Saturn
By amiann | Published: January 15, 2012 |

Saturn has been met with fear and trepidation. It was thought to bode hard times. Jupiter, its opposite, was thought to bring the opposite, good tidings. However, as Astrology has evolved out of the Dark Ages to present times, one must re-evaluate Saturn. Astrology is an all inclusive system, in that it covers all aspects of life. Life has both sweet and sour, difficult and easy. Life is not one note–Middle C. Life is all the notes with the sharps and the flats. As such, Saturn tempers us. Jupiter makes us enthusiastic. We feel as if we could fly to the clouds. Saturn says” Put on your mittens. It is cold.”

Saturn, in the chart, may represent one’s father. A good father will be strict. He will not allow one to think one is the center of the Universe. He will not allow one to bound out, unbridled in a Jupiter-like fashion, throwing caution to the wind. A good father will be stern, as it is for one’s best interest. Saturn is like this. We don’t like Saturn to spoil our fun. However, if you eat too much candy, you will get a stomachache. Saturn would have told you to be sensible.

As such, Saturn makes one work for one’s career, ones money, one’s rewards, one’s prestige, one’s place in life. If one works hard, one can achieve. Saturn rules the tenth house, which is the house of career and society.Saturn knows that one must build one’s reputation slowly, but one can lose it, in an instant. As necessary as Saturn is, Saturn CAN get oppressive when placed in strategic places in the chart. Then, Saturn may squeeze one as a python around one’s neck. Can one get out of the choke hold? I am not sure. I hate to sugar coat life. I find it hurts people, more than helps them. Cold hard reality can be more of a peace than the fluff of cotton candy which seems to be delicious, but does not satisfy.

As such, I am a realistic Astrologer. God can overcome our charts, to a degree, but one must define overcome. We will never be perfect. Life will never be perfect. It comes down to working with the energies we have been given with as much grace, as we can muster, in my opinion.

The Twelfth House Planet(s) Will Trump The Chart
By amiann | Published: January 19, 2012 |

The twelfth house planet(s) will pull one back to itself as a wound on the body will draws our attention. One cannot get on with daily life when one is in pain. The pain calls for healing. I think an astrologer must go focus on the 12th house . He must see which planets are there, first of all. Then, he must check asteroids. If a client has a Retrograde 12th house planet, that would intensify the effect of the 12th house. After one analyzes the planet, then one must look at the aspects that planet makes. Anything that 12th house planet touches, will be touched with the pain of the 12th house. In order to set a client free, the 12th house must be looked at, as if under a microscope, in my humble opinion.

What Makes for a Hard Chart?
By amiann | Published: December 24, 2011 |

Many different factors make for a difficult chart. I will address a few. The hardest would be planets in the 12th house, which is the door to the next dimension, death, mysticism, addictions and creativity. Twelfth house placements may make one too raw and sensitive for this world. Another factor would be Saturn, the planet of restriction. It may give one deep, insecurity. When Saturn touches the Sun(basic identity) or one’s Moon(deepest, innermost self), one may doubt even the smallest of decisions or actions. Saturn touching any planet brings some sort of restriction. Saturn touching Venus makes love hard. Saturn touching Mars makes assertion hard. Hard aspects to Mercury may make for a struggle in one’s mental health. Mercury is one’s mind. I cringe when I see Mercury touching Uranus in a hard aspect. This can unbalance the mind. Uranus is an electrical planet. It is the planet of genius, but genius gone too far may lead to insanity. If one wants to address asteroids, one can look at the “dark” asteroids such as Nessus, the abuser’s asteroid, Dejaneria, the victim’s asteroid, Sedna, the betrayed one’s asteroid, Ixion, the outlaw’s asteroid . Also, the Child asteroid shows what happened to one, as a child. If the Child Asteroid is conjnct Dejaneria, you may have been victimized. If it is conjunct Sedna, you may have been betrayed by a father. If it conjuncts Nessus, you may have been abused with no thought for your well being.

