadent houses….

"Saturn’s" influence seems to be more obvious in the houses than in the signs can rule the life with an iron rod, although invisible, by undermining the sense of ¬self worth and making it difficult for the individual to permit any close emotional contacts.

Saturn's sign indicates what you find uncomfortable and must learn to manage.

Where and how you feel a lack of confidence -- the house position of Saturn defines where
you need to establish your skills, an issue you worry about and wish you could depend on !

Lovely anecdote about Saturn from member mahaira on astrologyweekly.com,

quote:

There's an interesting thing I read somewhere, which I would never take as a rule as it oversimplifies matters - we can guess where someone's Saturn is placed, broadly speaking, by asking him/her "What do you want (or did want) but don't have?"

Saturn in the 9th house
Saturn's best positions are the 3rd and 9th houses. Gives a practical philosophy of life.
Not good for relationships with in-laws if afflicted. Best to live at a distance. Makes good teachers, professors, workers in publishing fields or scientific pursuits. Good at detailed work. Exacting and concentrative. Can be fanatical and intolerant in religious concerns if Saturn is afflicted. These people are influenced by the conservative religion and traditional values of their background. Even rebellion will change only the form and not the reality of their basic beliefs. Life or travel in foreign countries may be most successful if connected with work. Care should be taken to avoid difficulties in travel.Systems of belief you will judge according to their practical value and you will seek and desire personal ¬distinction through some achievement you have studied.
