Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to interpret Saturn in Virgo. From what I've learnt I do believe that Saturn is the key to unlocking alot of our potential but I'm confused as to how to apply this in my life.

Would I be very organised, healthy etc like a Virgo or would I develop, be disciplined through a creative pursuit.

Or if anyone has any other insight on this placement it is very welcomed.

Thank-you

Saturn in the Signs
By amiann | Published: December 26, 2011 |

Saturn cools what it touches. It makes it unreachable, except with considerable effort. As such, the sign in which your Saturn resides will be an energy which will be hard for you to access. This principle applies to the house, also. I will discuss that in another entry. Now I will address Saturn in the signs. Remember when Saturn is in the sign, it RESTRICTS the energy of the sign.

Thank-you

I'm getting a bit carried away. I'll have to leave soon so I thought I'd try being more specific with my question. Before I thought it might bias people if I made that suggestion but I guess it's better to just be more specific about it.

How do I stop it's restriction on my 5th house?

Does it restrict the other placements there?

I really want to master this but I just don't understand how to go about it.

Ok we can discuss EVERYTHING about your 5th house when we do your reading, but to make it simple, Saturn makes the sign and house hard for use. We must work and work and work to access both

The houses are like the backdrop of a stage, the setting if you like, the planets are like actors and the aspects are how the planets behave in that settings/stage....So remember you may find it harder to identify with planets and Saturn in this case in Cadent houses….

"Saturn’s" influence seems to be more obvious in the houses than in the signs can rule the life with an iron rod, although invisible, by undermining the sense of ¬self worth and making it difficult for the individual to permit any close emotional contacts.

Saturn's sign indicates what you find uncomfortable and must learn to manage.

Where and how you feel a lack of confidence -- the house position of Saturn defines where
you need to establish your skills, an issue you worry about and wish you could depend on !

Lovely anecdote about Saturn from member mahaira on astrologyweekly.com,

quote:

There's an interesting thing I read somewhere, which I would never take as a rule as it oversimplifies matters - we can guess where someone's Saturn is placed, broadly speaking, by asking him/her "What do you want (or did want) but don't have?"

Takes 28 years to go around zodiac. Stays in each sign of approx 2.1/2 yrs
Keywords: Saturn = Structure, duty, limitation, restriction.

Saturn in the 5th house
Here the self expression and creative ability are apt to be inhibited. Lessons to learn where lovingness is concerned for individual is apt to be cool and inhibited. Difficulties with children due to lack of understanding where their needs are concerned. Teaching or working with young people would be a constructive use of a 5th house Saturn. Learn to forget the self and care about others. These people lack confidence in their creative abilities and social skills. Artistic potential will only be developed if practical skills are acquired. There is a formality in social relationships and in dealings with children. May delay you wanting any children of your own, but when they do arrive, feel very responsible for them, their friends and their grandchildren even.Could feel heavy responsibilities regarding children or may not even want children. People with this position are well suited to stock market speculation, may become romantically involved with an older person. Reserved in their attitudes towards Art, Theatre, ¬Pleasure.Women – could be long time in labour

Remember planets are modified by signs, where they express are houses, how they express are *aspects*

Basic astrology
Now basically your sun sign is your 'core beliefs, values, ego' and Asc is your physical body, mode of expression and mask and persona that we all wear and hide behind, but definitely not what's going on underneath. What's going on underneath is your Sun sign. Moon sign, house placements and aspects describe your emotional and intuitive responses, also describes your view of your mother, as saturn describes your father by sign and house position.

So, think of a glass milk bottle the bottle is your Asc and your sun the milk, but the milk still has to 'come out' through the glass neck of the milk bottle....

Now aspects within a natal chart represent 'facets' of our personality, because we are all multifaceted beings. What these do is 'break down and compartmentalise' these facets into smaller bite size chunks. This does take quite a lot of self analysis and objectivity to 'see yourself' and why you do certain things and behave in certain ways. Actually it can be quite good therapy...

Remember back to your school days an opposition is 180', square 90', trine 120', and sextile 60' Now challenged aspects are conj (depending on the planets, cos some like each other and some really don't) squares and oppositions. Easy aspects are conj (if the planets get along) eg: Jupiter conj Moon, sextile and trine. Quincunx is inbetween (depending on the planets) causes health strains and unresolved or hard to balance planets/energies.

I love the parable, "If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, BUT if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for life."

planets in houses http://www.horoscopeswithin.com/planetsinhouses.php
Houses/signs are like the backdrop of a stage/theatre, planets in houses behave like actors on a stage, the *aspects* show how these planets/actor behave in a house