12th House Planets
By amiann | Published: December 14, 2011 |

Some respected Astrologers shirk when they see planets in the 12th house. They shirk with empathy for the person who must deal with planets placed here. The astrological chart is the wheel of life. It goes from birth to death. The 12th house represents death. As such, the person is not your typical earth bound person occupied with earth bound pursuits. Some part of that person lives in the next dimension. As you can imagine, it makes the sphere of life represented by the 12th house planet harder. For example, if Venus, the planet of love, is in the 12th house, love comes harder for this person. This person may see other people falling in love, seemingly effortlessly, and wonder “Why, me? why is it so hard for me?” Venus in the 12th house wants love, as much as any other Venus, or person, but the 12th house makes Venus not in step with the ways of the world, almost awkward and self doubting. If one has Mars in the 12th house, one’s anger and drive may turn inward to such a degree that the person may boil with anger, but be afraid to express it. This would be a classic aspect for passive-aggression. The Sun in the 12th may make one insecure about shining one’s light, standing out and standing up for one’s unique identity. Saturn in the 12th may want to join in a group, but will wait on the sidelines, for fear of rejection. Pluto in the 12th may push his primal emotions in to the realm of fantasy and be driven by sexual fantasies that seem to propel him to places he does not wish to go. Uranus in the 12th house may, similarly, have fetishes and unusual ways that may cause him to feel he is different in a way that may feel hopeless. Jupiter in the 12th house may make the person feel as if luck is elusive. Other people seem to get all the breaks while he watches from the sidelines. Jupiter in the 12th may protect the person from near miss accidents . It is called the Guardian Angel placement. Neptune is the easiest planet to have in the 12th house, but it is not easy. No 12th house placement is. This person may be psychic. I have th

Saturn in the First House
By amiann | Published: December 26, 2011 |

Each planet has an energy. All life, every single substance, is made up of energy, even a rock. Each planet has a specific energy. With Saturn, it is restriction. Saturn is like a stern father. He makes you work for every penny. At the end, you may have a substantial allowance, but you will have broken your back for it,or close to it. With this in mind, I will try to apply Saturn to the first house. The first house is our exterior self, the mask we wear in to the world. However, it is a mask which is glued on. It is not a “fake” self. It is our outer self, the self one would meet if one saw us on a job interview. It is our cocktail party self. It is not our deep friend or lover self. With this in mind, Saturn in the first house may make us appear serious and overly responsible. Actually, we ARE serious about life. We are serious about our responsibilities. If you ask this Saturn to do a task, he will. He will work at it until it is done, and done well.If not, he will feel guilty. This Saturn has a lot of guilt. He wants to be perfect, not to impress others, as much as to feel as if he is acceptable, finally. It is an inferiority complex Saturn. It must struggle, mightily, to gain an ounce of confidence, which comes so easily to others, such as someone with Jupiter or the Sun in the first house.

Lets discuss this one placement, first, even though I gave you a lot of info. If not, there is so much helpful info that gets overlooked. I find that it is not for the person's best interest to go fast.

If you know about your chart configurations, what else do you want to know exactly? work career romance or basic learning??

You can get an immediate chart interpretation from astro.com. From ‘free horoscopes tab look for free 'personal portrait' or ‘astroclick portrait’ interpretation of a natal chart in the free horoscope section, you simply put the cursor on a planet and it brings a pop up box to explain what it means to have a planet in that house and any other aspects it has to natal planets. plus a six month free transit report in 'short report' Robert Hand gives a valuable in depth explanation of transits here – only slight objection I have with astro, is they use orbs of upto maybe 10' approaching, exact and departing. So most transits seem very long in effect. I use more realistic orbs of 1' approaching, 1' exact and 1' departing. http://www.khaldea.com/ephemcenter.shtml

If you want to learn how to use an ephemeris try here.. http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42496

Scorpio Asc is a very private sign and with chart ruler in 12th shows you really really need privacy....

I quite enjoy Yods and quincunxs so will start here..

