Hi, I am trying to get my friend more involved in astrology. I'm still a bit of an amateur or else I would do the reading myself. Would greatly appreciate any insight! Thank you! IP: Logged |

you have already posted in placidus which is simply the default on astro.com I use Equal House system (where each cusp is same as Ascendant) and am a modern astrologer. Lots of newcomers come into Astrology/forums and get a free chart from astro and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few others if you wish to experiment….. Within the mainstream are placidus/equal houses (the default on astro is placidus) only difference being some planets may move from one house to another thereby altering it's interpretation and it's 'only' with research will you find which /planets 'fit you' in which houses. So my advice, do two charts, research any planets that move houses and see which you identity with - simple Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAwGtMWl4z4 You can get an immediate chart interpretation from astro.com. From ‘free horoscopes tab look for free 'personal portrait' or ‘astroclick portrait’ interpretation of a natal chart in the free horoscope section, you simply put the cursor on a planet and it brings a pop up box to explain what it means to have a planet in that house and any other aspects it has to natal planets. plus a six month free transit report in 'short report' Robert Hand gives a valuable in depth explanation of transits here – only slight objection I have with astro, is they use orbs of upto maybe 10' approaching, exact and departing. So most transits seem very long in effect. I use more realistic orbs of 1' approaching, 1' exact and 1' departing. http://www.khaldea.com/ephemcenter.shtml If you want to learn how to use an ephemeris try here.. http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42496 here is my favourite online ephemeris which plots where the planets are for hundreds of years... Sun trine pluto- you try to change the world in your own way everyday by making people see their own faults and trying to set a good example that others could follow. You also are not afraid of dealing with people's dark sides and with the taboo. You would make a good psychologist or good at some other occupation where you deal with people's emotional traumas and people on the edge of desperation.Venus conjunct mars- you either like people a lot or are indifferent about them. You love passionately and intensely. You can go long periods being single because you are very picky about the people you interact with. You are very passionate about life and will never lose this love for life even when you are older. You also have a strong sexuality and will have many relationships or at least many crushes where you are sure you have very passionate feelings about the person. You may be promiscuous and obsessed with sex if other placements support it. Sun conjunct mercury- you tend to talk a lot abd conversations invariably end up being focuse on yourself and your opinions. You must let others contribute to conversations with you! Dont take over. Well, sun negative aspect to saturn basically means your father, and probably your mother too were horrible authoritarians. They acted like dictators and you very much felt emotionally abused, but especially by your dad. The moon in your chart, which represnts the mother, is making all good aspects, so thankfully, you received the appropriate nurturing skills from her. However, saturn shows that they were both too strict with you! They only seemed to show you love when you did what they wanted. So what you learned was that you always have to earn other people's love, and they will not just love you for being yourself. Your father was either physically or emotionally absent or both during most of your childhood. and even later on if you met him, he did not involve himself much with the family and preoccupied himself with work or other things. He is a pretty emotionally distant person in general. This made you feel like you don't matter to him, and that as a result, you won't matter to other people in the world. It comes as a surprise to you that most people are actually a lot nicer than your father and mother are, but especially your father. And that most people are warm and not emotionally distant like him. You will probably push yourself to be perfect your entire life, because you think what you do and how well u do it is the reason why people will love you or decide to stop loving you. Also, since u fear failing so much because it means people will not love u and that u are worthless, basically, u avoid responsibility. This means you dont put yourself in the spotlight...because that could lead to possible criticism...you fear rejection very much. But, eventually your own demand for strong work ethic in yourself..one might even say ur relentless and unhealthy demand....will allow you to achieve something successful. And once enough people have shown u love and show u that u are indeed loved for who u are and not for what u can do for other people, then you will stop shirking responsibility because you will fear criticism less. EDIT: I have also noticed a certain amount of rebellion with this aspect. I have this aspect myself like i mentioned and i definitely try to rebel from teachers' and bosses' authority because it feels like i am rebelling against my parents' authority and strict attempts to control me. So for example, i will show up late, i will do what i want, i will subtly try to point out how stupid my teacher's viewpoints are in class. lol. etc etc Sun square neptune- your father was absent when you were little. He was a hero of some sort in your family for saving your family from danger. You idealized him and as a result you idealize most things and people in your life. You have an unrealistic idea of how things will turn out, often making a mountain out of a molehill, and tend to enjoy escaping to a fantasy world. You also think the world is mostly good and that people are as nice as you and it really hurts you when you find this isnt true. The world will kill a lot of your many illusions about people. To you the world is a beautiful idealisitc place. You can enjoy a a lot of the benefit of neptune, though. Like, an ability to inspire people thanks to your idealism of how the world should be. Thank you for your feedback! I will send my friend all this info. The only thing that struck me as odd is the father thing. From what I've witnessed she has a good relationship with her father, he is a successful and gregarious man. On the other hand, I know she has had struggles with her mother. Her mother is opinionated and hard on her. Perhaps, the roles are reversed? She also has a younger sister that has struggled with some obstacles. What do you see in terms of love & career? Thanks!! I also added her equal house chart IP: Logged |

The OP doesn't have sun hard aspect sun/saturn quote: Sun square neptune- your father was absent when you were little.
Were you per chance reading someone else's chart instead of OP???I don't agree tat sun/neptune shows an absent father. It could show some idealising just for the sake of research and NOT because this chart has this aspect then... sun square Neptune http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?p=322226#post322226 http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39262&highlight=square+neptune http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37149&highlight=square+neptune http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10371&highlight=square+neptune http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34472&highlight=square+neptune http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32673&highlight=square+neptune IF Saturn had aspect SUN may well show a lack of rapport with father. sun is trine pluto here showing a high powers of concentration. sunk, quote:

sunkiss, are there any other questions you would like to ask? perhaps it would have been a good idea to start new threads, with your own interpretations, this way it gives me and others a starting point at which to pitch a response, depending upon your own knowledge of astrology ------------------ I love the parable, “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, BUT if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for life.” IP: Logged | |