Mars Quincunx Pluto
“You suffer by having a picture of just what needs to be done and how it is to be accomplished. This can cause you to be controlling and argumentative. When you feel the weight of the responsibilities that you have taken on or when you feel lonely and isolated, then, you are ripe for personal growth. Your desire, manner of expression, and the way you use energy will have to be changed - to be less compulsive, less forceful, so you are able to achieve greater accomplishment and more personal happiness.” http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/q...retations.html

Mars= actions, Pluto is about control, depth, subversive things. So maybe sometimes you act (mars) too forcefully for a given situation perhaps? Have you ever had feedback from someone that your actions were bit OTT for a situation?? Next look at the signs, then houses and then aspects. These will either help or hinder the situation. this aspect could potentially attract violence....
http://www.celestialperspective.com/library/marspluto-aspectswhat-determines-theyre
mars/Pluto aspects by Donna Cunningham

mars quincunx Neptune
This suggests to me you are drawn to 'questionable relationships' with a tendency to dismiss or overlook pertinent factors as insignificant until you realise it's too late and perhaps you should have paid more attention.

"Your idealism and inflated expectations of others and life can lead you into very frustrating circumstances where you feel emotionally and physically drained. Your energy and emotions strengthen as you learn how and where to be involved in other people's projects. You have difficulty learning realistic boundaries with others and realistic limits as to what you can expect from yourself. Artistic expression can help give form to your humanitarian temperament." http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/quincunxinterpretations.html

T Square http://www.drstandley.com/astrologycharts_tsquare.shtml
“Two planets in opposition squared to a third. The tension typical of the opposition aspect is aggravated by additional problems introduced by the third planet. Often an obstructive feature blocking the normal flow of behaviour of the person. Person needs to develop activities represented by the "missing" arm of the T-square to achieve wholeness” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natal_astrology#Aspect_patterns http://www.skyscript.co.uk/aspects2.html

“The t-square is exactly like the above configuration except that one of the signs is missing. Time and again this is described as trying to sit in a chair with three legs. Ironically, the individual becomes the fourth leg by acting out the traits which are missing in the chart.” http://www.skyviewzone.com/astrology/moreaspects2.htm

what tends to happen with T Squares is that a transit, progression or solar arc comes along and temporary converts it to a Grand Square, which does cause enormous tensions/problems internally, but the good thing is the get you up off your backside to resolve issues.

Neptune is doinga number on your venus/mercury in aries/5th. This is massive rose tinted glasses in romance and finances. Mercury square neptune is illusons, confusions and delusions. On the positive side it could be good for creative writing as it gives vivid imagination, day dreaming type qualities

Saturn conj Asc I would interpret as if in 1st house, as it's within 5' of house cusp and is said to be more effective in the next house along going anti clockwise...

Planets conj House cusp
“Ascendant at 15’ Libra and Jupiter 13’ Libra. That would place Jupiter in the 12th house, right? But many thoughtful astrologers would read this as Jupiter being conjunction with Ascendant, and end up reading it as bringing its action to bear in the first house, rather than in the 12th.
This same idea would apply for each and every house cusp. If the planet is IN THE SAME SIGN as the sign on the next house cusp, and close enough to be CONJUNCT WITH that next house cusp, the action of the planet will be directed into oncoming house” http://www.astrology-numerology.com/inhouses.html http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14887 http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showpost.php?p=125412&postcount=4
Ptolemy says the influence of the house begins to be felt 5° before the actual cusp. http://www.astrologycom.com/houses.html

This will have the effect like Ami Ann of knocking your confidence

chiron in 7th conj mars (which is afflicted) suggests you may be great at giving friends relationship advice, but not sorting your own love life out.. conj mars is your partners actions

Mars square moon = bossy mother and emotionally assertive nature.

Just to add yours is a 'boomerang yod' as it has the opposition from mars to saturn.

Could we start with the T square?

Kite http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/aspectpatterns.html
“Whenever a person has a kite in his chart, he is considered to be more likely to be successful in his endeavours because the opposition will give him the push to go out and conquer the obstacles that are presented to him, and the sextiles will give him a little bit more harmony once he has achieved his goals.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kite_aspect http://www.aquamoonlight.co.uk/aspect-patterns2.html http://www.evolvingdoor.ca/glossary/glossary_k.htm

boomerang Yod http://www.lunarliving.org/astrology/yod_boomerang.shtml http://www.therealastrology.com/home/faq/aspect-patterns.html

Sometimes these quincunxs (aka Inconjuncts 150’) are obvious and recognised in personality, other times it can take a lot of self examination to identify with the planets energies and of course they (like all aspects) don't operate 100% of the time, they are simply a facet of your personality. Some say they cause health issues that are unresolved, underlying, dormant waiting to be triggered.... some say you stay at one end, to the detriment of the other, OR end up see-sawing between the two until you learn balance, integration of two unlikely pairings.

Next look at the signs, then houses and then aspects. Now the *others aspects* from these quincunxs/Yods as they can act like escape routes, that can help or hinder the expressions. A chart with lots of Yods (Finger of God) will always be *searching* for the divine answers to the meaning of life, to find synthesis

What tends to happen with quincunxs is that with progessions and transits will create temporary Yods aka 'Finger of god' configurations. Like with common TSquares, they create a temp Grand Square...

If someone has the ‘generational Pluto sextile neptune’ (born after 1940) then there is always a possibility of creating a temporary Yod with quicker moving planets, progressions, solar arcs even and difficult situations where you could be forced into making decisions and worrying that you have made the wrong one. Saturn, Uranus are generational to and unless these two fall in first quadrant (the most personal) the may not even be felt if they create a temporary Yod…this could be *transformation through suffering* type aspect

Thread by R4ven on Astrologyweekly.com on Yods

quote:

Some of what you may feel/experience are:
• things which happen out of the blue, and these things affect us, but are not created by us.
• being faced with impossible choices, but where we are forced into choose something
• a feeling of having been wronged in some way, and that we `don't deserve this' to be happening to us.
• feeling like we're on a continual search for something in our lives, although we don't know what this `something' is.
• well-made plans being interrupted, or even hijacked totally
• difficulty in coping within formal education systems - eg. as in being given limited time frames in which to complete tasks (this can create high stress levels in anyone with a yod)
• the yod itself does not provide any clear direction in life.
• those with unaspected planets will have difficulty in using it effectively when put under pressure.
• walking a different path, feeling `different' from others can lead to deep feelings of insecurity, and perhaps even believing themselves to have been `born into the wrong family'. (This one freaked me out a bit, since I spent much of my childhood believing this...)
• with an unaspected planet, in childhood the over-developed effects of the planet may be suppressed in some way by parents. (eg. my brother has an unaspected `duet' between Mars and Jupiter. As a child he `bounced off the walls' and was a real handful. My mother took him to the Dr and he was put on some kind of sedative to calm him down. Eventually he became a successful athlete, and so this became a channel for his excessive energy.)
• unconsciously developing towards future activities - perhaps over a period of years - without being aware of this.
• a sense that one is a Spiritual Warrior, as you find that what seems to satisfy others in life in no way is satisfactory for you - that you are searching for `something more'.

Yes most definately I can relate to this, Is this quite a strong influence in my chart, my self doubt has led me to me troubles in life, never confident enough to do anything, and if i was I was always looking for a support system (dad mainly) (mars in 7th?..drive through others?) but never got any..
you mentioned quite a bit about 12th house, I relate totally to 12th house, and its a shame... planet of karma and transformation both in 12th and ruled by my chart ruler. I've always been quite a loner, I was never a happy child, i look back thinking why couldnt i just be happy.. it just wasnt in me, inside i always felt negativity and sad.. to escape i just used my vivid imagination. As i grew older I relaised this about myself and now consciously make an effort to think positive.. although it doesnt work sometimes.

I feel likw pluto and saturn in 12th are what i FEEL like the most... and channel this energy through singing and playing guitar or just listening to mellow music.. which sometimes takes me deeper into negativity.. not always good!

These will either help or hinder the situation. this aspect could potentially attract violence....

mars/Pluto aspects by Donna Cunningham

mars quincunx Neptune

Hey... U hit the nail right on the head on many things, Firstly yes I have done a lot of analysis, but in particular i am looking for answers about my love life and just my whole self doubt, and how to over come all this. I look at my chart and this there is a lot of potential to better, but im not sure how it all can be triggered.

Mars quincunx neptune is bang on too.. so many things In my life I just brushed off (bullying, mental abuse, manipulation) I didnt realise how much this stuff afffected me untill I find myself looking forward to sleeping and hate waking up just incase I need to deal with more emotional torture. I wish I could see things for what they REALLY are...and im envious of others who value themselves, as i certianly have a hard time doing that (think that is saturn)...this is why im also scared of my first saturn return, im not sure how im actually going to cope..

Confidence is the biggest issue for me, its so obvious i lack it, so I get trampled on, although i Look very intimidating and strong, its the absolute complete opposite.

Defitnaly rihgt about relationships, I have helped a lot of friends and family to make the right decision for themselves, but made the complete wrong decisioins for myself! some of the biggest mistakes ever, because I dont want to hurt anyone else around me, or cause confrontation, and the fact that im just too weak.

Mars square moon = bossy mother and emotionally assertive nature.

Just to add yours is a 'boomerang yod' as it has the opposition from mars to saturn.

There are some amazing articles from Ami Anne and SaggiMC! You are really good.

I'll try to learn from you and help interpreting ScorpioRising's chart. I don't know nothing about T-squares and aspects like that in astrology, and ScorpioRising have a lot on his chart, so it's important to know it before interpreting his chart.

Transiting Jupiter will be going over your sun and North node this year in 6th house of health. so any health issues *should* improve...

You can get a free six month transit forecast from astro.com under Free horoscopes, done by famous astrologer Robert Hand...

T Saturn is fast approaching your natal pluto.

"The main theme tends to be facing responsibility in the face of corruption. This is a time when you have to concentrate your interests more deeply and narrowly, most often because you are going through a financial burden or some other kind of shortage. This is also a time to get rid of any rules and regulations that do not adequately meet the demands that you are experiencing. Many of the habits that you have grown used to, simply do not apply anymore. You may have to live with austere circumstances for a while. The authorities may not be dependable, or may be corrupt." http://www.astrology-x-files.com/transits/saturn-cj-pluto.html

The 'saving grace' to this is that it will be in your 12th house THE most cadent and hidden of all the houses,so it may not be that noticeable, but forwarned is forarmed as they say.

with regards relationships, the rulers of 7th and 1st house Pluto and venus don't make any aspects. Ruler of 7th venus in aries in 5th is in detriment AND afflicted by square to neptune, causing confusions, illusions and delusions. Best always to get a second opinion from a trusted friend with this aspect.

Now mars in 7th, (without even looking at the aspects) suggests altercations, and assertiveness within relatiionships AND possible wounds via men (chiron conj mars)

Mars is challenged by this common T Square. Now *unfortunately* T Neptune is temporarily creating a Grand Square to this T Square, causing lots of inner tensions. So let's take them individually...

T Neptune Opp N moon, suggests confused emotions and domestic circumstances (moon rules home/cancer) T Neptune conj 4th house cusp.
T Neptune square mars will sap your energy levels and you may need more sleep due to this.
T Neptune square N saturn, this can cause depression. Saturn will always give a huge *reality check* to any dreams or aspirations of Neptune here

T Uranus is conj 5th house cusp and quincunxing natal moon... so if I give you the natal chart interpretation, you can surely adapt for your circumstances...

Moon Quincunx Uranus
“You may have to sort through the "hidden messages" you received as a child in order to make sense out of some of your adult actions. You act, at times, without any forethought. This is because you are driven by forces out of your immediate awareness. Your spontaneous bursts of enthusiasm either serve you well or they don't. Early in life you may have been "told" that you should be different, but, your differences will stop you from succeeding. It takes time and adjustment to really learn that it's okay to be both unique and successful.” http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/quincunxinterpretations.html

“you must solve your emotional problems before you can feel really free. However, in this process you become skilled in dealing with recurring crises. The difficulties you experience are a direct result of conditioning by your parents. You were emotionally unprepared to accept the burdens you were expected to carry. Because of this you felt guilty and tried to do whatever you could to rid yourself of this. In serving others you overreact emotionally. You develop many skills to enable you to succeed in your job. Your best field would be one that involves teaching groups to develop their potentials.”

From the book ‘Aspects and Personality’ by Karen Hamaker-Zondag

I love the parable, “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, BUT if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for life.”
